My senior year is quickly approaching and it is time to start looking for collages that I am interested in. The way that I will be most successful in college is to go to a collage that offers a great teaching program, has a soccer team, and has great dorms. Another big thing that I am looking for is going to a collage with an affordable price and closer to home. I want to be able to come home on the weekends to see family and friends. There are a few colleges in mind that I think will allow me to do my very best. Shippensburg, York, and Millersville all have what I am looking for in a collage. Now it comes down to the details that will allow me to to really pick my final choice. The first college that I am looking at is Shippensburg University. …show more content…
Shippensburg has a great teaching program called Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School (Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School). Shippensburg University is one of the last collages to have a public elementary school that allow their students to have access too. (Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School). It allows students to observe and interact with the elementary students. (Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School). Another thing that I look for in a collage is the SAT score. At shippensburg University, the average SAT score is a 950 (CollegeSimply. “Home.) As I continued to look at Shippensburg, I have also really liked the housing. It is just over an hour. It is a great distance considering that I would love to be close to home so that I could come home over the weekends. Looking for a collage It is important to me to be able to live comfortably. The dorms are very nice. You are able to have your very own room with a living place …show more content…
Millersville by far has the best teaching program (Master's in Early Childhood Education). To be able to get into Millersville, you have to have a B average (Millersville University of Pennsylvania SAT Scores and GPA). The GPA requirements is a reachable goal for me considering that I have a “A” and “B” average grades in high school. The price at Millersville is close to the price of Shippensburg and York College (Graduate Tuition and Fees 2017 – 2018). Millersvilles price to live on campus would be $24,080 (Quick Links). The price of Millersville is affordable to live on campus and I know that I will enjoy my time there with the dorms that look very nice and comfortable (Housing). The dorm that that would be the comfortable for me would cost $4,856 (Housing). Not only is the collage a great price and the dorms are very nice, but the Millersville soccer team is also what I am looking for (Millersville University Athletics). Millersville soccer team is Division II and they have a pretty goot record (Millersville University Athletics). Their record of 2017 is 6-9-2 (Millersville University Athletics). Lastly, the soccer team carries a lot of girls on the team, which is something to consider because I want to be able to get a lot of playing time in my four years of playing (Millersville University
Two colleges I would like to attend is High Point University and UNC Pembroke. I would like to attend High Point because it is near both Winston-Salem and Greensboro. UNC Pembroke is also a great option to attend to because I noticed that the campus is closed off which will help in staying focus but it’s not as close to the city. My academic interest is in natural science involving biology but also math. My social interests is doing activities in the city in order to have a separation from campus life.
Last, college is Alfred State College. There are four main pros about Alfred. First pro, is they offer $4.1 million in various. This is useful because I could get money to pay my load. Second, after graduation they can help you look for a job. Third, I want to live in dorm because I could do well in college and can benefits me. Last, Alfred has one major that I was looking is Financial. There few cons about Alfred is a high GPA and test scores. Second,
Compare and contrasting Ogeechee Technical College and Southeastern Technical College to see which one is good for me in all ways educational and economically. Both these two colleges are very interesting for me they are near my family and they can get me my certificate to be an electrician.
The five colleges I researched were; Culver Stockton, Rensselaer, Mizzou, Missouri Southern, and Pittsburg State. I chose is Missouri Southern over the other four choices because it is less expensive than them, it is closer to home and it has a wide variety of activities throughout the year.
The colleges I will be comparing and contrasting are East Georgia College and Georgia Southern. East Georgia College is a four-year state college of the University System of Georgia. Located in Swainsboro,Ga. It's a public college with about 28 students per class. The demographics of the school is mixed races. To get in the college you need to be have graduated high school, and taken the SAT or Compass test with an good score. The college does not have on campus transportation like public buses, so you would have to have your own transportation. The total cost for a 1 year tuition would be $4,011. I would take up art and sociology for my academic programs. I wouldn't be far from home and there are a lot of places to work. The sports they have
Being in the middle of high school, I am thinking about my future more than ever now. I have made mostly A’s and B’s all of my life, so I will probably have the chance to go to a good college if I choose to do so. This decision will be one of the biggest decisions of my life, and I will need to put much thought and research into this decision. Early in my life, I began going to Clemson University football, baseball, and soccer games. For this reason, I am now a big Clemson fan, and I hope to go there for my college career. Another college I am interested in is Furman University. I have grown up most of my life living on the outskirts of Furman, and I have also been to many sports
Academics, sports, and cost are some similarities and differences between Wichita State and Butler Community College. Other than being located in Kansas, Wichita and Butler both have what it takes to get you on the path to success. Wichita has the starting classes for any and all degrees and so does Butler. Every degree possible has to have the foundation classes such as College Algebra, English 101, and a fine arts credit. Both schools offer a variety of sports and courses. Making a choice between these two colleges might be difficult but you cannot go wrong with either
There are many amazing colleges over the state of West Virginia, but I have chosen Fairmont State University to receive my college education. I chose Fairmont State because my cousin is currently attending classes there and she loves it. I would love to attend a small, low populated college, so Fairmont is great. I would love to stay in the state of West Virginia, and close to home, so Fairmont State is perfect. Tuition at Fairmont is $18,574, which is cheaper than Alderson Broadus, and West Virginia University.
