In life, Maturity is a must. Maturity is a must because it brings balance to your daily life. In a way that you feel more stable. Also, Maturity helps you make better decisions, making better decisions lead to fewer conflicts. And if you faceless conflicts you become more attuned to yourself and know your personality better and that helps a lot in creating a good relationship with someone else. In the study of literature and life experiences, it becomes clear that a person needs to mature to be successful when you are reckless, unambitious, or too dependent. In the novel Crabbe, the author William Bell uses the character Crabbe to portray that a person needs to mature to be successful. In the novel, Crabbe showed bravery and because of that
Mature. The definition of mature is; one that is fully developed physically; fully-grown. To me, mature means you are able to watch out for yourself and others, you are able to have manners, and you are reliable as well as responsible. Mature doesn’t have an age to it. There are many kids who are very young, for example, six or seven, who are mature. Others don’t mature until they are about thirteen or fourteen. It really just depends on the background of that individual. Maturity all ties into the changes that Scout undergoes in the book To Kill a Mockingbird.
Firstly, due to intellectual lessons, Crabbe is forced to positively develop throughout the novel. When Crabbe “set out on [his] journey [he] had no idea where [he] was going and [he] had no map or compass [he] figured it was all pretty simple, [...] [he] didn’t know he was lost” (Bell 68). This speaks to Crabbe’s illogical thinking and also highlights Crabbe’s
Once said by a wise businessman, poet, and humanitarian Samuel Ullman,“Maturity is the ability to think, speak and act your feelings,”(Samuel Ullman). William Bell successfully shows this in his novel Crabbe. Firstly, Franklin Crabbe is a troublesome teenager who is incapable of understanding emotions. Through the novel, readers see his development of feelings towards people and himself. Secondly, Crabbe develops intellectually when he learns that although he is school smart he is not as smart in the wilderness. Lastly, Crabbe is introduced as an antisocial teenager without many friends, except his ‘pal’ Silent Sam (Vodka). Furthermore, Crabbe opens up to his family and makes friends through his journey. Although Crabbe at first is a selfish person, antisocial, and an imbecile, he develops emotionally, intellectually, and socially as a result of his journey in the bush and meeting mary.
Maturity is not a fickle expression such as happiness or frustration, but rather an inherent quality one gains over time, such as courage or integrity. Before maturity can be expressed, the one who expresses it must have significant confidence in himself, since self-confidence is the root of maturity. Being flexible and formulating one's own opinions or ideas are aspects of maturity, but neither is possible without self-confidence. The greatest aspect of maturity is the ability to make decisions which society does not agree with. Whether or not one follows through with these ideas is not important. What is important is the ability to make the decision. These decisions represent the greatest measure
A person's experience is what makes a person mature. For example, if someone has had a lot of experiences he will be a lot more mature. Consequently, even if someone is young they can be very mature. This affects the way a lot of people think of young people. As a result, the age of a person has nothing to do with maturity. In conclusion the experience is what really makes someone mature.
This is shown through Crabbe's alcohol abuse and how he depends on it, how Crabbe acts on impulse and how he acts before he thinks, and through Crabbe's poor personal morals
Maturity is a major theme in S.E Hinton’s novel That was then,This is now. Bryon, the protagonist in the novel, moves from immaturity to maturity after witnessing the actions of his friends and the devastating consequences of those actions. Throughout the novel, Bryon is forced to reexamine his basic beliefs about people and life in general. However, by the end of the story, Bryon proves to be a dynamic character, who changes significantly from the beginning of the novel to the end.
To attain maturity, you must have a loss of innocence. For example, when a kid finds out that Santa Claus is not real, he is disappointed and cannot believe the fact that there is no Santa Claus, because
I believe maturity is not dependent on a person’s age because humans are affected by different situations, are different genders and are raised differently.
“Maturity is when your world opens up and you realize that you are not the center of it.’’
Before we continue, we should discuss what maturity is. According to Wikipedia, the definition of maturity is “ a psychological term used to indicate that a person responds to the circumstances or environment in an appropriate and adaptive manner.” This response is generally learned rather than instinctual, and is not determined by one's age. Maturity also encompasses awareness of the correct time and place to behave, knowing when to act with appropriate emotion for the situation. Maturity incorporates personal accountability, meaning you take ownership of situations you are involved in. By following one’s conscience, you are taking personal accountability.
Becoming mature comes with age and time. Maturity is dependent on a person’s age because they’re more experienced and learned from their mistakes. People mature by learning from their mistakes and improving. For example, in Antigone, when Creon realized many people were affected by putting Antigone to death, he tried to fix it. This shows that he has done something wrong and at the end he learned from it so he would not do it again.
Firstly, Franklin Crabbe experiences personal growth. Crabbe learns how to cope with other people and
Maturity is commonly used word, but when asked what the word means many people simply shrug their shoulders. Maturity isn’t a word that has a clear definition. Being based primarily on one’s connotation, it doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone. Personally I picked this word up through context. However, upon doing a careful study of where this word originates and other’s connotation’s, I feel I’ve achieved a relatively good understanding. Webster claims the word to mean “based on slow careful consideration,” but I feel there is much more to this word than that.
An individual's self-concept is the core of personality. For ordinary people, personality changes with success and failure in life; but for people with intellectual curiosity, maturity is the real artifact of a desired personality. Age is no guarantee of maturity. Maturity of mind is the capacity to endure ups and downs and uncertainty in life. It is an ability to think, speak and act all feelings within the bound of dignity even in the middle of clear and present danger. It takes long time to bring excellence to maturity. Youth condemns; maturity condones. “When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned
