Prove It/Elaborate it (This shows that...because): it was Victor’s big chance to impress Teresa, and he wasn’t going to miss it.
What is a paragraph or passage in the first two that stood out to you? Why did that particular passage grab your attention?
His head shot up when his tears had stopped and his face had stiffened, returning back to its original stoic expression. His gaze shifted over to his organ where his piece rests in its leather binding.
I agreed, Michal raised the same question you have posited. However, I think I get it wrong them. To be fair is confusing to me as well. "ALL" doesn't make sense because we have 13 warehouses and approximately half captured in this report, therefore, the term "ALL" might be a bit dicing. Hang in there, I'm hoping to get back to you before the close of today with more definite answers. Thanks and sorry Michal
He sat down and allowed himself a short pull from the waterbag. He scanned the desert, looked up at the sun, which was now sliding down the far quadrant of the sky. He got up, removed his gloves from his belt, and began to pull devil-grass for his own fire, which he laid over the ashes the man in black had left. He found the irony, like the romance of his thirst, bitterly appealing.
Marci awoke at dawn, ready to jump back into life and sail down the coast to Spain. She laid out the map, tracing the coastline and studying the inlets where the boat would seek harbor.
Louis finds himself on the floor of his room, crying, when his last pair of jeans -jeggings really- don’t fit anymore. The button popped right off when he finally got it in through the hole. Twins or not, he’s just nine weeks; it’s too early to be wearing maternity clothes. In a fit, he tosses the stupid button at the wall, yelping when it ricochets back and hits him on the head.
1) “They carried the soldier’s greatest fear, which was the fear of blushing. Men killed, and died, because they were embarrassed not to. It was what had brought them to the war in the first place, nothing positive, no dreams of glory or honor, just to avoid the blush of dishonor. They died so as not to die of embarrassment” (O’Brien 20).
A lithe form slinked through the pristine snow, her paws going numb from the constant unbridling unsuccessful search of prey. Being an experienced hunter now, PigeonEye knew that this was no small dilemma, but an ominous sign. She and a hunting party of three warriors had been sent out to hunt hours ago, and yet still, the terrain seemed barren, devoid of a stable amount of prey to feed their clan. The she-cat shivered and paused for a moment to survey they area, her fellow clan-mates halted and watched her with weary appearances, each thin and poignant. PigeonEye ignored them, an unshattered defiance and determination to serve her clan burning within her. If they did not bring back food when they returned, why return anyway. She was willing to die for her clan, even if she would die for a cause that might be remembered as pitiful foolhardy stubbornness.
The second some portion of this book is more centered around how Augusts cherished one feel about him and with him. I welcome the writer for taking from August family and companions point of view since it will help perusers comprehend the story better with more noteworthy profundity and feeling. For example, just August's family can catch superior to anything anybody what he needs to experience. A decent illustration of would be that they generally guard August against open and never dither. To me, creator's message was excessively mindful individuals of how little acknowledgment we have, and how little we bargain? I trust that on the off chance that it was my kin in August spot I would act likewise to August's kin and folks. It is just characteristic that we think more about our blood relations than whatever other relationship.
The chapter starts off with victor’s dad Juan giving him the talk on of how everyone loves Mexicans, on how he should start studying girls so when time comes he will choose the right one That he should be a brave man and he gave the talk on what he should and should not do in his first day of school such as stop picking his nose. The next day five-year-old victor was so nervous, while in school he didn’t want his mother to leave him and started crying in front of the class. After the teacher and victor’s mom forced victor to stay, a Mexican kid next to him started to comfort him. The teacher then screamed at them for speaking Spanish, she made it clear that English was the primary language in school. Victor was not allowed to go to the restroom,
Saturday morning Danny unexpectedly threw me for a loop when he announced that we would ride on horseback to Monteverde. Much to my displeasure and chagrin, I had to get on a horse. He gave us the option to take the bus that was also taking our luggage, but when I looked around and saw no one else taking the offer, I decided to not take the bus on the less traveled and let me tell you, it made all the difference. By the end of our excursion on the horses, my butt was killing me. It made my highly justified reason to hate horses and the riding of them, a little more
You will not believe what's happened this month. Before I proceed with my usual banter, I would like to greet you and follow through with the formalities in our monthly letters. How are you and Pa? What are you up to during this time of despair? Anyways, on with my stories. This month I encountered one of my biggest personal achievements yet; I single handedly went into a German Aerodrome and was able to rid of three of their planes and fly back to our base intact. I know you and Pa always tell me that I should know that these are people that we are fighting against. But sometimes it is so hard to view these Germans as people. It's the pain and anguish that they cause us that fuels the hatred that's depicted in most slurs and the overall attitude
I was shocked at first when I read this passage because of the tragic events that has happened to this man. As a result I felt extremely sorry that, that has happened to him. However, seeing him answering Liesel's question so bravely, I feel a spark of respect to him because many people doesn't like to talk about their past, especially about the tragic events. For example, when my father injured his hand at work, I kept asking him how he injured it, but no matter how many times I asked, I wasn’t able to get an answer. Instead, he would change the topic immediately. All in all I am extremely proud of this man in the
