Other than preventing bullying in Alec’s school, if I was a character in the book ‘The Losers Club’, I would change the relationships with Alec and his teachers. It is always important to feel comfortable with one’s superiors, especially when they are providing information that is important to listen to and respect. In the beginning of the story, Alec shuts out his teachers during class to read. He wasn’t respecting what his superiors had to teach and say, and this caused a tainted relationship. Even if Alec did have the correct books out for that class, he would use that to hide his reading book to read in the middle of class without being caught. He eventually got caught, and he had to rebuild trusting relationships which can be hard to do.
story were the beginning of the shadow club, jared and cheryl's kiss and the realization that all of the shadow club had pulled all of the pranks. The reasons I believe that the beginning of that shadow club was a big point in the story is because it is the start, the root of all of their problems and it is what caused all of this mess in the first place. Also it was where all of the kids signed their names on the roster saying that they wanted to join this club therefore sealing their fate. The
Differences from Stephen King's Classic Thriller: IT Creepy clowns have been a fear to most people, especially after author Stephen King published a novel called It in 1986. He introduced to the world a group of 7 young outcasts, nicknamed The Loser Club, who were terrorized by a vicious child-killing clown named Pennywise. Pennywise makes these 7 teenagers life a living nightmare, in their hometown of Derry Maine. After so much popularity, director Tommy Lee Wallace created the first ever film
Have you ever confronted a bully face to face, but you were petrified to speak up? Were you ever eager to answer a question in math class for extra marks, but you were worried that you may be wrong? Many teens try to get their voice heard, but they are afraid of the consequences that may result in the end. As Maggie Smith who is an English actress states, “Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes.” Many teens fear of voice shaking because it silences them. As teens start to speak, they would gradually
Derry’s sewers. It manipulates the mind of Henry Bowers, providing him with a switchblade and convincing him to kill his abusive father. When the seven friends (referring to themselves as the Losers Club) chase after It into the sewers, Henry Bowers follows them with his two friends. It attacks the three bullies, killing one, mutilating one, and leaving Henry Bowers insane. He is blamed for the murders that have been going on, including George Denbrough’s, when he washes out of the sewers and back into

young, and Eddie, a child protected from the world by his overweight mother who suffers from Munchausen Syndrome. They, like the others, are rejects from the community. The next boy who came along was Ben Hanscom. He was being chased by the school bully and found the other two boys attempting to build a dam. After the coast was clear the three boys began to plan the building of a dam. The next day they met up with materials to create a dam that would hold the water in the stream back. They were joined
is because he does what he likes despite heavy peer pressure. One thing Chase likes and continues to do is the video club. Bear and Aaron, his football friends turned enemies, constantly tell Chase not to do the video club but he continues to because it is what he likes. Bear and Aaron could possibly even be jealous that Chase isn’t playing football and he is doing the video club instead. The next reason Chase is compelling because he does what he likes is he makes friendships with
fully realized by a clown who dwells within the sewer system of a small town in Derry, Maine, where kids have disappeared at alarming rates. With all this to say, it is up to seven children known as The Losers Club, to figure out the town’s curse while confronting their own fears, home life, bullies and the evil force that feeds on fear by taking the shape of a clown known as Pennywise, the dancing clown. Nonetheless, the reboot of “IT,” receives King’s stamp of approval — a tall task considering King
“The Breakfast Club” characterizes this phenomena by depicting the “jock, the brain, the basketcase, the princess, and the juvenile delinquent”. In the movie each character is representative of the social class to which they belong. The “jock” signifies the sports star that can do no wrong, but the movie character bullies another boy and when caught all he received was detention. Although on the other hand the delinquent
missed so much that the school sent home attendance letters voicing their concern with the amount of absences I had. I received nasty notes in my locker, and on my desk 's saying how I was such an annoyance to the world and that I shouldn’t be such a loser. Sometimes they would follow me down the hallways whispering things to me. I couldn’t even use the restroom in peace, because they would be standing by the sinks waiting to verbally harass me. The secretaries in the office knew me by name because
school in 1st grade or going into middle school. Victims of bullying are often shy and tend to be physically weaker than their peers. They may also have low self-esteem and poor social skills, which makes it hard for them to stand up for themselves. Bullies consider these children safe targets because they usually don't retaliate. When thinking of teen films our minds instantly might go to the well-known film The Breakfast Club which was released 1985. Some might think of the 1978 film Grease. We think of these films because they portray the lives of a group of teens for a day or even a school year, but the one thing teen films have in common are the characters main setting is a high school or around a high school (Denby 367). The 2002 film The Perks of Being a Wallflower can be categorized, by Denby’s standards, a teen film
Social Penetration Theory in The Breakfast Club The Social Penetration Theory, adapted by Irwin Altman and Dalmas Taylor, is based on the idea that people are layered like onions, (Griffin 133). These layers are made up by different things that hide an individual’s true self. One’s true self can include his or her hopes, fears, likes, dislikes, aspirations and other things that one thinks about. For individuals to become close, they must get past all of the facades and disclose their true
have any friends at school. I was one of those kids who got bullied all the time, but not because we were nerds or anything. Every day, I would go to school, get to my locker, and put my stuff in. Mark’s locker was right next to mine. Mark was the bully who always kicked me around like a soccer ball. It was very convenient for him. He would get to his locker every morning a little after I would. Then, he would pound me. After school, he would do something else, like stuff me in a garbage can or something