I am considering attending either Vanderbilt University or the University of Georgia. Neither of these schools is beyond driving distance from home, and they are both well-known and respected universities. Both schools are somewhat challenging to be accepted to, but UGA accepts more people than Vanderbilt. UGA is in Athens, Georgia, while Vandy is in Nashville, Tennessee. I want to learn more about the cost of attendance and scholarships available to me, the criteria for acceptance, and the environment at each of these colleges.
College is are 18 year old’s first step into the adult world, some make it and some don’t. Education in itself can be expensive and loans are needed just to pay for school, but Millersville decided to change their tuition policy. The policy used to be the same price for everyone, now it’s based on the amount of credits the student is scheduled to take. Millersville University should go back to same price for everyone tuition because the university makes enough money from standard tuition, the amount of loans students need have increased, and the loans make it harder for students who have graduated to find their footing.
First of all, the education department brought me to Millersville because I am studying to become a Biology secondary education teacher. Millersville is well known as a teaching school and this will allow me to a degree that will mean something when it comes time for me to apply for a job once I graduate in a few years. It also prides
Choosing a college is a challenging decision but a pathway to your future, in which makes it important to choose wisely. To choose a college of your liking you must rank your priorities, compare your financial aid packages, focus on your endgame, and also revisit your short list. These steps will most likely guide you to find the perfect college/ university for you. I've decided to choose “Texas A&M University school of law” in which is located in Fortworth, Tx. This university has had a 19.68% percentage of applicants who've been admitted and also has diversities of white(64.4%) and hispanics(21.8%). To live within the University a room can cost up to $20,000 , tuition can cost up to $28,000 , loans $208, and supplies $2,400 adding up to an amount of $50,700 in total. Texas A&M has a 8.4:1 student-teacher ratio meaning it wouldn’t be as populated as other colleges would be making it a great environment to focus. In Texas A&M , within criminal law , there are “Cynthia Alkon, and Amber Baylor” instructors in which I'd love to meet. Quality within this school is great, it's a good campus, good quality of tech, rooms, etc.
One of the theme I choose to include in my collage is grief, more specifically denial and anger. The theme of grief is very strong throughout the graphic novel, an example of a time that conor is going through denial is when his grandma is trying to discuss what is going to happen when his mother dies and conor snaps at her saying “she’s going to be okay”. The fact the conor says that his mother is going to be okay although it is evident that she won’t proves that he’s having a hard time coming to the circumstances of his mother’s cancer. One of the pictures that I decided to use to show grief has a man sitting by himself, hunched over holding his head, the position of his body shows distress which I why I decided to have this as my largest picture. Another picture in my collage has a man turning away and holding his hand out which depicts that he doesn’t want to listen to want he’s being told representing he’s going through denial just as conor was.
As a high school senior, I spent all year searching for a compatible college that fits my requirements. I wanted a college that is affordable, so when I graduate I am not stuck with a massive debt. I wanted a campus that is has friendly people and feels like home. Finally, the college must provide me with the right skills to start my career. With those three standards in mind, I narrowed my choices to one perfect college.
A big school or small, public or private, urban or rural; these are just a few of the many difficult deciding factors I faced during my college selection. At the height of my selection process, I had applied to ten schools ranging across all those factors. I was completely unsure of what I wanted to do with my life yet and had no idea what type of school I wanted. My mind wasn’t set enough on the future and I was too worried about getting through high school and working my full-time job. As it got closer to spring, I had to start making some decisions. Ultimately, I narrowed my deciding process to three factors to specifically analyze to make the right decision. Beginning with reputation, followed by student life, and lastly the financial cost to attend.
