Teaching/Benefits:
Technology in education is a major advancement that provides a different approach to help professors to facilitate the teaching process to students. Technology makes it possible to be creative in presenting information effectively. Faculty now can take advantage of the presentation software and electronic communication in their lectures to create a learning environment that is efficient and effective. Presentation software and electronic communication further breaks down into smaller roots to the visual aid, email, computer conferencing, electronic blackboard, electronic smartboard, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel and so forth to provide a wide range of application options that professors can include in the academic courses according to the course’s objectives. Many of these channels are now commonly used in the overall academic curriculum. Increase use in education technology opens different opportunities and teaching environment as Shuell and Farber (2001) presents in their study about the change in the teaching methods from overhead transparencies to PowerPoint, in class discussion to electronic discussion and emails to facilitate communications between professors and students’.
Email is an electronic communication that is widely accepted and used by individuals daily to send and receive messages to anyone for many purposes (e.g. to inform, share, interact and so forth). With one click, a sender can send a message to an individual
Think about it: even though the Web (and how we use it) evolves on a practically constant basis, all of us are intimately familiar with “email blasts”—those one-size-fits-all messages that don’t give us even the illusion of a personal touch.
People have attempted to integrate technology into the academic society; however, Scott Carlin, “found in most cases is that it was just a fancy new way of passing notes” ( Freedman par. 21). It is human nature to opt for entertaining alternatives when given a set task that must be accomplished, and the temptation of the vast Internet is too much for students to ignore. Thus, the use of technology contributes a growing role in the degradation of traditional and effective teaching styles in the
In terms of telecommunication email shows a form of communication through the use of electronic mail. Users on a computer can log into their email account such as Gmail and send an email to a person by
Email (short for Electronic mail) is a convenient way to communicate with others. When you send an e-mail message, it arrives almost instantly in the recipient’s email inbox. You can send e-mail to many people simultaneously, and you can save, print, and forward e-mail to others. You can send almost any type of file in an e-mail message, including documents, pictures, and music files. With e-mail, you don’t need a stamp! See getting started with-e-mail
In the information and communication age, the learning process can be relies using a personal computer and internet connection as a channel. The students should not in the same place and the same time as the teacher. Nevertheless, the students can acquire the knowledge as well as it obtains in the traditional classroom.
Technology permeates our society. In work settings, employees are expected to use computers for such tasks as communication, information management, problem-solving, and information seeking. Because technology is such an integral part of modern life, it behooves educators to prepare learners to use it effectively. Technology also has a role in the instructional process for it can serve as a means of supporting and enhancing instruction. Based on an analysis of the literature, Hopey (1998) noted that educational technology can--
The present era has progressed not only in terms of education but also in the department of information technology. People usually resort into using technology for a faster way of communication, to progress in work and in education. Some colleges and universities have implemented the different kinds of technology for purposes of developing a student’s skills and abilities. “Technology is seen in several forms from the simple functions of a calculator used in mathematics to the most complicated computers and technological gadgets” (Flannagan L.J., pg. 07). However, alongside the positive advantages of technology and advanced computer system, there is also a negative side or disadvantages causing problems that need to be solved. While the “ideal goal for educators is to implement technology in the classroom and see definite positive affects on student achievement” (Flannagan L.J., pg. 09). We are living in a world filled with high tech gadgets in the current time like ipads, social media such as twitter, facebook, tumbr and google.
Thanks to the advantages of technology, teachers have difference ways to teach and share information with students. For instance, 10 years ago, white board is the only choice for teachers. The lessons are delivered by face to face communication between lecturers and students. They must come to class at the same time to study. Moreover, almost knowledge’s are selected from books. Nowadays, white board is replaced by projector and the lessons are shown on the screen
These days, the stereotyped traditional techniques and settings are disliked while multimedia technology featuring audio, visual animation impacts naturally and consciously makes the learners more accessible to information. Besides, with such qualities as plenteous data, multimedia technology offers a sense of reality and functions very well which extraordinarily develops students' interest and motivation in study and their involvement in class activities.
In the last 30 years, IT technology has become more integrated in educational institutions. Currently, many educational institutions are focused on the use of technology such as; online discuss forum, academic websites, PowerPoint presentation and use of audio-visual aid. Moreover, technology helps students to achieve their intended goal to meet success. For the purpose of this essay, the term technology means materials, digital tools, electronic devices and techniques that have been used in academic study. In addition, success means being an expert, knowledgeable, competitive and improving performance in term of better academic result. This essay argues that digital technology leads to success in academic study. This will be supported by analysing the following points. Firstly, digital technology helps students to become knowledgeable, and skilled. Secondly, distance learner can study at their feasible time by which they receive an equal opportunity to upgrade knowledge with the frequent use of digital technology.
The use of ICT has enriched the teaching learning process with main device computer; it has great potential for teaching at all levels. It has brought the deep transform and innovativeness in teacher to use it for teaching and learning. Mathematics and computer both are very important in present era, as both open the gate for opportunities of the world Mathematics can be more efficiently taught with the help of power point . The Mathematics Programme was scientifically designed by the researcher. If the teaching is done through Mathematics Programme then student can retain information it for a longer time. Using power point in the classroom helps students learn best visually, more elaborately and sharply. It also makes the lectures interesting and joyful as well as a kind of fun, which results in making the learning more memorable (Lepper and Hoddel, 1989).
Over the last decades, it is generally realized that the educational technology has developed dramatically. Electronic media has benefitted the system of education in an enormous way. Electronic media is the media which uses electronics or electromechanical energy for the audience to access the content. Video recording, audio recording, multimedia presentations, CD-ROM and online content are all forms of electronic media and any equipment used in electronic communication process such as radio, television, desktop computers, laptops, electronic whiteboards, and electronic textbooks is also considered as electronic media. Education has become far more convenient as internet and social
In teaching and learning of a language, there is a lot to choose from the world of technology: Radio, TV, CD Rom, Computers, C.A.L.L., the Internet, Electronic Dictionary, Email, Blogs and Audio Cassettes, Power Point, Videos, DVD’s or VCD’s. The last two decades have witnessed a revolution due to onset of technology, and has changed the dynamics of various industries, and has also influenced the industries and the way people interact and work in the society. This rapid rising and development of information technology has offered a better pattern to explore the new teaching model. As a result technology plays a very important role in English teaching. Using multimedia to create a context to teach English has its unique advantages. This paper tries to analyze the necessity of multimedia technology to language teaching and also brings out the problems faced by using these technologies. It also aims to make English teachers aware of the strategies to use it in an effective manner.
Email is a modern form of communication, you start by typing a message, include an email address for the recipient, after you click send the computer packages the email up, stamps on a IP destination and IP source on the packet, it is then sent to your router, which will forward it to the Worldwide web, - WAN (series of interconnected devices over a massive geographical location), it then goes to the first server where it is checked and sent to the next server, where it is forwarded to the router of the receiver, the router then checks the email packets for viruses and makes sure the firewall will accept email protocols, then it is sent to the computer where it is read
The introduction of the computer into the learning process has given people the opportunity to explore the benefits of this tool. Technology has been incorporated into the learning environment ever since the computer was introduced to schools in the early 1980s. Now, according to the National Center for Education Statistic, there is a ratio of 5.3 to 1 of students to computers in a class, as of 2009. The use of computers for educational purposes is rarely questioned these days. People often wonder why on some assignments computers are not used or sometimes not allowed. The basic computer skills are often taught in class and sometimes there is even a separate class for students to learn how to type and use the computer programs. The idea
