There was once a time when dragons and mortals coexisted in unity. This age of tranquility continued on for many years until greed and power planted itself in the hearts of man. Fearing that the mortals' avarice for power would corrupt the world, dragons and the forces of man went to war. The dragons were at a perilous disadvantage and in a desperate effort to end the war, they decided to summon the demon dragon, Lelanthus. This proved to be the dragons' greatest mistake. Like the mortals, Lelanthus had a great want for power. But in distinction to both dragons and humans, Lelanthus had a grave hatred for peace and harmony, and consequently, because of that, he wanted to bring complete destruction to the world. "Why didn't Lelanthus bring peace, Mother?" I asked. …show more content…
The only details that we dragons know about Lelanthus are that he despised both dragons and mortals. The rest of the certainty on Lelanthus remains undiscovered. "Tell me what happened next, Mother," I said. A pair of heroes rose up and decided to stop Lelanthus. One came from the mighty dragons, while the other came from the mortals. To impede Lelanthus's carnage, the heroes had to attain Zadan, a mythical blade infused with the capability to seal away Lelanthus, which was concealed in a sanctuary atop the mountains. The Heroes may have lost many of their family members in the attempt to seal away Lelanthus, but peace was restored to Lukra and the Dark Ages had come to a close. "Where was Lelanthus sealed, Mother?" I asked. "The temple in which Lelanthus is sealed is high above the lands of Ladus, the lands in which dragons call home. As one of the guardians of this temple, my duty is to watch over the seal and make sure Lelanthus can't be resurrected
In 1788, Israel Ludlow, Matthias Denman, and Robert Patterson bought 800 acres of land from John Cleves Symmes along the Ohio River at the mouth of Licking River. John had purchased 2,000,000 acres of land from the Confederation Congress in 1787 and hoped to become rich by selling parts of the purchase to others. By early January 1789, Israel had planned out the town, dividing it into two types of lots. Israel, Matthias, and Robert provided the first 30 settlers with two free lots, one of each type. The men named the town Losantiville. The town grew slowly at first. Settlers had constructed twenty cabins and one frame house. Eleven families and two dozen single men lived on the land. Eventually it increased in size.
Western hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla) has long been recognized as a major producer of timber along with providing habitat and browse for numerous animal species such as deer (Cervidae spp.) and elk (Cervus canadensis) (Packee 1990). Western hemlock is known to grow like a weed throughout most of its range which makes it an important species for esthetic backgrounds for many national parks in the United States and Canada. “There are no clinical data to support the use of chasteberry for reducing sexual desire, which has been a traditional application.” Even though Chasteberry has been used in the past for treatment of the body til this day, it does not have enough evidence to prove its effectiveness.
“A dragonking comes without warning, causes immense destruction and leaves unforeseeable changes in its wake.”
Ea continues lecturing the hero Enlil for his “lack [of] counsel” and impulsivity (184) in bringing the Deluge by reminding him to only punish “him who transgresses” (185) and “him who does wrong” (186), showing that Enlil behaved tyrannically because without counsel his godly power became uncontrollable. The prideful Enlil believed that all of humanity deserved to be destroyed even though not all of humanity committed wrongs. This pride that possessed Enlil caused him to lose control of his judgement, and therefore, power, causing the death of more humans than necessary. Enlil, a god, lost control of his power because of the pride that possessed and his impulsivity caused by his lack of counsel is comparable again with Gilgamesh, who in a prideful rage smashed the Stone Ones because they could not be killed by the waters of death, unlike himself (79). This further exemplifies that gods are prideful because of their great power and must have counsel in order to restrain their power, otherwise they will lose control of their great powers and unnecessarily destroy lesser

Edgar Allan Poe creates suspense in the short story, “The Tell-Tale Heart,” by using punctuation in the most terrifying and catastrophic part in the story to bring out the fear in the people. Poe also creates suspense by using imagery; the color in his pictures of the story is appealing and they stand out very scary. He also creates suspense by using repetition in his words that are being used to say that something very terrifying is going to happen. Edgar Allan Poe uses these 3 ways and much more to create suspense in his short story, “The Tell-Tale Heart,” to entertain and scare his readers. One of the ways Poe creates suspense in his short story is by punctuation.
In the text, it says “He and the dragon were destined to end their lives together. Beowulf
Daylilies might just flower for one day, however there are some daylilies that have numerous pods on them that ripen at the exact same time you might in fact have a fading blossom still on the blooming plant as the next flower opens-- and still another all set to break open anytime, like those from the Southern Living Plant Collection (SLPC). Daylilies are the subject of gardening discussion this month with Hattiesburg American promoting them on June 22 as this month's image walk chance in Mississippi for professional photographers who prefer to snap shots of stunning flowers.

In two ancient classics, we see a clear display of an abuse of power. In both The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Ramayana, we find protagonists who commit deeds of treachery in the name of slaying a monster. These slayings seem justified at first; however, as we examine them further we find that they are no more than heinous acts in the name of asserting power over the other. Both Gilgamesh and Rama kill monsters in the name of supporting what they believe in, but their beliefs are not always justified. When we closely examine the scenes of the monster slayings in both epics, we find that our that protagonists appear as power hungry war mongers and not the heroes that they claim to be. Both of these “heroes” kill in the name of supporting their own beliefs. For Rama, he kills in the name of subduing women’s sexuality while Gilgamesh kills in the name of claiming resources, particularly cedar trees, for his own.
Pollen allergens from ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) cause type I respiratory allergic reactions, such as hay fever and allergic rhinitis [1-5]. Ragweed is native to North America. Climate change is associated with an increased length of the pollen season as well as the amount of pollen [6-9]. In Europe, ragweed migrates as a neophyte and has become an increasing problem [10-14]. Furthermore, models predict an enlarged and northward shift as well as an increase in the pollen production of ragweed [15-17]. Due to the late flowering period in Europe, ragweed is a primary cause of allergenic reactions from late summer to autumn [18, 19]. In addition, a long-distance transport of ragweed pollen has also been taken into consideration [20-24].
"As they flew, the dragons had, through Umaroth, poured memory after memory into Eragon and Saphira: a cascade of experiences—battles won and battles lost, loves, hates, spells, events witnessed throughout the land, regrets, realizations, and ponderings concerning the workings of the world. The dragons possessed thousands of years of knowledge, and they seemed driven to share every last bit.
