George is a worker who travels farm to farm looking for a job with his friend who is mentally disabled man, Lennie. They live during the Great Depression. The two men dream of buying a small farm by saving all the money they possibly can. Even though George is the smallest and skinniest of them both he has more of dominant character over Lennie because of Lennie’s disability. George treats Lennie like his parent because of the difficult situation Lennie tends to involve George into. George must alway arise to responsibly and deal with any possible problems Lennie can cause in him. Lennie is a mentally disabled man he is obsesses over soft things. He loves to pet puppies and even dresses. In spite Lennie’s innocents, he can also be very violent because he is unable to control his physical strength. Lennie has the same dream as George to have their own land so that Lennie can tend the rabbits. Curley is short to most average men at his age. Due to his short characteristic he highly dislikes tall men. Therefor he dislikes Lennie and give him a hard time. He treats his wife not the best and alway looks down on her thinking she is with other men when he is not around. Curley’s wife is the only character in “Of Mice and Men” who does not have a name. She dislikes her husband and feels depressed most of the time. Although she is very lonely she has hope for a better life claiming she was almost a hollywood
