"When you're out there partying, horsing around, someone out there at the same time is working hard. Someone is getting smarter and someone is winning" by Evan killham. I enjoy this quote because it teaches me how to use my time wisely, and to work hard in everything I do.
I'm a drummer. I've been drumming for five years, and drumming is my passion. The marching band has competitions. it's hard this year because I have after school practice that is 2-3 hours each day. My motivation is this quote because every second I'm practicing is a second my opponent might be playing video games or partying. This school year all I do is eat, sleep, study, and drum. There is not a lot of free time in my day. So I know that I am not wasting my time.

The Quotes I have chosen that speaks out to me the most is by Ronnie Lott and Jerry Rice. “If you can believe it the mind can achieve it” ~ Ronnie Lott. “Today I will do what others won't,so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can't”~ Jerry Rice. The Reason I picked these two quotes was because both quotes inspire me to do good put in hard work and not to give up till the job is done. The way it applies to me is it helps to show me that if you want something you need to go and get it done yourself with hard work, determination,Grit, and Perseverance. The quote by Ronnie Lott meaning of it to me is anything you want to happen it can happen the right mindset you can accomplish anything you set your mind to whether it be to win a state championship
This quote is found in first part of the book in chapter two. I chose this quote because this relates to me, if I put effort and hard work I can do. Just like if Pi he did not any put effort he would have not become a good swimmer but he did same with me even if it is towards my academics or extracurricular, you still have put the same time and effort no matter what you are doing you can accomplish with right mindset. Also, I know that it is hard work but in the end you will be glad that you put effort and time. When I compete for anything I want to give 100% whatever I am doing.
As Newt Gingrich once said, “Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of the hard work you already did.” This quote applies greatly to marching band. Many people like to discredit it as something that is simply “walking around and playing an instrument,” but it is much more than that. We didn’t win championships across the east coast twice by doing something just anyone can do. No one perseveres quite like the band.
It began during my 8th grade year, I started to play in the marching band for the football games and parades. Percussion was my cup of tea because I know that I could nail it by reading and memorizing the music more often. It took me days to memorize my music for the half-time performances, especially for the parades. Meanwhile at the football field for the first time ever, I begin to think that maybe it did not turn out to be bad after all. For the rest of the football season during half-time, I finally got the hang of it. Marching fundamentals was quite a bit confusing. So that took me weeks to figure out remembering the fundamentals before the half-time performance. Back then, I heard a person who was cheering on for me and it just made
I started playing the marching baritone my freshman year of high school and it has been the symbol for a lot of the change that has happened since. I’d played the trombone all through middle school and switching to the baritone meant I almost had to relearn a new instrument. It was heavy, awkward, and I was the only girl who played it, so I almost felt like I wanted to prove myself in a way. But along with the baritone came the whole concept of the marching band and all of the commitments that came with it. Everyone was so outgoing and social that it almost became stressful for me. I was known for my shyness and always being quiet around people, so an environment like that was not exactly my preferred place to be. But, I soon found that it
I work hard to accomplish something phenomenal. I march while playing music that I memorized. We have three after school rehearsals a week for all of marching season, and two weeks of band camp a week before school starts. All the hard work we put in shows when we go to competition.
The University of Wisconsin Marching Band plays a big part in the excitement of Badger athletics. However, there are many important parts that make up the success of the UW- Madison Marching Band. Students and staff are faced with busy fall and winter schedules and the time commitment of being in the band, however their love and interest in this pastime remains strong.
In 5th grade I chose the trumpet and a love began that will follow me for most of my educational career. At first I did not know I would have this love, but this piece of brass I held in my hands would eventually turn into a passion. I grew older starting high school and begin a journey a journey through marching band. Freshman year band camp was absolutely miserable I was told it would be sunny and very very hot. I got there and every single day it rained. I almost quit band after that year just because I hated band camp. That would have been a huge mistake. In my sophomore year I auditioned and made it into the symphonic band. I was ecstatic and ready to become a better player. With a higher chair I had more responsibility I felt like I needed
An anonymous person once said, “You have to learn the importance of hard work before you can achieve your dreams.” Every Band leader should know this. Being a member of band is like being a member of a family that is bigger is much more than a normal family. As a band member you are helping your section and peers become better marching band members. Color guard for instance,as Color Guard Caption I would help my fellow members with marching, memorizing routines, and helping them be in time. As a band section leader I believe I can offer a lot. I believe I can offer help writing complex routines and help organize the routine, help organize more group activities, and help make sure every person feels comfortable and safe in the environment they are being exposed to.
The Drum Major is similar to the conductor of a band that guides a large group of students through a judged performance. Our performance is roughly a ten-minute show, but we spend about ten hours a week rehearsing. This year, my school has a marching band program of over 120 students, each with their own unique talents and personalities. It was my responsibility
Unfortunately, band is always overlook in high school. The students that don't participate in band fail to notice that we are more than just band nerds. Just because band members are A & B students and very good at their instrument dose not mean we are nerds. Marching band is the biggest student run organization at Miramar high school. Band does not get finically supported by the school so band members have to fundraise to keep the organization running. The sport organizations get supported by the school because they think students care more about sports than band. I am a member of the Miramar High School Marching Band/Concert season, and I can tell you thats not true and we should get supported. Miramar High students and teachers
It can be hard to remember everything that everyone said in a lecture, book, or video, but it is much easier to retain a powerful quote. Moreover, you don't have to spend hours going through the material to find the golden nuggets; instead, you can get access to some of the best things people have said through motivational quotes that they and other people have shared.

Most important of all marching band gave me more confidence. Before I joined marching band, I wouldn’t utter a single word to someone I didn’t previously know. Being in marching band, I was surround by people I didn’t know. It was very scary to me at first, but I learned to become more confident and overcome it. There were times when I had to do something on my own and it was hard for me, but it gave me a challenge that pushed me to become more extroverted. Now I meet new people in the band and I confidently talk to them without worry. I still improve myself on this daily and it is a slow process, but if hadn’t done marching band I would barely speak at all. Thanks to marching band, I have more
“I will work harder!” and “Napoleon is always right.” are my two favorite quotes. Working hard can lead to a very successful life for all the animals on the fantabulous Animal Farm. Our farm is great because, everyone, except the cat, does a lot of work, I do more work but that’s to make sure the farm runs smoothly. You can usually find me doing work out in the field or dragging rocks to the windmill sight. The windmill was going perfectly and we were almost were done and then Snowball knocked it down. A few days ago a chicken asked me why I work so hard and still get nothing in return, I replied “I may be a simple work horse but I know that working hard conquers a lot of problems.” There is another thing, I remember Old major’s speech it
