Part I. Summary and reflection
Our presentation begins with the discussion of different land systems in dynastic China and in modern China. Compared to the number of dynasties and governments that ruled China, the number of land systems various government adopted is much smaller. However, there are still quite a few noteworthy land systems. The detailed information is as follows.
The earliest land system put into nation-wide practice in dynastic China is the well-field system starting in western Zhou dynasty. It divides a square piece of land into nine smaller pieces similar to the checkerboard. The nine pieces consist of the one communal field in the center and eight private

China also has a Confucianism based education system. In dynastic China, although various philosophy prospered, Confucianism is widely used in the Civil Service Examination. Questions are typically made of Confucian Classics, such as The Four Books and the Great Studies (Gao, 2010). Because the test is so competitive and difficult, Confucian classics became the only thing that many test -takers studied for their entire life. No matter they make it to the office or not, Confucianism roots deeply in their heads. In modern day China, Confucianism are taught at an early stage of the education, as the government constantly promotes it. In some places like its capital Beijing, Confucianism is taught as early as in preschools. The major part of the teaching focuses on the respect of the superiors, proper ways to conduct oneself, and trusting the ruling class. I believe it is safe to say that Confucianism has a huge influence on the education …show more content…
The result has two sides. We have really wonderful people now in China. Because their Confucian education, they are diligent, friendly and caring. They are resilient, united and proud. It is hard, if not impossible, to find people like them elsewhere in the world. In the meantime, however, there is a not so Confucian government. It takes advantage of the trust people give claiming the ownership of most of the land in China for its own interest. In the hands of the government, Confucianism has become a tool that used by it to reinforce its governing and to justify its actions. In the same time, people, under the influence of Confucianism, don’t know or don’t want to fight back. Because one of the core values of Confucianism is respecting the superiors and trusting the government. Here I am not trying to say that Confucianism is a bad philosophy; on the contrary, I believe Confucianism is generally good and people can still learn a lot from it. What I want to say is Confucianism, like many other things, has two sides. When used in a good way, it can promote the well-being of the people. Falling into the wrong hands, it can do some
Confucianism has been a part of Chinese culture for over a thousand years. Many who have studied Confucianism would say that it is not a religion. It is better described as a philosophy or moral code. The philosophy of Confucianism comes mainly from the speeches and writings of Confucius, a great Chinese thinker and educator. He believed that Humanity, Rite, Neutrality, Virtue, Education, and Cultivation were the basis of human behavior. In addition, Confucius felt that this philosophy was the best way for people to behave and interact with others in society.
Confucianism had a positive impact on China because it increased social stability. Confucianism is a philosophy which focused on everyday problems and the relationships between people. It’s main goal was to restore peace, harmony and social order. Confucius is the creator of Confucianism believed that societies like China had lost touch traditions and morals so he made the concept “filial piety” which stressed “respect for ones parents, elders, and ancestors… bring a good name to ones parents and ancestors… he believed that if everyone respected, their family, was obedient, and worked hard to bring honor to their families name”. (Document 1).
One of the most prosperous periods took place during the reign of the Han dynasty. The Confucius philosophy was widely accepted and practiced throughout the empire. One of the major factors in the spread of practice for this School of Thought was the introduction of the civil service exams. The Han inserted these exams into their societies to extend the knowledge of Confucian philosophies. In order to earn an important role in the government under the Han Dynasty, one must have a great understanding of this philosophy, and have passed the exam. This created a new basis of education in the empire, and led to modernization. The civil service exams existed in China until the 20th century, adding up to over two thousand years. Although the new guidelines had a positive effect in the education system and government, it caused them to look down on other cultures, and made them unwilling to westernize their ideals, and cultures. Ethnocentrism clouded the empire, and paused modernization. Unfortunately this would affect them later on, in the

Confucianism is a time enduring philosophy that has stood up to invading clans, war, resentment, enforcement and infringement of new philosophies, and eventually, revival. For almost 80 years, up until the late 1970’s, Confucianism and its ideas and values have been all but wiped away from China. Though effort was made to remove Confucianism for good from China by the Communist leader Mao Zedong in 1949, the ideas and values were so deeply embedded into peoples mind and the culture that even suppression could not keep it out of the culture and practices. The main factor that has brought Confucianism back into the limelight in China and other East Asian countries is the recent
China had a government that was split into three different kingdoms called Wu, Shu-Han, and Wei. They split that into three so it was easier to control and watch over. In ancient China there were a few different types of governments. These governments were the aristocrats, the dynasties, and kings or emperors. There were the Aristocrats.
