INTRODUCTION:
Both the Levi and Lee brands are pioneers when it comes to denim. Both brands began in the 17th century, Levi's beginning in 1853 and Lee beginning in 1889. (www.leejeans.com, 14/9/05) (www.levistrauss.com, 14/9/05)
Levi Strauss and Company is one of the largest brand name manufacturers in the world. The company itself was founded by Levi Strauss, a Bavarian immigrant to the United States. During the gold rush era, Strauss began to produce trousers sewn from tent canvas to meet the needs of his minor and labourer customers who were looking for clothing that could withstand the strain of the work that they undertook. By the 1870's, the pants were being produced out of denim, after finding it to be a very durable

This fund supports the prevention of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and other blood-borne diseases through increased access to sterile syringes
Recognizing the urgent need for supporting this under-funded issue, and continuing their long-standing support for effective HIV prevention efforts, the Levi Strauss Foundation, Tides Foundation and the National AIDS Fund will award multi-year grants totalling $1 million in 2004 to support syringe exchange programs and state-level public education projects focusing on policies to expand access to sterile syringes through the Syringe Access Fund.

The American Civil War was a major conflict that occurred on April 12, 1861. This war was fought between the United States of America, led by Ulysses S. Grant, and the Confederates States of America, led by Robert E. Lee. On July 21, 1861, in Prince William County, Virginia, near the city of Manassas, the first battle of the Civil War had begun. The first battle was called “The First Battle of Bull Run,” also known as “Battle of First Manassas.” The Civil War was fought mainly because of slavery and the unity of the nation. While the North was industrialized, the South remained agricultural, so, therefore, the South needed slaves to help work in the fields. The Union had around 2,100,000 soldiers and the majority of them were white boys and men that were generally aged between 18 to 45 at first. But, after a while, on May 22, 1863, the U.S. War Department enabled free escaped African-American men to serve as enlisted men in the war. With many struggles and concerns in the beginning, the African-American soldiers not only gained military skills, but they also gained courage, strength, support, and began to
At the end of the Civil War, two great men found themselves in a bind. Robert E. Lee, commander of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, had a slew of wounded and malnourished soldiers, and nothing to feed them. Ulysses S. Grant, commander of the Union Army, had resources to spare and extended an offer of surrender in exchange for those rations. Lee accepted, and therefore forfeit the Civil War to the Union Army. Throughout their four year struggle for victory, the two men underwent many trials, and ultimately came to a consensus that the carnage had to come to an end. Although Lee and Grant had drastically different approaches to the way they commanded their respective armies, both went down in American History as heroes.
A major court issue has dominated the national headlines in America. The battle over state execution in Arkansas ended on Thursday night as the state carried out its first execution since 2005.
In the eastern front of U.S. Civil War there were two men who stood above the rest. Robert E. Lee was the commanding general of the Army of Northern Virginia. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson commanded the Army of the Shenandoah. The military genius of these two men was far beyond that of any Union or Confederate officer in the east. History tells us that Robert E. Lee was one of the greatest commanding officers in history. History only tells us that Jackson was brave and stood like a stonewall at the First Battle of Manassas Junction, but was Jackson as good a commander as Lee? While they had their similarities these two men were very different in the ways they commanded their armies, and the ways they saw could end the war in victory
Jeans were made in in the 1850s. The place they were made was in New York. Yet, Strauss, the creator was not pleased with the money he was getting so he moved to California because he wanted to get some of the California Gold Rush. With him knowing Jeans were made for work he tried to get miners to get new jeans to mining. Not only was that a great choice, but it did better than he expected as he was not only changing his generation then, but now he changed my generation. He never thought that he would have gotten such success just from moving his creation to a place that people found that jeans were perfect for mining. If he would know how much he did for the fashion in American clothing he would be proud. Mainly because it is the number one

Christmas is the annual festival celebrating the birth of Jesus on the 25th December, at least that is what it began as initially. Since it has expanded into an international phenomenon for consumption, taking priority over our everyday practices of life (Michel De Certeau, 1980). Our time we spend divided between work and leisure in accordance to the codes and conventions of society shifts, Christmas derails these expectations. Yet surprisingly Christmas gains little attention in terms of social research, despite the fact that it can be explored diversely. The inquiry ‘What is Christmas?’ links to multiple aspects of social research. The aspects of Christmas can be subdivided into the following; religion, commercialism, gift-giving, social relationships, sensualism and mythology. This essay will analyse these fundamentals of Christmas through both psychological and sociological perspectives, as the theories among these two social sciences are best suited to the elements which make up Christmas itself.
Due to the above reasons and lack of promotion, Levi’s achieved only 65% of their sales target. They promoted the wrong product under their brand, for the wrong price at the wrong place. They failed to understand the needs of their customers.
Originally, Gap did not sell its own brand of clothing, carrying only the Levi Strauss & Co label on its shelves until 1978. At this time Gap had opened more than 300 stores and was selling its own, increasingly popular brand
In different parts of the world, people are celebrating the Day of the Dead. In other parts of the world, people are celebrating Halloween. Both of these celebrations are a lot alike, and are a lot different.

The purpose of this paper would be a personal strategic plan for myself in which visualizes me as a business organization, or as You, Inc. Therefore, to create a personal strategy one must examine a mission statement, vision statement, and understand the environmental scan to identify external opportunities and threats; in which, an individual or organization gathers information about the market, society, its competitors, and oneself. A mission statement defines an individual purpose for achieving certain goals. An individual mission statement should define their primary attributes to employers, employees, or clients to identify the products and services they have to offer in a particular field. A vision statement is long-term goals that give an individual the formation that allows them a competitive advantage in an organization or particular market. My personal vision statement is to seek employment in the manufacturing sector as operations manager in logistics. Once this information is achieved the individual or business can take the necessary steps to identify signs (Business Dictionary, 2015) of pressure and prospects that may influence their current and future course of action through tools such as P.E.S.T (Political, Economic, Social and Technological) and through S.W.O.T. (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) analysis (QuickMBA, 2010).
