One of the main reasons to establish the Mayflower Compact was governing laws for and by the people. The Compact created the idea of a social contract . A social contract is authorized to follow the compact's rules and regulations for the sake of order and survival. “Civil Body Politic” purpose was to set equal law for the pilgrims and stranger on the Mayflower ship.

The Jamestown Colony is a very important part of our country. What would it be like if Jamestown Colony never existed. Would we speak Spanish or would Indians occupy the land? These English men gave up their lives to make our country. When the first English Colonists came over to America they faced many problems, such as storms and indian attacks. They had three ships that they brought over the biggest one being called the Susan. These ships carried anything from weapons, food, and people. They stopped several places along the way to replenish their supplies.

In the Jamestown colony, colonists were dying because of Native American attacks, famine, disease, and their own mistakes. The colonists chose an area along a river that led to diseases such as dysentary and malaria. Settlers wasted valuable time that could have been used to hunt and fish. Food supplies dwindled until the entire colony was on the brink of starvation.

After being sued by settlers in Kentucky Daniel Boone moved to Point Pleasant in what is now West Virginia. He served as a lieutenant colonel and legislative of his county. After serving in those two positions he moved to Missouri where he settled in Femme Osage valley where he continue to roam and hunt until he died on September 26, 1820. In 1607 a group of 120 Englishmen who sought gold and other treasure established Jamestown, Virginia. This town was named in honor of King James I who granted this land to the Virginia Company of London. The group of men did not in fact find treasure. More than half of the men succumbed to starvation or diseases and died less than a year later. Of the original group of men only 38 remained. In response to this the Virginia Company of London sent even more colonists to Jamestown, but many of the new settlers also perished.

Daniel Boone was born on November 2, 1734, and was known as an explorer, woodsman, American pioneer, and frontiersman. He was born near Reading, Pennsylvania, in a log cabin in Exeter Township. Squire Boone, (Daniel Boone's father) was known as a weaver and blacksmith, and met Daniel Boone's mother (Sarah Morgan), in Pennsylvania after emigrating from England. Daniel Boone's mother taught him how to read and write and Boone's father taught him wilderness survival skills. Daniel Boone married his wife Rebecca Boone on August 14. The Trail of Tears is no exaggeration as to what happened when the Indians were forced to abandon their home. Having to move to a completely different state with no real explanation as to why, one must wonder, how could this happen? It is hard to imagine how someone could justify uprooting thousands of people. Treated unfairly with all claims being ignored, the Indians were forced to move. With legalization by the government it is clear to see how easy it is for history repeats itself.

In 2007, the Jamestown settlement celebrated its 400th anniversary. The governing body of Virginia, the Virginia General Assembly, held a session there, a parade was held, and even Dick Cheney and Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom attended a ceremony honoring the historic site where English settlers would first find a permanent home in the future United States (Lessig and Payne, 2007). Looking backward, it seemed almost inevitable that the settling of Jamestown was the beginning of the United States as it’s known today.

British history from 1600 to 1650 wasn’t the best time of history for british people. Britain had a society from 1600 to 1650. From 1600 to 1650 Britain’s government had kings, queens, laws and punishments for outlaws. Britain also had wars religiously, politically and militarily during that time too.

Slavery began in the early 1600’s and lasted until 1865 when it was finally abolished. For 265 years blacks in the United States were considered property and were treated like animals. Most slaves suffered immensely and did not have the same rights as other people in the United States. Since the slaves had no rights they had to come up with their own way of protesting. Daniel Boone, an American explorer and frontiersman, was born November 2, 1734 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Boone was fathered by a blacksmith and weaver, Squire Boone Sr. and nurtured by his England emigrated mother, Sarah Morgan. Boone was the sixth born and received a skimp formal education, for he learned to read and write from his mother. Boone acquired an education in wilderness and survival skills from his father. Boone just like his father had a niche for woodsmanship and hunting, for at the age of twelve he shot his first bear.
