Magical Beasts Throughout the series of Harry Potter, many creatures appear in the books and put into greater detail in the movies. Were these famous magical creatures made up or compared to something similar in mythology and folklore? There are many famous creatures throughout the story that add curiosity to one?s mind when first reading about one. The feeling one may get is to be able to see what this creature is capable of doing in comparison to others. In each book and movie, there is usually a creature that Harry, Ron, and Hermione have to overcome, such as the Basilisk in the second movie. The creatures from Harry Potter that are portrayed in folklore are similar in many ways, yet different in others. Some creatures were actually made up, but the most known ones, such as Fluffy and Fawkes, are actually compared to other similar creatures. Most of these magical creatures or sometimes referred to as ?beasts?, come from Greek and Roman mythology as well as European mythology. The characteristics from some of the folklore creature were kept the same while others were completely changed. One of the most popular Harry Potter creatures is Fluffy, the three headed dog. The creation of Fluffy was influenced by a creature in Greek mythology known as Cerberus. Cerberus was a three-headed beast who guarded the underworld for Hades while Fluffy was a three-headed dog that guarded a trap door that led to the philosopher?s
A hero can be defined as someone who places themself at great risk, while performing acts of courage. This definition can be related in the epic poem, Beowulf, and the novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer 's Stone. In each story, both leading characters are born destined to defeat the most evil creature in their world. Beowulf is the oldest surviving epic poem in the world. “Beowulf” was written in 1000 AD, in Old English form. In this poem the main character, Beowulf, challenges an evil monster, Grendel and a dragon, to a battle to save Denmark. 1,300 years later, in 1997, the novel Harry Potter and the Sorcerer 's Stone was published. Written by JK Rowling, Harry Potter became an instant success and was read by millions of people all over the world. In this novel, the main character, Harry Potter, is sent to Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry. At Hogwarts, Harry realizes that it is his destiny to kill Lord Voldemort, the most evil creature in the wizard world. Even through culture change, Harry Potter and Beowulf can be compared. They can be compared because both heroes are destined to fight evil, lead a group of people, and save the innocent lives of others.
There are hundreds of mythical creatures. They have different backgrounds, some simple some complex, different habitats, climate, and behavior activity. A popular mythical creature is a skriker also known as a demonic black dog. The black dog has a complicated history, lives in and around european countries, and interacts differently with other organisms.

During this session, l would like to ask you questions about your adventure to defeat Voldemort. One of the reoccurring events that takes place in the beginning of the book include Harry 's desire to hear from his friends. He has gone a couple of months without receiving word, or owl post, from any of his fellow wizards. He is reminded several times that he seems to have no outside friendship from his home. With his encounter with Dobby, the house elf, Harry cannot help but feel left out and unwanted. This feeling is added to by the hatred that his foster family, the Dursley 's, share for him. Dudley, Harry 's cousin, basically rubs the fact that Harry has no letters from his friends in his face. To add to Harry 's unease and loneliness, is the fact that Harry 's birthday has arrived with no more
These creatures have been talked about for centuries. They are used in lots of old folktales and myths. The Indians thought of them as a gateway to the spirit world. They were seen as god like creatures to many tribes including the most famous for these myths is the Innu tribe. “The Kuekuatsheu is the Innu Wolverine, a conniving trickster character who lies, cheats, is greedy, and basically acts completely inappropriately by Innu standards.” This quote was by the Native American Languages. Another myth is that they give you good fortune and will bless your offspring. This can be seen in a popular anime series called the avatar. As you can see there is more to these animals than we
This book is probably one of the best book I've read. The story is very interesting, I was amazed how the author made a twist and exciting story about the demi gods. I always wondered what would happen next. Some partof the story were filled with fear and emotion some are action. In the story there was a guy named Percy Jackson. He is the son of Poseidon and Sally Jackson. On the sixth-grade year, Percy discovered that there is something wrong about him, until he knows that he is a half-human and half-blood. He is taken to camp Half-blood in New York , a camp of youth and kids just like him to become safe from monsters that like to attack half-blood , at the camp Percy knows a lot of things about himself. His father is Poseidon the bother

Does a certain kind of animal consistently appear in your life? This doesn’t necessarily have to be a physical appearance, it could be represented in other ways, such as receiving card and letters with the same animal pictured over and over, unexplainable dreams of a particular animal, watching television and seeing the same animal featured time and time again, or, actually having the animal show up.
In Harry Potter there are magical creatures. You meet the creatures throughout the story. They are brought up in different parts and in different situations. Some of these creature are good and some are horrible. Some examples of these creatures are the unicorns, dragons, and the centaur. These creatures have certain abilities or special powers.
In J.K. Rowling, Harry potter and the sorcerer stone shows that a person can become so afraid of something that they will rather not mention it than face it, which does not put an end to the fear. Many people are afraid of things in life and in Harry potter all of the wizards are afraid of Voldemort and refuse to say his name. Voldemort is a wizard who turned bad and went around killing everyone who would not join him which included Harry Potter parents. Since this happen majority of the wizard world became really afraid of him to the point that they called him “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named” (Rowling,85). instead of his true name.
The entertainment industry is one of the most popular forms of recreational activity for many people. With the movie industry being a large factor of the entertainment industry, it is no wonder that roughly $36 million is spent solely on the marketing costs for a movie (McClintock). The movie industry throws so much money into their movie trailers in an attempt to attract the largest consumer base possible in order for their movie to have a high profitability. Several different factors are involved in the process of making a movie trailer and the use of these factors can drastically affect whether or not the movie trailer becomes a success and attracts a large consumer base or utterly fails and does not attract a large audience. The movie trailer for Fantastic
The power of love in Harry Potter is unlike any other. So much so that it is an overwhelmingly significant and recurring theme throughout the entire series. From the self-sacrificial love of Lily Potter to the loving mother Molly Weasley to the unrequited love of Severus Snape. There is also the misunderstanding, or the absence, of love; which is equally as important in the novels. Especially since it was the main difference between Voldemort and Harry that was incredibly essential to the storyline. So essential that J.K. Rowling went out of the way to tell us about it in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone when Dumbledore said, “if there is one thing Voldemort cannot understand, it is love” (229, SS). The concept of love is woven so inextricably within the very fabric of the novels, that it continues to challenge the reader all the way until the very end.
