Mark McNeil went to college at the University of Houston to run track, and being named an All American Track and Field athlete. After finishing college McNeil went on to pursue a football career for the Miami Dolphins getting hurt and having to quit the game. Which led to him into the path of being a sports agent, in which was not easy at first according to him.
McNeil set out to be this big time sports agent as he had dreamed and he went to work for a big company until he realized what the company was really doing to its clients. He decided to start his own management company which took 8 years to get to a steady point. Kenny Thomas was his first client in which he negotiated a 50-million-dollar contract for the athlete with the Houston Rockets. There were lots of people who questioned him during his building period but when he got his first big client, the hands of the ones who doubted him were the first out. “Don’t let other people influence your path.” Stated by McNeil.
The first major point McNeill made was building lasting relationships with athletes and building trust. You have to introduce yourself to athletes and keep close relationships throughout their college careers son when they do go big, you can big with the. LeBron James has set the new tone for new path the athletes

Which means, the sports industry is expanding rapidly and you just have to find something you like and be the best at it. I really enjoyed getting to her Mark McNeil speak considering the fact that now, I know I do not have to go law school to be a sports agent. I have gotten in contact with him and I think this is a big opportunity for me because as far as an internship goes and finding someone to learn from and someone who is willing to teach

I agree with your assessment that Mark Dwight was a transformational leader with charismatic qualities during his time at Timbuk2. I mentioned in my original post that he was economically motivated in the process of turning around the company raising the revenue from 4 million to 20 million dollars in sales while he was CEO (Supply Chain Cowboy, 2014). I appreciate how you went further to discuss how he made his unpopular decision to move manufacturing to China. There are limitations to an 8 minute video however in another video available on the website of his next business venture Rickshaw Bags, Mark Dwight presents himself in a completely different way. It appears that over the years he has developed his charismatic characteristics appearing

If I had one phone call right now, I would call Adam Silver, the NBA Commissioner, to hear his advice on the sports and law industry. Law school is my current focus so gaining insight from such a respectable legal professional would be extremely helpful as I embark on my career. Mr. Silver has immense experience both in law and sports and I would hope to gain the guidance necessary to tackle my career goals.
Mark Cuban’s analogy with basketball would help a lot with creating a business and having a successful career. I idea that in order to be successful you must still be able to push through exhaustion and still be productive and not a detriment. That in the business world the exhaustion is like where the 4th quarter in a basketball game starts, that is where businesses and games are successful and won. Also, another one of Mark Cuban’s ideas is to control what you can in a business and to make sure that you get the most important matter out of the way first. I think the most important think he said which was probably the simplest and that was to basically show humility, do not believe you are indispensable because once you start to believe that
Dawn Mitchell is an accomplished sports reporter and television personality who has worked in several cities across the country. Most recently, she has worked for the past twelve years in the Twin Cities, at Fox9. Her vast experience and her knowledge of the inner workings of the sports industry made me want to learn a few important things. First, I had the desire to learn how did she get to where she is today? Secondly, I wanted to learn about what happens off camera in the world of sports television. Finally, I wanted to know what advice did she have for students aspiring to have a career in sports.

“There were frustrating times along the way,” McGuire, a 2013 graduate of UConn’s Sport Management Program said. “But if you’re dedicated something will work out.”
Nevertheless, as I have matured, my passion for basketball and the Hawks’ organization evolved from simply being a fan of the team to being inspired and motivated to be a part of an organization revered for its long history of success. I knew that with my passion for sports and prior experience of fan engagement that working in the world of sport marketing and promotions would be the perfect fit. My passion within sport management and marketing even lead me to get my master’s degree in Sport Management to become well-versed and knowledgeable about the industry. It excites me to know that working with a sport franchise as successful as the Atlanta Hawks can provide me with the opportunity to live out a lifelong dream of working alongside creative, motivated, and upbeat individuals much like myself to promote and market new and establish client’s accounts to customers. I could not consider another organization better than the Hawks that would offer me a challenging, creative, and friendly environment that will allow me to grow and develop my skills in marketing. I will assure you that I will be a great addition to the Atlanta Hawks’

Today I worked with Mark Stewart out of Flushing, NY. We spent the day together going over set integrity in his store. We walked the bays together and uncovered a lot of issues that need to be addressed prior to the walk (ex. POP, Displays, Executions, etc..). We put together an action plan and I will be back in the store with him next week to give him additional support. Mark will be good to go by the time of the walk.
Michael Jordan has also helped me to realize how important it is to not waste the talents god has given me. I have been playing sports since the seventh grade. I always thought when I was younger that if I wanted to be successful, it was appropriate for me to give up. However, after watching YouTube videos of Michael Jordan and seeing how much he enjoys shooting basketball and teaching his teammates about the sport, I have realized that I also love teaching and learning. Therefore, I have not chosen to limit myself to career and instead to open my mind up to many things. Once I earn my Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, I want to own a Sport’s Agency. As Michael Jordan said,” In any investment, you expect to have fun and make money” (Michel
