I am a leader in a variety of campus organizations. In the leadership role, I thrive on responsibilities. I am organized and I am reliable. One thing that makes me a strong leader is my ability to self-reflect and make changes to enhance a task. I am highly motivated individual and I enjoy bringing out the best in others.
I have had numerous personal development experience to improve my understanding of teaching. I have read a multitude of literature addressing leadership, teaching strategies, and understanding students with disabilities. I have also had experiences with incorporating art, movement, music, and drama into a lesson plan. Finally, I have had experiences in creating a unit lesson.
I am a member of the National Society of Leadership

With my learning disabilities, everyone seemed to sit on a pedestal of achievements while I was struggling to understand why achieving was so hard for me. All of my teachers would modify the lesson and try their best to accommodate for me. Through all the efforts of my teachers and myself, my grades started to slip along with my motivation to keep trying in school. This disinterest followed me to college where I switched my major three times before I fell into my unknown passion of education. My first semester of education classes I started noticing I was achieving at a higher level than I had before, and the feeling was unbelievable. Next semester I was able to experience time in a classroom and work with students. I worked very closely with a student who reminded me of myself at that age. At the end of those 30 hours spent with these students, one student came to me and thanked me, for taking time to listen to this student’s problems and for trying to understand what this student was going through. That one thank you is what attracted me to the teaching profession. I want to be a teacher because I want all students to feel the pure bliss of achieving. I want to make sure no student feels misunderstood as I did. Lastly, I want to be a role model who brings all students and children to their highest level of
I have demonstrated my ability to lead pedagogy by developing and modeling effective forms of teaching practice, by inviting colleagues to share resources I have created and to observe my lessons. I also engage in regular professional dialogue with colleagues regarding their implementation of new teaching methodologies and strategies.
As an effective leader, we will empower every individual regardless of their race, sex or religion. I will be the leader that encourages and inspires others to exhibit the best version of themselves each day. I will be honest and true to who I am and allow my strengths to help others. We must be open to self-awareness and take advantage of opportunities for personal growth and development. I strongly believe it is very important that I understand my own personal beliefs and values before becoming a leader to others.
In my opinion, a leader is a visionary that is supportive, responsible, and adaptable; all the while seeks to not only improve themselves but those around them. I have always been a visionary; I am a thinker who daydreams all the time and has envisioned a career for herself. I see myself as an entrepreneur in the STEM field who will not stop until she has become the best tech leader the world has ever seen; it is because of this desire that I strive to gain and display the qualities of a leader. A supportive leader is one who provides their team with the tools and support needed to complete tasks and goals; they help with anything needed. As a volunteer of my community who has completed more than 152 hours of community service, I take pride and
My highest scored driving force is altruistic and my second highest is selfless. These are great qualities for a leader to have. I put others needs and well-being before my own and help others achieve their goals. My lowest two driving forces are instinctive and structured. These qualities are important for managers, especially structure. Structure is one of the main descriptive words used when talking about management. My low score in that means I need to become more structured and follow traditions in order to become a better manager.
In my opinion, Leadership is not a position but an action. Everyone is a leader, at least for himself. How he decide what he want to do with his life. Being a moderator in a meeting also require leadership skills. In order to be a good leader, someone has to ask a question to himself, what kind of leader that he wish for lead him.
A big passion of mine is playing sports. I have been participating in sports for my entire life. A characteristic that I have shown through my years of sports is leadership. I have been named captain of my basketball team because my coach believes my leadership is great motivation for my teammates. Throughout my years of basketball, my leadership quality has greatly impacted our success.
When leading troops it is essential for the leader to understand his or her command environment and how they fit in to that environment. For me, becoming an effective leader begins with this: How do I fit in to my organization and what can I offer my organization and the Soldiers that look to me for guidance. To become an effective leader I have had to address this issue first and foremost. My philosophy is simple, know the needs of the organization, know my personal strengths and weaknesses, and know my Soldiers. This is the philosophy that I try to pass to my subordinates. By knowing these three simple statements I have found that I can become a more effective team member as well as leader to both enlisted and officers alike who look to me for guidance.
Many define leadership as the action of leading a group of people, but to me leadership
Throughout my life, I have never really been a follower in the typical sense. While I have looked to people older than me for help and advice. In addition, I never really saw myself as a typical leader. What I mean by that is I felt that I was a leader by doing my own thing and not worrying about everyone else or being a part of a particular clique. What I realized by just going about my business is that my attitude attracted others in the sense that they knew I was about work and wanted to emulate my demeanor in order for to be successful in school. One time that I recall in which I had to lead a team of my peers was this past summer. I enrolled in a few summer classes in order to better prepare me for college. For one of my classes
Who am I as a leader? What comes to mind when you hear the word leader? Some would think of our Commander in Chief, others may think of their boss or their teachers. All of these are just titles. I believe that leadership is something that can’t be narrowed down into a title or a position of employment. The choices we make and the obstacles we conquer is what I believe to define us as a leader. With the personal experiences I have had to bear as a U.S. Marine Infantryman and civilian worker, my leadership abilities have proven dedication to my team, knowledge and determination in specific trade, and the ability to motivate those around me.
Leadership is an essential characteristic of every human being of the 21st century. There are many types of leaders and many ways of being a leader. I believe it is important to say that leader is not just a person who impose their ideas or decides how everything should work. A leader must be someone that we can trust. My most recent and special experience as a leader was throughout my senior year when I was named captain of my school´s soccer team.
To me a leader is someone who influences a group of people. Leadership is an action that the leader preforms. Leadership shows the impact you have on people, what you believe, and why they should follow you. Being a leader at times can be very hard. It is always hard to stand up for what you believe. There is always going to be someone to tell you your wrong and tear you down. If you are a leader you have to learn to endure this and move forward. A leader is a mentors and helps others.
Leadership is in everyone even if you don’t try or even want to be a leader there is someone who looks at you as a role model if it is a little kid or one of your peers. People are all different and everyone wants to be like everyone else. Being a leader is not always good you could lead people to do the wrong things, like make the same bad choice you did. Somewhere along the line you have been both a good and a bad leader and no one has a choice who they influence with the choices they make. Leadership skills that I have developed are focus, determination, and responsibility; these, like many others, make up who I am and what I portray to others.
Confidence, communication and commitment are just three of many traits that a leader possesses. Having those traits may help you become a leader but continuous hard work and dedication makes you one. To continue to be a leader you must also be intelligent, courageous, and determined. Becoming a leader is difficult but continuing to be one is even more difficult.
When I started elementary school, I instantly became curious about education. Because I have Cerebral Palsy, I was placed in special needs classes and I was given easier assignments than my peers. From kindergarten through fifth grade, I wanted to challenge myself to be on the same educational level as the rest of my peers. As I began to do more work, my teachers and peers would tell me, “You can’t do it, just give up.” As a result, and for the longest time, I gave up on what I wanted to do. I started to work on the easier assignments I was given.
