If kids aren't exposed to politics or informed on why they should vote then I don't believe decreasing the voting age will make much of a difference. I think that lowering the age to vote would have a bigger turnout then keeping it at 18. The only thing to disprove this argument is, ( younger voters show a lack of civic responsibility). Athough 16 is a young age to vote , it does not mean they dont have a clear openion on how they want to live. If you think about it, two years later their an adult and now living their life with a presadent that they had no say over.

Voting is what allows our governement to make the best decisions for our country. However some people believe that we should allow younger voters (16 years of age) to vote for our country. Recently, there was an article about decreasing the voting age by 2 years. Lowering the voting age to 16 would be a mistake for maturaty reasons.

The legal voting age here in the United States, is 18 years old. It's a considerable time for people to start voting around that time, due to the fact that most 18-year-olds will be out of High School and be entering the real world. The problem with lowering it to, "16 years of age" wouldn't be a wise decision. Due to the fact that High Schools at that age would most likely be entering their Junior Year and would have to focus on their own curriculum. Anothering to note: they wouldn't be mentally ready to have that kind of right. Giving them time to know how politics work and how the real world works, gives them the knoledge to who to vote for and what political party preference they would choose based on the canidate.
