How does the author make connections her many ideas on love? Connections between the heavens, earth , and everything in between. In “loves vocabulary” Diane Ackerman is showing different types of love for an example day dream and nightmare, you have crowds cheering and beasts, fear love can be shown as a nightmare and daydream and also ancient delirium (old).
To start off with is nightmares and daydreams , you have easy love and hard love. Love can be scary, frighten but can be amazing. Love commands a vast army of moods. Love can be dangerous and harsh but love can be joyful and happy. Love is like a war you have a battle between good and bad u can either fight till u get what u want or u don’t fight and loose what u got and now had. You can’t fake love or there won’t be no faith nor loyal u can depend on one person and put all the pressure on then u need to fight as well.

Love can be old such as, you been with your loved one for quite a long time. According to researching and the text it states “a desire older the civilization”. The author wants younger kids like teenagers to know staying in love for a lifetime is stressful and tough but it is worth working for! Love barely lasts long but knowing it can it is so beautiful. Love is old, love is new, love is all, love is you. Love is an expression of emotion. Love, it is said, can make you walk miles barefoot in the rain just to see the person you can't stop thinking about. Or, it can make you cross the street because the store "you love" is located there. Love is a versatile word — like what it describes. Love takes many forms, but the word typically describes an affection that is deep and emotional. If you say you’re “in love,” that tends to refer to the romantic kind of
Diane Ackerman’s purpose for writing her essay “Love’s Vocabulary” is to inform the readers that love is a unique emotion that we use in such an unorganized manner. This is demonstrated through the mystifying connotation of the word “phenomenon” and the appalling connotation of the word “sloppy”, which suggest her irritated tone about the meaningless and perplexing way we use the word “love” to express a distinctive and remarkable emotion. Her use of figurative language, particularly metaphors and oxymorons, reveal Ackerman’s view of love as a complex emotion which varies in the way how people convey it towards someone and how it makes one feel. This connects to her disapproving attitude about the foolish way we use the word “love”, which in
What is love? Love is a force that can be the light in your life or it can be the gun loaded to your head with a full magazine. Romeo and Juliet and “Love’s Vocabulary” are two pieces of text that show the horrid and extravagant side of love. Romeo and Juliet was told to be written in 1595 by William Shakespeare. Shakespeare was a excellent writer and poet,
Love is a powerful emotion that every human being has experience at least once in their life. There are numerous connotations that refer to this emotion, but there is only one kind of love that can make a person change completely in unexpected ways. It is the kind of love that consumes the soul and everything within. Mixed with excitement, adventure, heartbreak, happiness and joy; it is a big ball of feelings, all concentrated in one simple, yet extremely complicated necessity to have, protect, please and give all of oneself to that one person. In certain occasions, love can grow very intense and, consequently,
Love is a feeling between two people that comes with lots of emotions, respect, commitment, trust, honesty, and many other values. In the story The Great
Love is said to be one of the most desired things in life. People long for it, search for it, and crave it. It can come in the form of partners, friends, or just simply family. To some, love is something of a necessity in life, where some would rather turn a cold shoulder to it. Love can be the mixture of passion, need, lust, loyalty, and blood. Love can be extraordinary and breathtaking. Love being held so high can also be dangerous. Love can drive people to numerous mad things with it dangerously so full of craze and passion.
Love is defined in numerous ways. It is one of the first and foremost feelings that each being experiences throughout their lifetime. The simple word goes a long way, as it triggers differing images to people. For instance, there is the romantic love that many aspire to have. Additionally, there is also familial and neighborly love. However, as great as love is, the authenticity of it is what discombobulates many. Love may be the feeling that is life sustaining, but at the same time, it can also be life threatening. Humans are vulnerable to fall into an untruthful love due to the fact that we fantasize over the thought of being in love. Through William Shakespeare’s tragic play, “Romeo and Juliet,” a fabricated false love is manifested. Thus, the star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, loved impetuously rather than genuinely, as they did not comprehend the perception of true love.
Have your ever thought of how challenging love can be? Love can be addressed in multiple ways. It is a strong emotion that people grew up around from a young age. As stated in the essay, Love’s Vocabulary, “What is my goddaughter to think when she hears her mother say; “I love Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream”; “I really loved my high school boyfriend”; “ Don’t you just love this sweater?” “I’d love to go the lake for a week this summer”; “Mommy loves you.”
Love is a force that inspires us to feel more, do more, and sometimes sacrifice for the object of our attention. Poems, music, relationships are all written in the name of love. There are six kinds of love, according to the ancient Greeks:
Love is one of the most beautiful things that an individual can experience. It leads people into doing things that they would not do in their original senses. According to the dictionary, love is “ an intense feeling or deep affection for someone.” Even though love seems to be the best thing on earth, it can also be the worst. When love is not not mutual, feelings can be hurt. Most people experience the negative side of love one time or another in their lifetime. Even though society sees it as love, it can sometimes be mistaken for lust. Someone’s most dramatic time of love (or lust) is usually during their teenage years when they are more more exposed to the things happening in this world. As hormones kick in, life becomes an everlasting
When I think of what love is after reading the work of literature, I think of my oldest sister and I. These two relationships are such opposites yet great examples of what love really is. Being sisters creates a bond that can never be broken. We feel our love inside, we know we are there for each other, but not everyone can see it. In Romeo and Juliet their love is expressed in such a different way. For Juliet, it is passionate and overwhelming, for everyone to see. Love is a feeling that is expressed differently among different people. As Max Muller once said, “A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love.” Love is such a specific word and can be shown in such different ways, yet it is essential to living my
The definition of love is "an intense feeling of deep affection or a great interest and pleasure in something." Now those definitions don’t apply to everyone, love has different meanings to everyone. For example love can mean trust, commitment, dependability. For some that is big and scary and terrifying and other it’s exciting and wonderful. Now love can also be painful.
Love is the source of passion which can bring you many kinds of feelings. Love is blind and it is like a roller-coaster. Excitement, satisfaction, or the opposites may play a main role. Love is chemistry, love is a passionate commitment, or love is our lives.
Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently. Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be experienced in many different ways.
Love is everything in our life, and no one can live without love, but there is a misunderstanding in the meaning of love. Most of people think that love is only between a guy and a beautiful lady, and a guy send a red rose to his beloved. This is wrong, because love can be between wife and husband in “Remember” by Christina Rossetti, and can be between daughter and father in “Poem at thirty nine” by Alice Walker, and can be between mother and son in “A Mother in a Refugee Camp” by Chinua Achebe, and between grandmother and antique shop in “ My Grandmother” by Elizabeth Jennings , and can be one sided love in “I don’t love you except because I love you” by Pablo Neruda , and finally between a guy and beautiful lady in “ Because she would ask me why I loved her” by Christopher Brennan.
Love is a certain emotion or feeling inside every individual. Most individuals at a point in their life have faced love, whether it’s being loved or have loved. Love appears to be the foremost principal objective that all individuals strive for in their lifetime. Love is one of the view things all individuals can come together and agree on that we need. There are different types of love, but my experience of love can be different from others. Being able to love yourself is very vital if you are trying to love someone else. However, love is not a good or bad thing, it has its pros and cons just like every other feeling.
