The way we plan on eliminate the supply of methamphetamine in the US is by Med Code. Med Code is a data base program that tracks every time someone buys any over the counter medicine that has the ingredients of Pseudoephedrine or Ephedrine in it. The reasoning for tracking these to ingredients is because they are two of the most common ingredients used to make meth. How Med Code works is ever store will be equipped with an ID scanner. Every time someone buys any over the counter medicine they will have to get there ID scan. If the medicine they are buying has the ingredients of Pseudoephedrine or Ephedrine in it there name will go into the data base program Med Code and will be logged. This data base program Med Code will flag anyone that has

HCPCs or Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System is used to represent procedures, supplies, products, and services that are provided to Medicare, Medicaid beneficiaries, and to individuals enrolled in a private insurance program. The setting I think you would use HCPCs codes in are Hospitals and in Doctor's Office. I think that would be a common setting in which you would use HCPCs codes because of everything that goes into each and every procedure. The doctor puts a lot of material into each and every procedure.
In order for a patient’s insurance claim to go through correctly, you (as a medical assistant) need to code correctly. In the medical field coding is used to identify diagnoses patient’s have and services provided for them. Driving down the road, Michael and Serina hadn’t a clue about what their day would entail. On a sunny evening during August 2017 in Florida, they were sitting in the bus on the way back from class. Serina and Michael always thought of the amazing technology that enabled them to get from one place to another. There are many means of transportation that they were fascinated with: cars, buses, trains, and planes. Planes were the most fascinating to them because of the way that they could get back to their hometown of Holland during school breaks, Because of their interest in planes, they had a project called, “Code 9,” which they had been working on for many years, Code 9’s name was special for a reason. The plane that they were building had special coding that powered the plane’s 9 engines. The special coding and the fast speeds of the plane enabled Michael and Serina to travel into the future. This project had been in the works ever since Michael and Serina started their college education in Florida. All that they wanted was to be able to get from Holland to Florida in less than an hour, but the special coding of the airplane enabled them to fly off into the future.
While driving down a road in Montana, exploring, someone would notice the paintings and sculptures that read “Meth, not even once” or something as simple as “Montana Meth Project.” The Montana Meth Project has become Montana’s way to stomp out Montana’s meth problem. Healthcare common procedure coding system (HCPCS) is a standardized coding system that is used to identify supplies and medical equipment in a physician's ambulatory care setting. There are two sets of codes first being level one that includes CPT five digit numeric code and level two that is alpha numeric that begins with a letter followed by four numbers. Physicians must use HCPCS codes on the Form CMS- 1500. Abstracting HCPCS codes is used to describe items used for services and procedures. When abstracting, the procedure, one must look for entries in the chart that describes what was used for the procedure or services. For example, a high strength wheelchair would be coded differently from a ultra lightweight wheelchair or a high strength
To help combat the opioid crisis, there are some existing policies that have been set in place by the government and various agencies. For instance, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have implemented the use of Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs). These state-run programs are electronic databases that track down the prescriptions of controlled substances, including opioids. Physicians and other medical personnel can utilize this database to look at specific information such as the type of drug prescribed, the quantity, and so on. In addition, they can look at a patient’s history with controlled substances, which in turn helps them to avoid the prescription of controlled substances to a person with possible
Throughout the United States, there exists Federal and state laws that seek to seek to control given categories of over the counter drugs (Paul-Emile, 2010). The outcome of such efforts is the formulation of drug control policies that despite their goodwill and intention end up creating new sets of challenges for the producers, distributors, and consumers of the drugs (Lessenger & Feinberg, 2015). Like many other states, the state of West Virginia has moved to put in place legislations that control the use of over the counter medicine. As such in line with the “Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic” passed by the U.S Congress and enacted on 2006, the state of West Virginia (WV) also enacted a related policy passed in the 2012 regular

Once these laws took effect, and methamphetamine lab arrests increased, users began to start seeking alternatives to manufacturing the drug at home. Cartels and gangs, primarily from Mexico, started realizing that Florida was a large market to sell mass quantities of “ice” methamphetamine and began to traffic the pure clear crystalized drug to Central Florida. “The purity of crystal methamphetamine typically is over 80 percent, depending upon the amount of washing, the purity of the initial substance, and the experience of the laboratory operator. Crystal methamphetamine typically is administered by smoking using a glass pipe, although some abusers inject the drug.” (National Drug Intelligence Center,
