Greetings, On behalf of the Pike County Department of Human Resources, we would like The Home Gallery to know that we are extremely grateful for the items donated towards our March of Dimes Auction. The auction will take place in efforts to raise funds and awareness for the March of Dimes. March of Dimes Foundation is an organization that assists with financial support for premature babies. In the state of Alabama alone, there are 6,926 babies born preterm, 1,800 born with birth defects, and 500 babies die annually before reaching their first birthday. Your donation will make a huge difference in the lives of these families. We thank you greatly for your kindness.
Then, the organization was comprised of volunteers and researchers in a partnership, and today the same holds true. The March of Dimes website states that their main mission for the organization is that “March of Dimes researches, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threat to their health (March of Dimes website).” The inevitable goal of course is to fight until prematurity and birth defects no longer exist.
We need your help to continue these and other critical March of Dimes programs in 2015 so every Florida baby has a healthy beginning! Please consider your most generous gift and give by Thursday, December 31st at marchofdimes.org/florida or mail your gift to March of Dimes Palm Beach Division 2301 Centrepark West Dr., Suite 125, West Palm Beach, FL 33409. Please use enclosed envelope to send your donations. Together, we can end premature birth forever!
Reading the description for the 2016 Alice Walker award presented to Mary Alice Bellardini by the League of Women Voters, explains who she is – a commitment to service, independent spirit, sense of justice and ability to focus on need. This Lemoyne College graduate has made service to her community a calling card. From starting as a teacher, to running a mail order business in Homer for 8 years, through running the Cortland Downtown Business Association, she has always been active. In 1974, she helped to found the Landmark Society of Cortland County, an organization that seeks through education, research and community awareness to promote the preservation of the historic character of Cortland County, and especially downtown Homer. In 1980,
Cancer, the leading cause of death by disease past infancy among children in the United States, causes an estimate of 15,780 children to be diagnosed with the disease and of that same number, 1,960 will die from the disease in the United States (Cancer in Children and Adolescents ). A variety of cancerous diseases contributes to causes which can end a child's life as soon as it appeared. A leading charity organization, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, has helped push the overall cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% in the last 50 years since it first opened. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity centered around helping people, is a non-profit charity that you should donate to because
For week seven assignment, I chose the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes does incredible work with babies who are premature and they also focus on keeping mother’s healthy during pregnancy to prevent infant mortality. The March of Dimes was created in 1938 by Franklin D. Roosevelt to combat polio which was on the raise at that time.

The March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization, has helped many children who were born prematurely. As a mother who experienced the fear and uncertainty of seeing your child in an incubator and connected to breathing devices, I empathize with people who need the expertise that this organization provides. One of the signature campaigns that March of Dimes sponsors are walk-a-thons and most people donate their time and monies during this fund-raising process. With this in mind, it is apparent that the March of Dimes utilizes the concepts such as philanthropy giving, social networking, and long-term solvency. In addition to these concepts, the March of Dimes has developed a “case for support” (Worth, 2014, p. 273).
Purpose: To inform my audience that there are kids out there that need our help and to have the audience persuade to donating.
We believe in hard work, self-sufficiency, civility, helping our neighbors and equal opportunity. We believe our children are our future, and if they don’t succeed as productive members of society and engaged citizens, the idea of Washington County will disappear.

Make A Wish Foundation helps children all over the United States and its other regions. They find a child with a condition that is very serious and terrifying to them and grant them a wish. This changes that child’s whole life because it shows that these people and that other people around the world care for them like their family does. It gives them the hope and faith they need to keep going and never give up in life. These children are diagnosed at a very young age and the life-threatening conditions that these children have are very serious. The Make A Wish Foundation takes their minds off of what they are undergoing and all of the pain. They give back in the world because they have been blessed with a wonderful life. They help out people who need their help and the joy and happiness from the children is all worth a little time and effort (independentagent.com).
JDRF was created by Lee Ducat in New York in the 1970s to be able to raise money to find a cure for type one diabetes (source two). Type one is genetically contracted so there is no way to be able to tell if you get it or how it well affect you (source one). It was through the research of this report and recommendation that March of Dimes to recommended to receive $5,500 to continue its medical research along with supportive health care programs. It was based off when looking closer at the expense, during further break down of its total programming, it showed a lacking amount of allocation of funding towards for these areas.
