Melissa McCarthy is an actress from Plainfield, Illinois who was born on August 26, 1970. She went to Joliet Catholic Academy. After high school, she started doing stand up comedy in New York. In 1990 she became someone known as a “Groundling”. A Groundling is a person who is for The Groundlings company who writes and performs while teaching at the company’s school system. She was one for nine years. In ‘99 she moved to Los Angeles where her career began. Even though she did other stage performances along with movie and television show premieres, she really hit it off in Los Angeles. McCarthy landed a spot in the TV show Gilmore Girls. And she is really good at both of them. She meets another cop from the FBI, who is career perfectionist, named Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock). Agent Ashburn is the goody professional, and Agent Mullins is the psycho professional. The two officers do not get along at first. After warming up to one another, they will go out and try to find a drug lord who ruined Agent Mullins’s brother’s life. Along they way, they try to clear some of the crime on the streets. Another popular movie done by McCarthy was The Boss where she played the richest woman in America. When she has to go to jail, her career and riches disappear. Trying to get back on her feet, she rooms with her former assistant and her little daughter, who is a Dandelion Scout. To get back, McCarthy starts a small Scout brownie empire and has the little girls sell them. Identity Thief was done by McCarthy alongside Jason Bateman. McCarthy plays a woman named Diana who steals so many identities that she lost count. She pretends to be a company or some other type of salesperson to get personal information. Eventually Sandy Bigelow Patterson (Jason Bateman) is her next victim. When she steals his identity, he leaves his life to find her. They eventually become friends even though he is mad at her. Along the way, McCarthy pushes Sandy to his personality
