Before Lorenna knew it, the clock struck six and her final tutor left. Nara groaned, wanting nothing more than to hide in her room as she made her way into the dining room. The servants hurried about serving food and doing last minute touches as she came in before rushing back to the kitchen. None of them wanted to be present when the Lady arrived. Lorenna took her seat just as Taylor arrived to slump into his own on her right. He ran a hand through his brunette hair and had bruises under his eyes. He looked like their father when he was young with an identical frown. “Was it an eventful day in town?” She asked, laughing as he groaned and their father came in. “Good evening father. How was your day?” “The same as Taylor’s,” he muttered, “Full of stubborn and stupid people.” His eyes …show more content…
“We went over history, philosophy, politics, literature, and dancing.” “Did you have tea with Mary and Sarah this afternoon?” She asked looking at her with a mocking smile. “No I did not,” Lorenna replied, looking at Mary, wondering if she knew that she has skipped two of her lessons. Mary quickly shook her head. “Shame, you hardly have any friends.” Such a small comment irked Lorenna. Her grip tightened on her fork as she sweetly smiled, “I don’t believe I was invited. Even if I was, I don't have time for social events when I have seven tutors.” “I thought it was your reputation.” “Which one?” Lorenna asked snidely, taking Taylor’s glass and draining it. He suddenly paled, whispering, “Don't do it.” She ignored him, as she asked in a mockingly sweet voice, “My reputation as a peasant in a fancy dress or as a constant living reminder of your mistake?” Minerva’s eyes bore into her disrespectful daughter, “The mistake can afford to be refined a little more.” Lorenna slammed her silverware down on the table. "Calm down," Taylor whispered, looking to Mary for
“No.” Why would she choose me to do that I thought to myself. There were many other people in my class who were equally capable to do that. I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of everyone doing something that I wasn’t confident doing.
The servants completed their task after assurances the leftovers would be ready to fetch whenever Lionel wanted, and they backed out of the room. Closing the door. Again.

True enough, he acted more sophisticated than her harbor friends and besides that, the adoration he lavished upon her, certainly held Lelia’s interest, as did his savoir-faire.
Lystra awoke to the sounds of death. Sitting up, she was surrounded by the other Deceived in the alcove as they stared at the Unable. In lines, some were shot; others were pushed through another door. Lystra didn’t watch, not at first, but held her hands to her ears, and counted the pairs of shoes she saw in front of her. The sound of shooting stopped soon enough, and the others in the alcove eventually lost interest. Some sat, some paced, others huddled in small groups, whispering among themselves.
Tizbeth followed him. She picked at the food, not liking it as much as dinner. She noticed the Sofria from last night before.
“Oh fine, well a few days back, my Papa asked me to bring a crokersack full of turnip greens to Mr Johnson's house. It was a long an' miserable walk an' rain started pouring heavily. I open the door to the house to find that no one was home an' placed the crockersack down inside. Then I notice a pile of coins oddly lying on the table so I…”
One morning, Gregor Samsa awoke from a night just like any other. He lay on his back, glancing over his shoulder at the alarm clock, “5:30.” he said to himself. He stood up and easily glided out of bed, walking over to the textile samples he had laying on the table.
After leaving the big house Percy and I went down to the lake and sat down at the end of the pier. No words were needed as we simply sat there with our fingers entwined and my head on his shoulder. Thankfully after everything that has happened, I had learned to keep a packed backpack at all times so I simply added a few more books and got ready for bed.
"Come on you two, maybe it’s about Ruby was stealing everyone’s cookies again during lunch." The fourth female voice joked playfully.
It was dark all around Naruto. The darkness wasn’t terribly frightening. No, it was calming—the light reminded him all to well of the flickering of the villagers’ torches.

“Well, I got used to it and what else would you expect from someone-” I stopped. Why was I about to tell someone I barely knew who I was? “Never mind. Ignore what I just said.” I said quickly.
I knocked softly. A few suspenseful moments later the door opened just a crack. Eugene’s mother opened the door, and looked me up and down. She suddenly got a mean look on her face and said “yes?” in a tone that sounded like she did not care.
Pendragon’s hammer struck the iron handle of his chisel one last time. As the subdued clink of metal on metal reverberated through the room, a single sliver of ivory fell from the masterpiece. Surveying the now finished harp, Pendragon let a satisfied sigh escape his lips. Like a horse who has pulled loads for a lifetime and has finally been brought to the paddock, contentment settled over him.
