Laura Kipnis Sexual Paranoia Summary

Satisfactory Essays

In “Sexual Paranoia” Laura Kipnis is talking about how back then it was normal for professors to date their former students. But to me, the essay was more serious than that. A sentence that made me think hard was “If I make sexual comments to someone and that person doesn’t ask me to stop, then I guess that my behavior is probably welcome" (105). I honestly did not know the answer to this question. But I decided there is no one answer. So I came up with three. If you are making sexual comments to someone and they do not tell you to stop then that can mean they want it, they are afraid to say stop or no, or it all depend on who the person is. If a person wants you to continue with your comments then you might be able to tell by their body movement
