TITLE The simple question, What makes life worth living? Is a difficult question to answer. The ways that we live our life have rippling effects on others around us, so it is imperative to make correct choices that make life worth living. Everyone in life also has different ideas of what makes life doable through hard difficult times were perseverance is needed, and that’s when we ask ourselves what makes life worth living?, without a doubt waking up every morning, family, and the future make life worth living. One of such ways of that makes life worth living is by waking every morning, which gives a fresh new start, and a chance to have a positive outlook. Taking advantage of a fresh start to a new day can be the difference between …show more content…
The feeling of love and a good stable are also very key points in stable good standing family, but when a family has forgiveness for one another it goes beyond any other understanding. The power of forgiveness in a family extends from as small as forgetting someone's birthday to a huge mistake such as forgiving a family member for crashing the family car. The three important factors all tie into the reason of why family make life worth living. The exhilarating feeling of not knowing the outcome of the future makes life more worth living. The outcome of the future is always a ominous mystery which is what makes it so interesting but at the same time we have a small control of what happens in the future, as the choices we make will surely impact the outcome of the future that is chosen. The simpleness of positive influxes in life can extend the thoughts of what we think that about in our future’s that make life worth living. Although the standard american dream is sought to be the perfect future for every american due to the thoughts of having the nice house, the dream job and the perfect house, but we miss the simple fact of how every individual has a set future in mind that they want to make goals towards and complete. Ideas of diverse futures are what makes futures so exciting and different for example, one person wants to achieve the goal of getting their masters in criminal justice while
I partially agree with Pangloss’s statement because we never know what the future holds for us and we can never predict our fate therefor what happens to you today (now) or what you have is the best you can get or have in your live. For example, considering
A safe future can be harmful to someone’s pursuit of meaning in life and fulfillment of their
Living is about making choices. The choices people make shape their lives for better or worse. Even the decision not to choose has its effects, often not wanted. But the individual who chooses to make positive choices and to act accordingly is more likely to see his or her life reflect his or her beliefs and desires. Usually the individual who chooses to take action is also willing to face the risks and obstacles that such choices involve.
It is also a key factor affecting resilience. A positive, supportive and cohesive family relationship can promote our resiliency. Relatives are the important props to support us when we are experiencing adversity.
Family will always make an impact in any decisions you make. Elie Wiesel shows this very well in the book Night. The main character Eliezer and his father are sent to a concentration camp. During the time of them being there Eliezer stayed by his father’s side. Despite all the torturing and beating his father got, he still stayed by Eliezer’s side. Many other people show an example of strong family bonds during the reading of this book.Strong family bonds can sustain people through tragedy and hardship.
There are several things that can make a person’s life better. They include love, beauty, achievement, friendship, solitude and privacy. This proves that an individual has a long list of values and virtues that can enhance his or her life.
In this essay I will try to explain why visions of the future are so
When you imagine your future you hope it will consist of great paying jobs and benefiting
It's all in the grand scheme of things, just about perspective in all actuality, no one really knows the future but society views everything like we do know what's going to happen, and we work towards completing goals, or achieving things that we set out to do but in all actuality none of it is going to happen as we planed. Say for instance you set out a goal to make a million dollars by the end of 2016, and you have your plan and everything you know what you're going to do , and you do it and by 2016 you have everything you set out to get, but that's it. During the process of getting to your planned out goal you were dead. You were as probably less human than a wooden table, the reason for that is called target fascination. When you wish for things to happen you, and you don't really know who is or, if it is even you who had the original idea to become rich, you don't really know because your mind is combined with other people's perspective and other peoples thoughts so much to the point where you don't even have your own conceptual idea
“When people find it easy to imagine an event, they overestimate the likelihood that it will actually occur” (Gilbert, 2006, p.19.) Gilbert explains that this causes us to be overoptimistic about our futures and thus changes what we do in order to be happy. Young people imagine traveling the world, starting a successful business or becoming a star. Later on in one’s life they may realize that they do not have the funds to travel the world, the talent to become a star, or even the desire to start their own business. Perhaps they come to the conclusion that they would be happier starting a family or writing a book. Humans have an undeniable want to control. The reason somebody imagines the future is so they can do something about it (Gilbert, 2006, p. 21.) We imagine a future better than today so we can take the actions necessary to get to the better tomorrow. I imagined college being a whole lot better than high school. The freedom and the separation from my parents was something I wanted. So in order to get here I studied hard in high school, strove for a good ACT score, and applied to universities. The actions I took in high school were in order to control the future. Gilbert answers the question of “Why should we want to control our futures?” “It feels good to do so-period. Impact is rewarding. Mattering makes us happy. The act of steering one’s boat down the river of time is a source of pleasure, regardless of one’s port of call” (Gilbert,
In an ironic way, the optimism of the vast majority is the greatest inhibitor of satisfaction. Both the future and the past are born of the present mind; the now is interminable. For some reason, humanity seems to possess an unwavering insistence on running, so to speak, to an illusory end that is really nothing more than a product of momentary dissatisfaction.
Happiness is an essential goal for most people. From books and expensive classes that teach people how to achieve happiness to the fundamental right of “the pursuit of happiness” in the Declaration of Independence, the importance of happiness is evident in society. This causes the rise to two fundamental questions: “How does one attain happiness?” and “,How does happiness create a meaningful life?” Both happiness and living a meaningful life are achieved simultaneously. The search for happiness and the factors that make it brings meaning to life. Happiness can stem from several factors such as wisdom and knowledge, savoring life and its experiences, and even suffering and pain. Analyzing these factors brings meaning to one’s life.
In life, there are many ways you can live, however, the manner in which you live is your choice. In most peoples’ lives, they want to leave this world and say that they were happy and enjoyed every single moment of it. People feel like if they lived a happy life, then that is all that matters. But what if life has more to do than just being happy, what if it was meant for you to change the world or the lives of others? If you changed the life of another person and made them happy, you made a difference. A happy life is a good one, but a meaningful life is fruitful.
Having a loving family is something that no child should live without. A loving family helps shape your personality, and also helps instil good decision making in you. They also act as your support system, when you are going through hard times. Lastly, they teach you about your heritage and culture, this helps create a sense of belonging. These are just a few reasons why having a loving family is something every child should have. This theme is shown through THE FARMING OF BONES written by Edwidge Danticat.
Life has no meaning if you don't have the urge to wake up the next morning to see the next day. Many people live their lives unhappy since they have no purpose or meaning to fulfill or satisfy their needs. Purpose to me is something to live for and something to look forward to in life. Without purpose and meaning in life there is no point of living at all. Recently in the existentialism unit we’ve been reading, I learned that without a passion to live, one’s life means nothing and is a waste of a soul. Based on the previous books I’ve read, I learned I am happy because I have things to look forward to in life and to wake up the next morning to enjoy the new day. Three elements that give me purpose and meaning in my life are my family, my
