A story that can stand the test of time such as Romeo and Juliet and it’s not just because shakespeare wrote it. The reason this story stays one of the best stories of all time is because it relates to the problems of society. Which means it typically can relate to almost anyone that reads it. Given in our human nature, having something in common usually draws us in. Now most parents have eventually had to deal with their kids dating someone that they do not approve of. Which in those cases the parent can deal with it or just prohibit them from dating that person. In today’s generation this relates as quantity of parents are learning that their kids are interested in the same sex. If Romeo and Juliet’s parents did know about the marriage before they died, it doesn’t mean they would have accepted the situation. Now we see the acceptance of the marriage after the death of both of their kids. That may have only happened because they died and were forced to look deeply at what their hate was causing. Most things in the world will not change until something bad happens. Take school shootings for example, school security was very little to none at one time. Kids had to go to school as it was law, however they were not in a very safe place. When school shootings started to happen, security finally went up as a result. In the end a good result was born, but human ignorance was what makes us ignore a problem until something so bad happens that we can look away. A gay
Love is dark and bright, and it is also depressing and happy. A young boy named Romeo has a major change in his idea of love. Romeo starts out in love with a girl, Rosaline, but it is depressing for Romeo, because she does not return his love. But right when Romeo sets eyes on a young girl named Juliet, he forgets about Rosaline, and he is in love and filled with joy that Juliet loves him back. In William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, the concept of love that Shakespeare shows at the beginning of the play is that love is heart breaking, sad, depressing, and longing for one that does not love back. But then there is a sudden break with the past, and Shakespeare shows us that true love is instant,
Love is something everyone feels, and is different for everyone. It can make people do things that they could never see themselves doing. It impacts everyone in their day to day lives. Have you ever felt an extremely strong crush on someone to the point where you think you’re in love… only to fast forward a year you’re wondering what attractive qualities you saw in that person? “Eros” is an ancient Greek word for love at first sight, or love by looks. The famous play Romeo and Juliet goes forward in time by revealing the dangerous issue of “Eros” love that even modern-day teenagers face. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is a tragic story about a young man and woman who fall in love by appearance and eventually commit suicide over each other’s death. The danger of Eros can be seen best through Romeo with what he thinks, says, and does.
Different Types of Love in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet In Romeo and Juliet, love is an integral theme and there is many representations of love; family love, courtly love, sexual love, and most importantly; the love between Romeo and Juliet. By comparing their love to others, we can see just how committed the star-crossed lovers are. We first see examples of sexual love when Sampson and Gregory are talking at the very beginning of the play.
What is love? Is it an object? Is it a feeling? Is it even attainable? Love is everything, it is an object, it is an emotion, and it cannot be bought, stolen, given. Love can only be found. Love is discovered in the most unthinkable places during the most unimaginable times. It can never be predicted who you fall in love with or when you do but all you do know is that you are in love and you would give anything for that person, and for your love to always stay resilient through all other obstacles and distractions. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Montague’s and Capulet’s are know and expected to hate each other until the miracle of love presented its self. Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. They both fell in love when
This world-renowned tragedy is centered on the love between the characters Romeo and Juliet, as the lines above bring out. Although these two teenager's love is the focus of the story, many other views of love are expressed and presented by various characters. Three of these many views include Romeo's love for Rosaline, the Friar Lawrence's view of love, and most significantly, Romeo and Juliet's love for one another.
Love can prove a strong and intense affection towards another person, however teens contain no experience whatsoever, therefore their 'love' proves merely lust. Romeo and Juliet presents a tragic love story, where two young teens fall in love, from opposing families, which results in both of their deaths. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare, uses the repetition of beauty in order to develop a motif of superficial love. The use of this motif suggests that William Shakespeare looks to present the audience that physical attraction should not remain wholly necessary for romantic love.
Love is an intense feeling of deep affection or a sexual attachment to someone. In Romeo and Juliet, a love story by William Shakespeare talks about a couple whose families are in a feud with each other. In the prologue, it states that “ a pair of star-crossed lovers take their life” and “ doth with their bury their parents’ strife.” This means that a pair of a couple together by their brightness or looks take their life ending their families’ feud. In the story, both Romeo and Juliet knew that they are in families who are feuding against each other but continues to love despite the people around warning them.
I think that shakespeare views love as a beautiful thing, but unable to survive in a world of hatred. In Romeo and Juliet they weren’t allowed to be together do to the families that they are in. The reason for that is because Juliet is a capulet and Romeo was a Montague so they were basically enemies.
Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, conveys both the qualities of love and hate in the main and subplots. Romeo and Juliet are forbidden lovers from two rival families, which is the centre focus of the play. The feud forms the hate-filled backdrop of this love story and the play also highlights the mother/daughter relationship between Juliet and the Nurse, and how this is different to the relationship between Lady Capulet and her daughter. During this performance of Romeo and Juliet, there are many examples of love and hate explored by Shakespeare.
Love in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet "Romeo and Juliet" is a love tragedy based on different kinds of loves. Romeo and Juliet become married in a forbidden relationship over the high tension brawl between their rival families which Shakespeare clearly shows in the play. Despite the family brawls, the pair decides to let their "perfect" love defeat all. Peoples ideas have changed in the space of 400 years, for example back then some loves featured in this play would produce different reactions to the audience, than today. Shakespeare opens the play with the chorus who speaks a sonnet, where love imagery is found; "Two Star-crossed lovers" =
Although formally defined as “a strong feeling of affection” by the Oxford Dictionaries, love is rather considered a broad and equivocal subject to many. Perception of affection may differ for anyone, especially for those who had lived in Shakespeare’s time, roughly equivalent to the 1500’s. “Romeo and Juliet”, the novel which Shakespeare had published in 1597, reflects various themes of love to the readers. The tragedy presents several different aspects of love such as love at first sight, the commitment and devotion for love, and teenage love.
The view on love is different through different people’s view. In Romeo and Juliet by WIlliam Shakespeare, a genre based on tragedy, talks about how Benvolio tells Romeo if he is overcome by love then love will hurt you. The one’s you love the most will hurt you the most. Benvolio, Romeo’s cousin, empathizes Romeo when he gets rejected by Rosaline. Benvolio tells Romeo,” “Alas that love, so gentle in his view, Should be so tyrannous and rough in proof!” (1.1. 174-175). What Benvolio is telling Romeo is that sometimes love pretends to be a gentle emotion when it can be really oppressive and harsh. In addition, this evidence supports the topic sentence because it gives a negative feedback when you see how Benvolio views love and says it can

Is love a special connection or is it something more physical? Throughout many centuries the perspective of love has always revolved around an association that the two people have in common. William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, we see how love is diverse; Romeo talked about Rosaline. He mentioned that he was very depressed and even offered her money to marry him. Today, love is a crave, something that people do not take much time to think on.
