Towards the beginning of the play Anne feels jealous of her sister Margot and often wishes she could change and be like her. Anne feels that her Mother likes and values Margot more than her. This of course makes Anne jealous and makes Anne more jealous of Margot. In the beginning Anne and her Mother can’t really connect or seem to agree on anything. Anne’s Mother is always scolding her for being too rambunctious and not acting like a nice, respectful, and young lady. For example: “ You don’t hear Margot getting into arguments with them do you? In the play, The Diary of Anne Frank, Anne is a dynamic character who is disrespectful and immature in the beginning of the play. When Anna had a nightmare in the beginning of the play, her mother came into her room to comfort her. Her mother offered Anne water and to stay with her until she fell asleep, but Anne said it wasn’t necessary to stay. When Mrs. Frank stated, “But I’d like to start with you . . . Very much. Really.” Anne replied, “I’d rather you didn’t” (398). This scene demonstrates Anne is both immature and rude because she rejects her mother’s help. Her mother is likely very hurt by this rejection, especially since, as her mother leaves the room, Anne asks for her father instead. In the end of the play, Anne shows she is a dynamic character by displaying the character traits brave and thoughtful. While Peter and Anne
Anne’s father left the family while Anne was young. It was implied, Anne’s mother never seemed to express much love and affection to Anne. Her step-father showed a difference between his own children and those from Fred. The difference grew into contempt between Raymond and Anne. Anne seemed to have a closer relationship with people outside of her family.
Early on in her life Anne realizes that she doesn’t like the way that Africans are treated. As soon as she is old enough to become even somewhat independent she begins to become involved in the rights movement. This causes her major issues within her family. The issues arise for a couple of reasons. For one, her family doesn’t agree with the movement. Anne’s mother is especially against it because she believes it puts Anne in danger. The other major reason that it cause issues in her family is because it puts them in danger. The small town where she comes from is extremely racist
Every person experiences feelings. Whether they are hate, jealousy, sadness, and joy. One of the main feelings expressed in the play, is jealousy. Jealousy is a very important emotion, this is because it can make people who are jealous of one another to do things they never imagined themselves to do. The thing that comes with jealousy is a rivalry, if you are jealous of your fellow opponent, then you are going to have a very heated rivalry. This was a huge factor in the Salem Witch Trials.

Towards the beginning of the play, Peter and Anne have a teasing and kind of playful relationship. They don’t totally like each other, but they’re also very different. Anne is closer to her father than anyone else, but she doesn’t really enjoy her mother. Anne and Margot are fairly close, but Anne seems pretty jealous of Margot and her looks. Mrs. and Mr. Van Daan seem kind of rude to her.
Anne had always maintained a close relationship with her mother. She respected her work ethic and her determination to raise her family the best she could. Yet most young women face a time in their lives when their relationship with their mother is strained. This somewhat natural occurrence took place, but was intensified by Anne's own discovery of how the world really worked, in terms of race relations. I think that Anne always found her mother's lack of communication, regarding the race situation, as a weakness. This created more distrust for her mother at an already vulnerable time in her life.
Anne is treated harshly by those around her. . "Harsh words and shouts are constantly being flung at my head, though I'm absolutely not used to it. According
A4. There are a few characteristics that Antonia exhibits that lead to Cather's admiration of her. One of them is Antonia's ability to be a hard worker. For example, after Antonia's father died, she helped her mother and brother work in the fields. One quote that proves this is "If I rode over to see her where she was ploughing, she stopped at the end of the row to chat for a moment, then gripped her plough handles, clicked to her team, and waded on down the furrow, making me feel like she was now grown up and had no time for me". This quote shows that Antonia was growing up and becoming a hard worker in the aftermath of her father's death because she only talked to Jim for a moment before going back to work. Another characteristic that Antonia exhibits that led to Cather's admiration of her is her
Anne matures throughout the course of her diary entries, moving from detailed accounts of basic activities to deeper, more profound thoughts about humanity and her own personal nature. “I know what I want, I have a goal, an opinion, I have a religion and love. Let me be myself and then I am satisfied. I know that I’m a woman, a woman with inward strength and plenty of courage.” This shows that Anne matures through the course of her diary, she considers herself as a woman rather than a young girl and sets goals for herself that she wants to achieve. Anne becomes more optimistic even after she feels misunderstood by everyone and feels completely alone.
Anne Frank had trouble with her parents but she also had some things she could compare both parents. For instance they both did not care whether her reports were good or bad as long as she was well and happy. They both made her mad at times and they are both her parents whether she likes it or not. Each parent had their own way of viewing Anne and each one of them cared for Anne at least a little. It also seemed like they each had a favorite child Anne’s mummy had Margot as a Favorite it seemed and it also seemed as if Anne’s Father’s favorite was Anne.
Throughout her time of hiding, Anne had a diary where she could express her thoughts and feelings about the situation. She wrote down what was happening, how she feels about what's happening, and her opinions on the people she is living with. Her opinion of her mother changed as they were there. For what I can tell before hiding, Anne loved and cared for her mother as much as anyone else in her family. As time went on, her mother was unbearable to Anne. Anne wrote, "Mother is unbearable. She insists on treating me like a baby." Anne says this because she believes that she is able to
The third change in Anne's emotions happens when she rejected her mother for her father. We see that from the beginning, she always loved her father more than her mother and she didn’t have any interest in loving her mother. One night, she started to have a nightmare and woke up screaming. She disturbed the whole house, or annex, and her mom came to calm her down. Anne lays down and her mom tries to comfort her but she rejects her mom. She requests to see her dad and her mom walks out and starts to cry. Later Anne felt guilty for doing it and at the end of the story,
