Lebron James is the greatest basketball player of all time and surpasses Michael Jordan.Lebron James is the better than Michael Jordan because of stats, potential, and Michael Jordan’s overrated career.
Lebron James over the course of his career has averaged more rebounds (7.2) compared to Michael Jordan’s 6.2 rebounds per game. And averaged nearly 2 more rebounds per game than Jordan. Not to mention his advantage in Field Goal %, 3 point% and Field Goal Efficiency.("Basketball Statistics and History") He also boasts a better offensive efficiency than MJ which is considered by some as the most important stat of them all.("Land Of Basketball.com") Not to mention his better defensive efficiency and he has more blocks per game.
If you take in all these facts and realize Lebron’s potential considering he’s got 6-8 years left in NBA just considering the average NBA

But many NBA analysts also agree that Michael Jordan needed way more help to win championships than Lebron. He played with 2 Hall of Famers and struggled when they were not there. In fact when he came back to the Bulls, they actually won less games than the season before that. And failed to make the championship with him. He was also referred by many teammates and coaches as selfish and not always the best teammate. While Lebron receives praise for his great attitude and willingness to help his teammates.(Graham, "It's time to call LeBron James what he is: the NBA's greatest ever player")So while championships speak loudly, they often take away what other players accomplished and like to give all the credit to one
Lebron James should win the Greatest Player of the Year Award because Lebron has won many awards. According to Basketball-Reference.com James Won 4 most valuable player, 3 finals most valuable player, 2 all star game valuable player, won Sporting New MVP, won Sporting New Rookie of the Year, and Rookie of the Year.
Kobe supporters will point out that he is a better player than LeBron because he earned and won more NBA championships than LeBron with 5. People may also argue Lebron has more finals MVPs, but in reality, it's the number of championships in the end that you have won and been a part of. Unlike Lebron, Kobe has more all-defensive team selections with 12 selections for defensive team all-NBA. According to the website, www.sportskeeda.com
I believe that LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan due to LeBron had hit 30,000 career points at 33 years old, LeBron was a more team player than Michael, despite Michael had arguably the greatest coach of all time, Phil Jackson. LeBron was a 6’8” small forward (who would eventually play all positions on the court) straight out of high school when he was drafted. During LeBron’s senior year in high school he averaged 31.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists
First, He has made around 90 million dollars from just shoes. His shoes are one of the most bought basketball shoes in the world besides Jordans. Next, Even though LeBron James went straight to the NBA, he is still very intelligent on and off the court. He knows plays and and is school and street smart. Again, going back to money, he has made a lot in the NBA. He has made 450 million from just the NBA, while Kevin has made 90 million. Those are reasons Lebron James is successful on and off the court.
MJ always had an all-star by his side, in all of his final appearances, he had one of the best defenders in NBA history by his side, Scottie Pippen, who averaged 20 points every year. Jordan also had a top 3 rebounder, Dennis Rodman. Jordan also had one of the best head coaches of all time, Phil Jackson, who won 11 NBA championships. Jordan never had to carry a team on his own like LeBron. According to LeBron, he has played in the Finals with zero all-stars 3 times and was the only all-star in a team with not-so-reliable role players.
When considering greatness, there are certain factors that should be pondered upon. Physical capability, aptitude on the court, and leadership are all major factors in determining a player’s legendary status. Kobe Bryant and LeBron James display all of these qualities, and worked day in and day out throughout their careers to achieve those key factors. But when considering who the better player is, LeBron bests Kobe in every
Two of the greats in the NBA, Lebron James and Kobe Bryant. These two basketball stars are some of the greatest players of all time. Whenever there is a need for a game winning shot for the L.A Lakers or the Miami Heat, these two guys will be taking that shot. That is how much confident a coach has on them. When there are two great athletes like these, there is always a question. Which of the two is better? Although Lebron James and Kobe Bryant are usually compared, they also have much differences that makes each one of them great.
