Sellarole’s core class must know. If there’s nothing you gain from this letter, at least remember this - NEVER, on any occasion, give Mr. Sellarole glitter or use glitter in his class; he will become aggravated and this is something you never want to see or else you are in serious trouble. Besides that major piece of information about Mr. Sellarole, just be yourself because he really enjoys having conversations with the class that are occasionally long, but fun for everyone. Possibly the most terrifying portion of eighth grade is the constitution test; however, if you pay attention in class and study consistently, it isn’t too complicated to achieve a fantastic grade. What many don’t realize, is that the rumors that fly around campus about how difficult something is are typically false stories. After the constitution test, history quizzes begin to become just digital presentations that your group presents, these require a fair amount of work, but nothing too extravagant. Besides the wonderful 100 point exams in history, it is a relatively simple subject to get an “A” in as long as you pay attention in class. English, on the other hand, is the subject most people have to work extremely hard in for an “A”. You may have heard a rumor about Mr. Sellarole’s journals being extremely hard and nobody gets “A’s” in them, but these are false. Accurately, the journals are difficult and probably nobody in your class will get an A on their first journal. Journals may appear to be an annoying portion of the weekly routine in class, but towards the end of the year they become dramatically easier because one has developed their writing skills. Besides for journals, English has numerous essays and quizzes which all account for a better grade. Perhaps the best portion of core are the spelling tests. Overall, the best advice I can give is to pay attention in class even if it’s boring because it really helps on
Hey, it's Morgan J. Hillary! We used to work together at Congressman Alan Lowenthal's office (I was the Poly senior girl that you used to bully). I just wanted to let you know that I got into UC Berkeley--my first choice!! I also wanted to thank you for helping me with my personal statement by letting me read yours and giving me advice. I hope you are doing well and achieving some of the goals that you set for yourself. Have a wonderful day!
Most human conflicts can be boiled down to one word: disrespect. Everything starts with a lack of mutual respect and of understanding, be it a playground put-downs, domestic disputes, or even, a war. Andrea Gibson’s A Letter to a Playground Bully From Andrea, Age 8½ is a request for respect and understanding so that a conflict between bully and bullied may end. The letter lays out Andrea’s understanding of her bully with well chosen diction, allowing the bully to relate to Andrea in their shared flaws and flawed families in the hopes that she stops harassing her.
Landen, great job transitioning into the second grade.Remember to read and practice math facts at home. Keep up the effort in class and improve on taking you time to complete classwork.
“McDonald’s.” When people hear that word, the first things they visualize are the Golden Arches, the Big Mac, or Ronald McDonald. McDonald 's has had a profound effect on the fast-food industry and on the U.S.; in the 20th century, the creators/owners of McDonald 's, Richard McDonald, Maurice McDonald, and Ray Kroc (a traveling salesman) created the Speedee Service System, which made restaurants like a factory, and improved on franchising, an easy way to set up businesses and make money. Other restaurants began basing themselves off of McDonald’s. As of McDonald’s influence on America: “We believe that the McDonald’s brand is… omnipresent… in America,”

Ancient Egypt has ruled over 3000 years with their influences still eminent today. Many elements of the forgotten culture still lives on such as their architecture, royal imagery, and their writing system. There’s so much to learn about Ancient Egypt, but scholars have a hard time acquiring the sources they need to discover more about this ancient civilization.
According to Stopbullying.gov, “Most bullying takes place in school, outside on school grounds, and on the school bus.” (Facts About Bullying,2017).
Susan Brison’s argument disagrees with Andrew Altman’s idea, that violent pornography is morally right and permissible. Altman argues that all pornography including violent pornography is permissible to produce and consume because one has a moral right to sexual autonomy. Altman also says one’s sexual autonomy is limited by duties one has to others. These duties include: preventing sexual violence, sexual inequality and sexual acts with non-consenting adults. If the pornographic production causes actual violence, sexual inequality or sexual acts with a non-consenting adult, Altman would say these productions fall outside of one’s sexual autonomy and as a result are morally problematic. Brison challenges Altman’s assumption that pornography doesn’t violate one’s sexual autonomy. Brison argues that violent pornography violates women’s sexual autonomy based on Catherine Mackinnon’s definition of these sexual productions. Mackinnon defines pornography as a sexualization of abuse stating, “Pornography sexualizes rape, battery, sexual harassment, and child sex abuse; it thereby celebrates, promotes, authorizes and legitimizes them.” Based on this definition, Brison clarifies her argument by proclaiming, “If pornography unjustly harms women, then there is no moral right to produce, sell or consume it.” She also lists several harms to women such as: harms to those who have pornography forced on them, increased or reinforced discrimination against - and sexual abuse of - girls and women, harms to boys and men whose attitudes toward women and whose sexual desires may be influenced by pornography, and lastly, harms to those who have already been victimized by sexual violence. I will critique the limited nature of Brison’s argument by exploring a role reversal where the man is being harmed, also homosexual pornographic productions. I will use her premise and apply it to these different scenarios to see if the standards are strong enough to be applied to porn universally.

Every day, millions of people wake up afraid of bullies. Bullying can happen anywhere, anytime. Bullying is a big issue these days, and bullies’ actions are very unpredictable. No one knows who a bullies’ next target might be and what their reasoning is. Today, bullying can be considered more extreme than it was even ten years ago, with the advent of the internet and resulting cyber-bullying. Many celebrities and organizations are speaking out for the cause, warning others about the dangers of bullying and the sometimes-fatal consequences.
As a new middle school student, I am put through challenges everyday from teachers. From homework to quarterlies, there is a pile of assignments. This can be new for some students. It is still new to me, and I have had it for over nine weeks! There are many differences between the middle school and elementary school.
Bullying is a big issue in the world these days. It is our job as teachers to address this issue in our classroom and teach children that bullying is not ok.
“Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to cast a stone.” (Jesus Christ) The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is a novel that tells that story of Hester Prynne, a woman charged with the sin of adultery in a small Puritan community during the 1600s. Over the course of the book, Hester who has repented for her sins is constantly kept in isolation from the rest of the community, whereas her partner in sin who is guilty of the same crime and has not publicly repented is held in the highest regards in the community. Hawthorne juxtaposes Hester and Dimmesdale’s sins and willingness to repent to exaggerate the unjust hypocrisy and judgment of the Puritans in the novel.
