Life Is Not Effortless Or Fair

Sports have been a huge part of my life ever since I was about five years old. It has impacted my life so much. The biggest challenge that I faced was with my injuries during basketball and soccer season. I recently had to quit soccer and basketball, which was difficult for me.

Sports are not for everybody, not only because of talent level, but because a certain mindset is to be had to be successful at any sport. A commitment is made. Forty hours of practice a week, the average amount of time spent practicing for football players, all for a one hour game, the average time of one game of college football, takes dedication. That is not even counting the time spent icing, resting, and studying the playbook or film, not to mention the school work to be kept up with for college and high school students. Most athletes have become used to the grind and juggling three or four time consuming activities all at one time while being successful at each. Waking up at the break of dawn, following a schedule, and suffering consequences when a bad choice is made creates character and discipline that is often needed for many little league, high school, and college athletes. The most important non tangible thing sports teach anyone is how to get back up after falling, how to get knocked down but get right back up and keep going, how to move on from failure and overcome it, focusing on the next important part of life. These skills of determination and courage taught through sports are essential for being successful in any part of life and are hard to come by anywhere

Sports don’t just teach you to be aggressive and competitive. Sports teach you a lot about how to be ready for a life after college and after sports. People who are successful in sports have to have an insane work ethic,

life isn’t fair. one time my brother lost my moms phone and I got blamed for it. Then an hour later we found it but they still thot it was me. One time i was coming down the stars and then i saw wyatt taking my money out of my wallet. so i told him to give me my money back but he said no . so i punched him in the face. And i got in trouble for it. there was another time when my sister tried to take my money but i saw her. i told her to give it back and she said no so i told my mom and she got in trouble.

Coaches always talk about how, “Sports do not make character, they reveal it”. By knowing this I know that the way I overcome difficulties on the field, shows how I will deal with the ups and downs in life. Sports also improve team building skills, communication skills, dedication, hard work, consistency, etc. I find if I improve on those I will be a better person on and off the field.

Next, participating in sports lets me be myself and will help me throughout my life. Sports have helped me grow into a better leader and gave me the ability to become a better person. If my teammates are ever down or upset about something, I now have the ability to help them recover from it and get ready for the next play or inning. Also, taking part in sports lets me be myself. Whenever I am on a field or a court, I can always do what I do best and forget about everything else in my life.

Sports taught me the qualities that help reflect in the classroom, in my team, and in the community. These resulted in my success throughout the academic year, in my team, and also in the community as well. I have accomplished a lot and plan to do more in the

Participating in athletics influenced my career goals because finally realizing that I love sports and want to be involved with sports when I graduate so that way there always apart of my life when I get older. Playing football my senior year made me realize that I was going to miss it, that made me want to do something that would involve sports like being a coach or even an athletic trainer. To be an athlete, especially one of the three sport variety, is a huge undertaking, as it requires year-round commitment and a passion for hard work. Personally, I have played consistently in three sports since the fifth grade, and I believe this lifelong dedication has paid off for me. It’s impossible to put all of your energy into being an athlete, because while becoming successful in sports is one thing, it is an entirely more important matter to become a successful student. Balancing this can be hard and it is that balance which must be perfected in order to become a good athlete. An athlete to me isn't just someone who straps on their jersey and plays a game, it is a person who is dedicated to a sport on and off the field, and someone who exemplifies the best qualities in their environment.

I would say one way that athletics has affected me is learning the importance of hard work and determination. It's taught me that no matter what situation you're in that if you work hard enough you can achieve your goals both on and off the field. Before when something was hard I would either try to find the easy way out or simply give up. Even though that might work temporarily, I've learned through many years of playing sports that powering through and getting the job done, no matter how difficult it may be, is always more rewarding and better than giving up.

Sports are very vital. They offer a lifestyle, an occupation, and even a dream. Sports require physical activity and skill in which a team or an individual compete against others for entertainment. As David G. McComb comments in "Sports in World History", "there is a high degree of training, investment, and coaching, along with spectators, rules, publicity, and institutional control that come along with these activities." While participating in sports, it is required to be able to undertake a difficult situation and perform the best out of it. Sports are definitely more than just a game.

Athletes practice several hours a day in order to become the best they can possibly be, and that requires extra effort and much improved skill. As a student, I face challenges every single day. Do you think Valedictorians accomplish such the amazing opportunities they soon achieve by only studying and maintaining A-B averages? They work hard, non-stop; simultaneously juggling sports, extracurricular activities, and sometimes even jobs. If you aren't exactly the most out-going student, or the most talkative, try developing a study group. Even the small ideas help evolve you into the human being you are now. Not only do you begin making new friends, but you learn about improving certain skills that you might've not even considered earlier in the process. You don't need to make drastic changes to your life in order to do something beyond what you've already mastered, every baby step counts. If you only keep to yourself and never try anything new, you never truly know about the potential fun you're missing out on. The key to living life is happiness and success, and you could be missing out on those essential emotions because you won't necessarily know you love

Another major reason why others and I choose to play sports is because it contributes to a more healthy life, both physically and mentally. In the article “High School, College Football Comes With Risk” reporter Jeffrey Perkel from ABC News wrote “We have an epidemic of obesity in this country, and sports is one of the best ways for kids to incorporate exercise in their lives.” I believe that this can also apply to adults. Obesity cause nasty things such as diabetes and heart disease and probably the most enjoyable and easiest way is to prevent that is to exercise by playing sports.
