Lips Fillers & Lip Injections
The lips are one of the most noticeable features of our faces. Having natural, full looking lips with a defined border is a feature of youthful attractiveness. The good news is that these days you don’t have to settle for the lips your momma gave you thanks to lip augmentation treatments.
As we age, natural substances found in the skin such as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid that give the skin structure and volume begin to diminish, when this occurs the lips and surrounding areas can begin to lose volume. By using lip injections treatments you can enhance and restore that lost fullness.
At Serene Radiance we know that overfilled lips look really bad. Prior to the actual lip injection we use a topical anesthetic cream on the area been treated to make it as pain free as possible. Once the anesthetic has taken effect the lip filler is injected into the lips. You may a feel a little sting as the filler is been injected.
The good news is that you will see the results almost immediately. You may notice a little bit of swelling and bruising initially but you will also see the effects of the fillers very quickly. It should take less that 24 hours for the swelling to go down and then you will be able to clearly see how your filled-out lips will be for the next 9 - 12 months.
There is practically no downtime with this procedure. The numbing cream should wear off after 15 minutes or so and then you can go about your daily life afterward but avoid making any big plans (like a wedding) in case there is some temporary
These face fillers are manufactured using the XpresHAn Technology, which creates a new type of hyaluronic acid. This, in turn, makes the new gel-type face fillers flexible within the skin, pliable each time you move your face. Each time you laugh, cry, or frown, the Refyne and Defyne face fillers will still look soft and natural instead of stiff and puffy.
Redness and mild swelling with pin-point bleeding where the micro-injures were made that usually recede within 48 hours. You will start to see the results of smoother, younger-looking skin within 2 to 4 weeks with the most dramatic effects after several months. You should wash your face with bottled water and avoid sun exposure for at least 48 hours. Some patients experience cuts in their mouths, while others experience pain from wire tightenings. Invisalign uses smooth aligners that do not irritate the gums or soft tissue in the mouth, and most patients do not experience tenderness when they change out their aligners.
This FDA-approved filler is an injectable gel that corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles. Unlike Botox, which targets underlying muscle activity around the brows and crow’s feet, Juvederm provides contour and lift around the nose and mouth. It adds volume to the cheek area to create a more youthful profile.
A facelift or rhytidectomy requires the patient undergo surgery. This procedure work to tighten up any loose skin the patient has along with wrinkles. Once complete, the patient appears years young, and incisions are made behind the ears, under the chin or at the hairline to reduce the appearance of scars. Any excess skin is removed during the operation, and the skin of the face and neck is tightened. Remaining skin must then be smoothed before the incisions are sutured. This procedure takes up to three hours, depending on the anticipated results and the condition of the skin. Most patients find they experience minor discomfort and pain and swelling, numbness and bruising are not uncommon. The recovery period typically lasts ten days, although it can take months for the wounds
Written in Nathan Trookman’s article, he thoroughly explains the experiment and its individual parts more in-depth. To begin, the actual experiment portion was quite confusing to understand, so I focused on the informative background part, which perceived to be more beneficial overall. The article elaborates on the lip’s anatomy, such that it states, “lips…have poor skin barrier function and low moisture capacity,” which are facts that I previously read from other sources. Also, it explains that the red coloration of the lip is from the thin layering of the surface skin, and what is shown is the capillaries. This specific article agrees heavily that weather plays a high role on lips, causing dry, chapped, discolored lips. In addition, age is
Over time, the sun, the elements, smoking and the aging process take their toll, especially in the peri-oral area of the face. The corners of the mouth begin to droop. The V-shaped area of the upper lip (known as the Cupid’s Bow) begins to flatten out and lose its youthful fullness. Vertical wrinkles or smoker’s lines begin to appear, often causing lipstick to bleed. That once sensual look is gone or greatly diminished. With Restylane injections, aging lips can be rejuventated and less full lips can be enhanced. This filler has a natural feel and is soft and
Hyaluronic acid injections plump up lips, making them fuller for that pouty look. It can also be injected in the area under the eyes to hide dark circles by smoothing the surface.

There are many things that happen internally and externally in our bodies every day. Exocytosis and neuromuscular junction help us understand how Botox works. Exocytosis is the process where secretory proteins are transported out of the cell (Alberts, et al., 2014). In addition to this, neurotransmitters are released. Neuromuscular Junction is a synapse that is formed between a muscle fiber and motor neuron which causes the muscle to contract (Alberts, et al., 2014). Botox is a drug made from a neurotoxin. An example of this would be Botulinum neurotoxin type A. Overall, the process of exocytosis, the neuromuscular junctions, and Botox can help with muscular conditions.
Injections with fillers can be performed right in the office. The surgeon will prepare the area to be treated and may apply a numbing cream. Next, the filler will be injected into the lip as needed in order to create extra volume.

Applying — and reapplying — lip balm is a fall and winter rite of passage with which many of us are all too familiar. In fact, in 2010, Americans spent about $417 million on lip care (including balms and cold-sore products), according to market research firm SymphonyIRI. With cold weather comes dry, chapped lips, making that little tube or pot a seasonal staple, whether it's a newer brand or an old standby like ChapStick (invented in the 1880s) or Carmex (manufactured since 1936).
IV. Preview: First I will inform you on some of the different types of ingredients to look for in a lip balm and the benefits they have for your lips, secondly I will inform you on how to keep your lips moisturized throughout the day, and lastly I will show you a video that informs you how to make a hydrating lips bomb for you lips. According to Bruce Bart, 2017, when your lips are exposed to moisture, they absorb water and plump up when they are dehydrated, they dry out and shrink. And, because they're always exposed, they're prone to dehydration, particularly during the cold, windy winter months. The skin on the lips is also unlike skin anywhere else on the body: It's thinner (allowing the blood vessels to be visible, making the lips look red) and has no oil glands (oil acts as a barrier for skin, helping to protect it from the elements). The result can be red, rough (and sometimes painful), chapped lips that couldn't hold lipstick color if you spray-painted it on.
Finally, apply color to your lips. Start by lining your lips to help the lipstick stay on. Then apply the matching lipstick to your lips. Some people like to add a lip gloss over their lipstick, but this is completely optional. Once you are done applying your makeup, spray a setting spray all over your face and then you are done. Using a setting spray will keep your makeup looking fresh and stay on all
