In the dictionary leadership is defined as analytical management ability and it is that talent to influence a group of individuals toward a mutual goal. These abilities will aid a leader in developing his skills as a leader. Leaders play an enormous part whether the duty that they are taking on is immense or unimportant. Leaders face extraordinary challenges as they attempt to communicate and interact with their workforces and prospective associates to comprehend and understand what they think and what they perform. Leaders should also recognize that creativeness and innovation are the life of their company. The undertaking of each leader must be to examine constantly for concepts and programs that are healthier for the business that they are presently committed to.

The next question posed to Rene inquired about essential characteristics of a leader. After giving the question some thought she responded by saying that a leader must be able to remain objective and prioritize. “Prioritizing in my job is essential,” Rene stated, “with so many issues to deal with some nights it can be difficult to determine which to tackle first. However, remaining calm and objective in your decision making can help a leader prioritize properly, which can improve patient outcomes.” Additionally, Rene emphasized that the best leaders lead by example. By displaying desired attitudes and behaviors, a nursing leader may inspire their staff to act in a similar manner. Another area Rene stressed when posed this question was a leader’s ability to support learning. She went on to state that “it is necessary to focus on learning, not chastising. Placing the blame on someone rather than stepping back and looking at the details of a problem, deters the team from achieving the overall goal. Incident reports remain vital to the process of learning.” Rene continued to emphasis that by filling out incident reports individuals can analyze a situation or process and determine where the flaws or errors remain present. Without incident reports and learning from mistakes, growth remains difficult. Diana S. Contino (2011), author of “Leadership Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, and Aptitudes Nurses Need to Lead Organizations Effectively,” believes that organizational and
Qualities of a good leader are not always easy to identify. It is easy to tell when someone is doing a bad job of being a leader. Things like not taking responsibility, not directing people, and having to be told what to do are all qualities that make someone a less likely candidate to be a leader. While it is difficult to pin point what specifically makes a good leader many people been living examples of what this entails. Ralph from William Golding’s Lord of the Flies and Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights activist are both examples of brilliant leaders.

As a leader you think of someone who possesses a number of qualities, enthusiasm, good judgment, intelligent, a people person and a great speaker.
A society with an absence of leadership is one that exhibits disarray and pandemonium. Leadership, therefore, is a vital facet of human life and can be seen as a building block from which great nations were built upon or large corporations have thrived under. I believe leadership is intrinsically in all human beings, however some leadership traits in people are far more superior than others. This paper will evaluate results from multiple assessments that identify my particular leadership potential. Using Northouse’s text, this paper will also identify my particular strengths and weakness within leadership. The penultimate paragraph of this paper will consider how my evaluated leadership style interacts within my work environment.
When thinking about a leader, an important question to ask is what really makes a leader great, and what does he or she do to make themselves so great? Webster’s Dictionary describes a leader as a person who directs a military force or unit, and/or a person who has commanding authority or influence. So when faced with that definition one might believe that a leader has qualities such as passionate, hard working, one that can influence and inspire others, etc. Then there is also the contradicting statement that it depends on situation and how the leader handles it. He or she doesn’t need those qualities as long as they are able to lead their country well. For example many would state that Hitler was not a good leader because he was a bad person, but in all actuality Hitler was very good leader that just did horrible things. This
Leaders have lots of traits and characteristics. Every great leader needs to be brave and honest in order to lead. With these characteristics leaders are not scared to do anything in life. Being kind will help people love the leader.Leaders canbe and or have many charateristics in the world.
Organizations depend on the management and leadership skills of individuals in order to be successful. Leaders do not have to be managers but are equally important. Leaders are individuals who possess traits, behavior and abilities to influence others to accomplish tasks and other needed objectives for the company. Leadership is defined as “the ability of an individual to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organization. . . .” (House et al., 1999, pg. 184).
Over the years, a great deal of time, and research has been dedicate to the study of leadership. Even with extensive data on the topic, many still disagree on what leadership really means. Hence, leadership is a word that has many different meanings and different researched theories associated with it. On a basic level, leadership involves having and establishing a clear vision, sharing that vision with followers, respecting followers, and leading an organization with excellence while ensuring that everyone is part of the team. Leadership is also a method by which a leader uses his or her influence towards getting a group of followers to take ownership or buy into a vision.
Leadership is leading a group of people to reach a common objective. Healthier systems, the industry in which I plan to be a leader, are comprised of various departments, professional groups, and specialties which depend on leadership because they need to capitalize on diversity within the organization to work towards common goals (Sakai, 2013). Programs and organizations can achieve results in complex conditions through leadership. Having strong leaders is critical to the team's success. The leader can influence the group to achieve the organizational goals. I believe everyone has some leadership potential in them, and it is ingrained with their creativity. Everyone can have an imagination which is helpful in improving situations in new ways of organizing and self-empowerment.
There are many qualities that a leader should possess, and I have outlined some of these below:
Indeed shaping oneself to become a leader is not an overnight process, one requires great patience and time to develop strong leadership styles to help harness the followers skills and talents they bring to an organization. The leadership styles characterizes of skills, situational and behavioral approaches. These three approaches are essential to effective leadership if only they are better understood by the leaders themselves. Skills approach for example, appears to be a vital approach because it is important to accomplish goals and objectives and solve complex problems in the workplace. Combining these three basic administrative skills that is technical, human and conceptual ought to help leaders understand the dynamics of goals at hand, the followers and the overall objectives of an organization.
Whether you are a historian, CEO of an S&P 500 company, or simply anyone that has heard the term leadership, you may know that leadership has different interpretations and practices. Bill Gates’ definition of leadership will differ from President Obama’s, and President Obama’s definition will differ from Peyton Manning’s. The Behavior Science 310 course defines leadership as “the process of influencing an organized group toward accomplishing its goals” (188). With this clear definition, why do we have good and bad leaders in the world? In every situation a leader must understand what type of leadership to use while understanding their strengths and weaknesses. This paper will highlight two of my leadership strengths, two of my leadership weakness and propose a plan to improve my weaknesses.
There is no perfect skill set for a successful business owner and the 'cookie cutter ' approach some people take is wrong. Businesses vary, and as a result, the skills needed to own and run them vary also. With that, there are some general traits that successful business leader should have.
