I picked Mia Hamm for my project because she started as such a little girl that loved soccer in a PeeWee League to the best female soccer player in the world. I learned from Mia to never give up on you dream and strive to achieve it. Mia Hamm inspires so many people because she shows that if you have a desire chase it and don't give up because you will get to where you want to be in life.
Hope Solo, a goalie for the United States Women’s National Team, as well as the Seattle Reign FC in the National Women’s Soccer League, is widely regarded as the best goalkeeper the women’s game has ever seen. With over 100 career shutouts on the international level, and numerous individual and team awards including two FIFA Golden Glove awards and a World Cup, it’s hard to deny her prowess. Solo has been on the national stage for over a decade now, and while heralded as a world class player, her career has been fraught with controversy. Solo: A Memoir of Hope was published in August 2012 and provides a unique look into the major events in Hope Solo’s life through her own eyes.
The person I received for our project is Antonia Novello who is known for her work in the health profession. Antonia Novello was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico on August 23, 1944. She is currently 70 years old and still alive. When Antonia was born she had a birth abnormality of the colon. Her father died when she was the age of 8, but her mother worked as a high school principal. Antonia was a very well rounded student and graduated at the age of 15, her mother stressed to her how important school was. Once Antonia was in college she got surgery to correct her colon abnormality.
Mia Hamm is the most talented women’s soccer player in the United States of America to date. She is one of the most recognizable soccer figures for both genders. She has dominated the soccer world since the late 1980’s, inspiring athletes across the United States and as well as the world. During her years on the U.S Women’s National Soccer team, she received numerous awards most notably the title for best all-around female soccer player. Because of these successes, she has developed one of the biggest fan bases across the world. Mia Hamm serves as a model for all collegiate and professional athletes combining her celebrity and passion for the
When it comes to sports men and women are rarely given equal opportunities to excel. This is the case in soccer specifically, as many individuals over look women’s soccer. Women are having to play on turf fields which is causing more injuries compared to men playing on natural grass. Men also make more money per match and they receive money if they lose, whereas the women do not receive any money if they lose a match. While women are becoming more successful, the men’s team has been around longer and bring in more media coverage and endorsements for the league. Despite the discrepancies found in media coverage of both teams, the US soccer federation and Federation International Football Association should provide equal opportunities for both men’s and women’s soccer teams.
The pay in both the professional women's soccer team and the professional men's soccer team is very unequal. The players on the women's team get paid nearly a fourth less which is very surprising considering how good they are. Both teams play the same game do the same sport and represent the same team so why aren't they payed the same? I believe the women's team should be paid the same as the men's or even more because of their amazing results.
From a young age, children are conditioned to always think about what they want to be when they grow up. Many of them dream to be a ballerina, firefighter, or an astronaut. With age comes maturity, and those aspirations pass, but simultaneously new, more realistic ones arise. To reach these new goals, these children work toward their dream through dedication, which can be seen in the studying or training they do. In today’s society females have more opportunity to do what they dream. There are young women who are assiduously working to get a college degree and a steady job. Then, there are also women who are training to become a professional athlete, with the aspiration of becoming a member of the United States Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT). In today’s society, women can pursue their goals, however, if compared to men’s sports, there can be differences seen that keep women from reaching full potential, equality, and their dreams.
It is really hard to be a role model but Lupe from the short story Marble champ by Gary Soto is a great role model because she is a good sport,a hard worker, and above all, an intelligent person.
The person that I will be writing about is Simone Biles. She is my idol, because she never gives up even if she fails the first time. She was in the summer olympics, and she was really good.
When I was assigned this project I had a hard time choosing an artist. I really do not know much about influential artists so I was pretty lost. I thought I would chose someone everyone knew about like Picasso. But they did not meet the criteria for the artist we were supposed to chose and I would not have a lot to say about them besides the obvious that everyone knew. I realized that I did not have too much to say about them. I needed to write five pages about a artist. The artist I chose would have to be someone more interest , someone I could relate to someone's work who inspired or influenced me. I did a lot of research and I stumbled upon Kara Walker.
There have been many influential women in the history of soccer. For example, Abby Wambach, Mia Hamm, and Alex Morgan are just some of the many influential female soccer players. Through all of them, Mia Hamm stands out the most. Mia Hamm is influential because she was the founder of a bone marrow research foundation, she wrote a kids book to encourage them not to quit even if they don’t win, and she is an inspiration to girls who want to play soccer or any other sports.
I have to decide to pick gabby doulas as my topic because what she does is something I’m not very into so In my report I’ve talked about gabby and her early life etc. and her career and other things she does
The one person that has inspired me is Odell Beckham Jr.He has inspired me because he is very good at sports. He also inspires me because he plays football and so do I, and football is my favorite sport. He also makes amazing one handed catches. In fact he made the World’s best one handed catch. I watch dude perfect because they do trick shots and he was on the video and he made the world's longest one handed catch ever. He showed me that nothing is impossible and anything is possible. I also like him because he has my number in football my number is 13 and so is his. I also like him because he is strong and tough and a great leader to his team. Odell Beckham Jr. has only been in the NFL for only 2 years and is now the 4th best
People ask me who inspires me the most in the world and the ones that pop right into mind are my mother and Mrs. Napoli. Mama Naps is the only one who left a lasting impression in my life. She has done so much for other students including myself. She always goes out of her way to make sure her ‘kids’ are always flourishing.
Lesra Martin inspire me in many ways. First of all he is a hard working person. For example when he came to Canada, he does not read or write properly, even he only has the knowledge of grade 2 student. He worked really hard to develop himself. He starts everything from the bottom , it takes him three years to learn only the basics. He never gave up on himself , he worked really hard and successfully completed high school. Secondly he fought with his emotional obstacles and over came from them. When he came to Canada , he left his family behind and he misses them a lot even though, he concentrated on his studies and became successful. Lesra works part time to send money for his family. In such young age he started supported his family.
She should be allowed on the soccer team if there is no girls soccer team if there’s a girl’s soccer team then she should be on that team and if there’s not a girls soccer team then i think the girl should be able to play but should be warned that boys are a lot more rough than girl when it comes to sports. Another reason why the girl should be allowed is her parents might get mad at the school and say that they aren't being equal to her by not allowing her to play on the boy’s soccer team.
