Mary Lou Retton was a girl from a large town with a major hobby. Mary Lou was born on January 24, 1968 in fairmont West Virginia, she had 4 sisters and brothers. Mary Lou’s parents are Louis Retton and Ronnie Retton. Louis was a homemaker (stay at home mom) and Ronnie had quite a lot of jobs that included being a security guard; business owner, a former baseball and basketball player and a coal and equipment transporter. At the age of 4 Mary Lou studied dance and acro bactics, this eventually led to her joining gymnastics. She enjoyed gymnastics so much that she practiced many times at home. One time she watched the 1976 Olympics in Montreal and practiced gymnastics at the same time at age 8, she recalls being in a split as she was watching.

Mary Abigail Wambach, otherwise known as Abby Wambach, was born on June 2nd, 1980 in Rochester, New York. She is the youngest of 7 children, 4 older brother and 2 older sisters. Her childhood was filled with playing whatever sports her older siblings were playing. Even though she was the youngest she was still able to be compete with her older siblings and their friends. In high school she focused on her two favorite sports basketball and soccer. The first heartbreak of her playing career game came during her senior year of high school soccer. During the state Championship game her team blew a 3-0 lead and eventually lost 4-3. While Abby scored two goals in this game, she still considers this one of the biggest disappoints of her playing career.

Mary Ann Cotton was born October 31 1832 and died on March 24 1873. She was England’s first female murderer as her murders reached the front cover of every single news stand in Britain. She is best known for killing three of her four husbands, apparently in order to collect on their insurance policies. Overall she killed and poisoned 21 people in total ,including eleven of her thirteen children. Moreover, she grew up in the City of Sunderland, Endlnad. At the age of 8 her parents moved the entire family to the County Durham village of Murton. While in school, she was extremely lonely and did not make any friends. Right after the move, her father fell to his death down a mine shaft. After her father’s death, her mother remarried to George Stott. Mary found it difficult to get along with him and at the age of 16 she eventually moved out to become a nurse.After three years studying to become a nurse, Mary’s dreams fell apart as she returned home to live with her mother and eventually became a dressmaker.

As as result of the relocation of people from England to Australia, it turned Australia into the land of opportunity and made for a better world. It benefited England and the world for many reasons such as securing trade routes with China. The movement of the convicts also spread fear among english society deterring crime. Furthermore, some of the convicts were fortunate enough to the opportunity to live and potentially earn their freedom. Crime rates rose and England's jails become overcrowded with prisoners they resorted to using prison hulks as temporary, makeshift confinements on the river Thames eventually leading to the penal transportation to Australia.

After days of researching, I have developed a clear understanding of who Shirley Chisholm is. Chisholm was an educator, activist, author, and politician. She is best known as the first African-American woman elected to United States Congress and the first woman and African- American to run for president of the United States.

Bonnie Parker met her soon to be husband her second year of high though though shortly into she dropped out. She was married six days after her sixteenth birthday to Roy Thornton. His brushes with law and being gone left their marriage short lived. Although shortly after their marriage he was arrested and sentenced to jail time. Though they never divorced they never saw each other again after January 1929. She still wore her wedding ring until the day she died even while being separated from Roy.

On May 26, 1949 a country music icon was born, but no one knew at the time. Hank Williams Jr, was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to a loving, country family. Hank Williams Jr, dad is Hank Williams Sr, who was also a country singer but died at a very young age. Hank followed behind his dad and looked up to him, so he became a country singer. He began singing at a young age, his dad died when he was four and he started singing at the age of eight years old. He pursued his country singing at a young age and appeared on the Grand Ole Opry singing one of his dad’s hit songs.
