Benefits to a Low Carb Diet

A diet low in carbohydrates can treat many conditions and diseases such as obesity, type II diabetes, some cancers and epilepsy. A low carb diet helps to lower bad cholesterol as well as the overall cholesterol of dieters. It can lower systolic blood pressure, increase energy and improve emotions.

In the case of diabetics, it can bring about improved levels of blood glucose which will lead to less sugar cravings, less emotional eating and decreased bloating. With some people, it can cause improved dental hygiene too. When someone goes on a low carb diet, they'll see a quicker weight loss and improved triglyceride levels.

It can be sweetened, unsweetened or fresh.

Dairy in Your Diet

Low carb doesn't mean that you have to stay away from dairy. Cheeses like cottage cheese, Emmental and Gouda are free of most of the sugars normally found in milk. If you really want milk, you can use unsweetened soy milk, which is a plant based protein with low carbs. Almond milk is another great choice for low carb dieters.
