Mary Brown Prayer Interview and Reflection
This was a very good interview, and the person I interview was very seasoned in prayer. Here are some of the things we spoke about in the interview, and here are my reflections and thoughts.
Private devotions
In private devotions is it Biblical or more effectual to pray aloud than to pray silently? My interviewee stated that it is good to pray aloud and saliently at times. Sometimes praying aloud keeps your mind from wondering and you can focus on what you are praying about. And sometimes it is good to be quite so you can hear God speak. Cooperate prayer brings unity and togetherness; it shows a cooperative force to our enemy the accuser of the brethren. The Lord has told us to watch and pray to be on guard for our enemy prowls about like a roaring loin seeking those whom he may devour. We are to be to be vigilant and on guard, fully awake, aware, alert and intently focused.
Seeking a sign I asked my interviewee this question, is it safe to ask for a sign in answer to prayer? So many people are seeking signs, but Matthew 16:4 (NIV) says, “A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah. We have to trust and believe that God will and does answer prayer.

Persistence/Being a watchman
God has told us to be persistent in prayer, to be a watchman on the wall. “Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me” (Ezekiel 3:17,
