The memoir that I liked best was Boom City by Jake B. The write told his story well, you understood what was going on through his imagery. You can see the panic and fear he was in when the gun powder exploded. Then having to confess to his parents for what he did wrong. You know as soon as the powder exploded he felt bad and rerated play with fireworks. If I was going to give a suggestion to the writer it would be to continue his story not to stop were he did because it seemed unfinished. What happened after his parents picked him up? Did he go to the hospital? What happened to his friend?
On February 28th 1944, some neighborhood around the house of the ten Boom’s reported that they saw numerous man from Ermelo coming in and out of their house. According to on of our suspectores, they believe the ten Booms’ are hiding Jews, but they found no Jews in side that christian household.
It was April of 1999. My family was at home. Children were running outside. The asphalt was burning. Cars rolled up to the entrance of the apartments and BANG. I grew up in Stockton, California. Surprisingly, as a minority, I wasn’t really a minority. There were, in fact, a large and diverse population of Asian-Americans. But, Stockton is not the ideal place to live. It was hot and dry, almost to the point of a drought. Stockton was also ranked as the one of the top 5 most dangerous cities in California. So, having a nice and safe family is kind of difficult. Eventually, my family decided to move to Crescent City, California when my dad retired. It was a world of difference. There were trees, plentiful water, and a nice cool temperature. This
The pleasures of Rapid City were in my sights when I asked Malory to make the 2-hour trip with me.To begin our trip to Rapid, we would get in my cobalt, and drive to the Dupree Cenex to fill up on snacks, drinks, and gas. Mallory would get Root Beer and Pringles. I would get M&M’s and Cherry Sprite. We would get in the car, after we filled it up with gas, put on our favorite music, and truly start the trip.
This short story was interesting to read, and the ironic ending was surprising. The main character unknowingly shot his own brother. Despite the fact that numerous relationships are severed through war, I was still startled by the abrupt ending. Humans rarely think twice about their actions, resulting in catastrophic consequences. The story portrayed the main character as a Republican sniper who would carelessly act, such as trying to light a cigarette in the darkness during war. He never thought about the results of pulling a trigger on a person, and the outcome was atrocious. I would recommend this short story for people who prefer surprising plot twists. Although, this book was enjoyable to read, on a scale from 1-10, with 10 being the highest,
Today my Hilarious Fiend Jasper and I will be leaving Dupree around 2:00. We will be traveling 2 hours 20 minutes and One Hundred Forty Five miles. To Rapid City South Dakota
When Nazi Germany occupied Holland in 1940, the country’s condition for the Jewish community became increasingly brutal. The ten Booms, a Christian family and members of the Dutch underground movement during World War II, were hope for many Jewish people, making their home (Beje) a refuge (hiding place). Corrie ten Boom, 50 years old, her sister Betsie, 55 years old and their father Casper, 80 years were not the typical age group you would think of as revolutionaries.
Slowly but surely, more pieces of his story came to light and I was able to arrange the chaotic amalgamation of information into coherent order. The conclusion was not satisfying, and he became half the man I once thought he was. After days of blithering disappointment, I realized that the innocent girl inside of me clinging onto hope let go and let herself fall into

Being from a town where there are no skyscrapers and a growing community, I had never experienced the real feeling of being in an actual crowded city. This city is like none I’ve ever been in, I had been in Miami, Atlanta, and Charlotte but those cities were nothing like the city I was about to visit. In October of 2016 my older brother ran into a medical problem causing us to have to visit a doctor that was located hundreds of miles away. From then on we had to travel to Teaneck, NJ, but minutes away from that town was the largest city in the United States which was New York City. I had seen movies, television shows, and news about New York, but I really did not believe there could be a place so full of life, so I was finally getting the chance
I have lived in two distinct communities: the first was the town of Moraga, the second, is the city of Stockton. The former is the epitome of white picket fence suburbia, with friendly neighbors, a high ranking public school system, and a non-existent crime rate. Growing up in Moraga, I was able to receive a great education, roam around freely, and never feared horrors such as gang shootings and drug abuse. Sadly, when I moved to the latter, most of these horrors were apparent weekly.

During the summer of 7th grade my mom and I went on a trip to san Francisco that showed me how real untreated mental health issues, homelessness, and drugs are. I always knew that bad communities existed and they’re not safe but I never knew what they really looked like. That was until my mom and I accidentally walked through the tenderloin. The Tenderloin is one of the most infamous parts of San Francisco. The whole city of San Francisco is a crazy and beautiful place that I learned how many people suffer from drugs, crime, poverty and homelessness.