Lebron James and Kobe Bryant are two of the most explosive players in the NBA today. Each player has his own playing style that separates him from the rest of the league. Both players have their own career achievements, endorsements, and personal life stories behind the game. If you ask anybody, the comparison between these two players is great. It is a never ending debate between who is better because both players have something different to bring to the table. Side by side on paper, both players seem dominant and may one day end up in the basketball hall of fame. But as individuals, side by side, each has a different but similar life.
Michael Jordan is considered to be the most iconic person in sports history. Since 2002, Lebron James has been compared not only to be the next Michael Jordan but also having the potential of being a better basketball player than him. Some basketball fans might agree and some might disagree, but at the end of the day everyone will have their own opinion of who is better than whom. Lebron James and Michael Jordan do have many things in common even though they play different positions in the national basketball association. They both can dominate the court with their leadership, their skills, and their strength. Surprisingly, there are just as many differences as there are similarities between the
For example, according to CBSsports, one of LeBron’s accomplishments was being selected as first pick in the 2003 NBA draft. Being chosen as first pick goes to show that you exceeded the standards set by High Schools and colleges, and you performed well in your young years. Many might say that Kobe was also a first pick in the draft, what makes him so much different from LeBron? Well, LeBron was getting more recognition because of the way he played, therefore he performed better which is what makes him special. Another example of his accomplishments is winning rookie of the year in 2004 because of his averaging of 7.3 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 2.2 steals a game. Rookie of the year is exactly as it sounds. A player does well enough in their rookie year and then gets nominated and voted for much later. Coming into the NBA and playing with people that have been there for years, and then performing well against them is definitely something to boast about. In my final example which is also from CBSsports, scoring 10,000 to 20,000 points and being the youngest to do it is listed as another one of LeBron’s accomplishments. Most people don’t really care about the points a player scores, but if you think about it this way, LeBron James is almost always carrying his team and this is easily seen by the number of points he scores. He scored around 25-30 points a game and soon he reached a point where some really good NBA players could not
It seems impossible, but we habitually forget just how great at basketball, LeBron James is at basketball. For such a great player, he endures more criticism, than any other superstar, regardless of the sport.
When looking at Jordan and James’ fame, they are both equally popular, but it is how they handle the fame that sets them apart. Jordan is a class act, meaning he carries himself with honorable pride, not vanity. After Jordan signed with Nike his game only got better. He never felt as if he was too good for improvement and showed everyone great respect. James differs after he signed with Nike, his game flat-lined. He never showed any kind of improvement in his game, and his team never got any better. It seemed like he only tried when he had the ball, especially when his team was getting blown out.
Drafted first overall in the 2003 NBA draft, twelve time NBA all star, four time NBA most valuable player, and three time NBA champion. These are just a few of the many accomplishment that Lebron James has made on the basketball court. While being the face of the NBA and the greatest basketball player of this generation Lebron will tell you himself that those accomplishment are not the ones that he is most proud of. When Lebron is not on the court gliding through the air like a bird or making some of the most spectacular plays that make people watching just jump out of their seats in disbelief he spends a lot of his free time giving back to the community. That is why today we are here on his behalf to honor him with the Sportsmen of Year award,
Michael Jordan was the greatest because of his amazing statistics, his undeniable ability to win, and his lasting effect on the NBA. It will be a very long time, if ever, that there will be a player who was better than Jordan. While there are very many people in the NBA that are extremely talented, none of them stand
When it comes to who is the best active basketball player, these two names come at the top of the list, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. They come first not only because they both started their career right after graduating from high school, but they have achieved lot and been rewarded so many times base of their great performance at young age. The two players are so great that many people are already saying that they are better than Michael Jordan, “The Greatest Basketball Player of All Time”. James and Bryant so great that basketball’s fans have given them nicknames because of their spectacular performance. Kobe Bryant is known as “The Black Mamba” because of his aggressiveness, and ability to dominate his opponents every time. On the other hand, LeBron James is also known as ‘King James” because he also plays in a very aggressive way just like Bryant and in addition to that, King James also has the ability to defeat his opponent and also able to defend any basketball player and still dominates. Although both of these two players are super stars however, only one of them can be title as the best player of their era and because of that, comparing head to head is the only way to pick one as the best active player.
