Huckleberry Finn is one of Mark Twain’s best known books. It combined raw humor and mature material. Huckleberry Finn is the main character in the story. Through Huck’s eyes, the reader sees and judges the south on its faults and redeeming qualities. Jim, a runaway slave is Huck’s companion on his journey. This story was really fun to read. You never knew what was going to happen next. At the end of the story I was surprised at how Twain managed to incorporate the characters from the beginning of the story with the current characters. You would think that after Huck had left his hometown that he would have never seen those characters again. I would not have expected Tom Sawyer to be the nephew of Mr. Phelps.
