On September 1, North Carolina man by the name of Matthew James Phelps has been charged with murder after stabbing his wife, Lauren Ashley-Nicole Phelps, to death. Phelps claims he was under the influence of cough and cold medicine and does not recall what time it was when he found his hands and dead wife covered in blood with a bloodied knife nearby. Calling 9-1-1 upon waking up to the gruesome scene, Phelps had sounded dazed and confused, according to the operator, freaking out when he realized what he had done. Taking Coricidin, a cold syrup used to suppress common colds, to fall asleep, Phelps had consumed “more medicine than [he] should have” which had caused a cough-syrup-induced psychosis. Corey Jones, a graduate of the University of Akron with a degree in Business Administration and Music, was so passionate about drumming that he organized monthly jam sessions where dozens of musicians from all over South Florida would come to the Bible Church of God and play gospel music—and sometimes a little R&B well into the night. By day, he worked as a public housing inspector and also mentored at My Brother’s Keeper, an organization for black youth, according to his LinkedIn Page. Jones carried a gun for protection because he hauled expensive drumming equipment during his gigs and would be paid in cash. Jones had both a permit and a concealed weapons permit.

On April 22, 1921, Mrs. William A. Servin and her daughter-in-law, both members of the Nyack Women’s Club, went for a hike along Pearl River; a hamlet located roughly twenty miles from Manhattan and just north of the New Jersey border. After traveling along a grown-over path the two women happened upon four children they later described as, “so wretchedly clad and so encrusted with dirt as to seem scarcely human.” Disturbed by the children’s unkempt appearance and fearful for their overall well-being, Mrs. Servin contacted the county truant officer and local law enforcement to investigate.

It has only been 19 years since the death of Matthew Wayne Shepard, who is also known as Matt. How and why he died was and still is very malicious. The suffering of his loss has brought pain to those who knew him and heard about him. But, his tragedy has been of influence to some people. Wade Davis is an ethnographer who also does writing, photographer, and film making. He went to Columbia to study a group of people that was believed to be lost people of the Amazonians. The question that has been brought up for this paper is whether or not Wade Davis is a good ethnographer? Most people would probably bring up that he only does ethnography for the chance to use drugs. I won’t bring that up but the stuff that I saw in the movie, Light at the Edge of the Earth.
The Dred Scott Decision of 1857 ruled that African-Americans, even ones who were not enslaved, were not protected under The Constitution and could never be citizens. This brings up questions that will be answered in this paper. Should slaves be American citizens? Is it morally correct for one to own another human? Does the Dred Scott decision contradict The Declaration of Independence which states that every man is created equal?
In recent years, there have been many cases of the rich “getting away with murder.” One example that I absolutely love is, Ethan Couch. All at the age of 16, Ethan Couch was driving under the influence of stolen beer cases. When he killed 4 people and injured 9 people all together. Couch was then indicted with 4 charges of intoxicated manslaughter, but the judge only gave him 10 years of probation. Since it was argued that he had “affluenza.” Affluenza’s dictionary definition is “a psychological malaise supposedly affecting wealthy young people, symptoms of which include a lack of motivation, feelings of guilt, and a sense of isolation.” This basically gave him a get out jail free card, since his parents were too rich to teach him to be a

Judy was deeply hurt by what had took place in her life, and she did not want to see it happen to someone else; so she took the chance to make a change in
The derivation of the English term, "Moor," is the Greek word, "μαυρο" or "mavro" which accurately means "black, blackened or charred", says taneter.org. They go on to then say, how this English term ‘Moor’ has been used to describe black or very dark things such as, "Mavri Thalassa" which refers to the Black Sea. Ancient Greeks used this term to describe the complexion of Africans or objects of that matter. The origination of the term ‘Moor’ is even used in various terms that describe the color ‘black’. For example the Spanish word ‘blackberry’, is translated in Spanish as ‘zaramora’ , which carries the root word ‘mor’. The term ‘Moor’, also define a partial part of our postsecondary education, and example of this can be Morehouse College. The college itself describe itself as, “The only all-male historically black institution of higher learning in the United States.” They go on to even then designate it as, “the college of choice for black men.” It is now evident of the trend that initiated from Renaissance ages in Europe to our everyday lives today. Therefore it creates a proposal asking us, what was the influential things the Moors brought to Europe during the age of the Renaissance? The influential things the Moors brought to Europe during the Renaissance ages in Europe were, Universal Education, Medicine, Fashion and