An immense part of culture in China has been Confucianism. Confucianism has been a part of China’s culture since about 500 B.C.E. Confucianism is defined as a system of philosophical and ethical teachings founded by Confucius and developed by Mencius. Multiple human rights issues have stemmed from the strong beliefs behind Confucianism. Look to see what the article says about it.
Confucianism is an Eastern Asia religion/philosophy. Described as a way of life. Confucianism is neither said to be a monotheistic nor a polytheistic religion. This religion originated in China during the 6th-5th century BCE, and has since then spread to countries such as Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. Confucianism which means “The School of the Scholars” developed from the teachings of Confucius. It is more a system of ethics and social behavior. People who follow the teachings of Confucius also observe traditional Chinese religion, which is a combination of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism alongside local practices and beliefs. Confucianism has greatly influenced the history of Chinese civilizations, cultures, and territories up to the 21st century.
Confucianism has had a huge influence within the civilization of the Chinese ever since it was established. Within 6th and 5th century BCE, a wise prominent man by the name of Confucius, developed from his teachings a philosophical system called Confucianism. This system was a complex idea of moral, social, political, and religious thought expressing the need of love for the respect of elders, humanity, ancestor worship, and harmony in thought and behavior. Many early Chinese leaders were opposed to the idea of Confucianism for many reasons. These early leaders ruled with punishment and force and filled the minds of their people with terror and fear.
Although not always apparent, Romeo and Juliet have quite the rebellious streak. After all they were star crossed lovers. No saint would ever fall for the enemy but yet, thanks to the rebellion within, Romeo and Juliet became a worldwide sensation. Juliet is the girl next door. A timid girl with fair skin and doe eyes.
In general, Confucianism was not necessarily looked upon as a religion yet it did have many traits that ended up being related to other countries religions. The effect Confucianism had on China was it was able to teach moral philosophy, responsibility, hierarchy, relationships, self-cultivation, education, religion, morality, having the exam system. It provided lots of strength in china through its practices. It was able to provide education as well. It was able to imply morals and what it means to be a proper gentleman.
It is based on the teachings of Confucius (551-479 BCE). From around 100 BCE into the 20th century it has been perhaps the most important force shaping Chinese society. Over the millennia, Confucianism has had a profound impact on the nature of Chinese government end education. It has also had a profound influence of personal behavior within Chinese society. At around 100 BCE, Emperor Wu of Han declared Confucianism to be China’s official state philosophy.
Confucian culture, also known as Confucianism, was founded by Confucius during the Spring and Autumn Period, which was developed gradually after the Han Dynasty with benevolence as the core. Since the Han Dynasty, Confucianism was the official ideology and the basis of mainstream ideology in the vast majority of historical periods of China, and it also influenced many southeast Asian countries in history. After a variety of shocks, Confucianism was still the core values of China's social public, and represented the Chinese culture and national tradition in the world (Littlejohn, 2010). In the contemporary society, the Confucian culture in China increasingly spread, at the
Confucianism was founded by the first Chinese thinker to address both the political and social order of things straightforwardly and self- consciously. Kong Fuzi, or Confucius in English, lived from 551-479 B.C.E., but his teachings did not reach their full potential during the his life of an educator and political advisor born into an aristocratic family. Confucius gathered many disciples to spread his beliefs that were rooted in moral, ethical, and political character. He didn’t address questions about religion because he believed they were above the human moral intelligence capacity, nor those regarding obscure, complicated philosophical questions because they would not help solve the problems of China. Confucius did not really even care about the state, but he did believe
Confucianism is by far one of the best beliefs and shows many important aspects of life. A Philosopher named Kong Qiu first started Confucianism. Kong Qiu is better known by the name, Confucius. Confucius was born in 551 B.C and he saw that the world was filled with too much sorrow; therefore he came up with the philosophy of Confucianism. Confucius believed that his philosophy would impact all of China and would restore humanity, and it did. Later on Confucius’s teachings had become a government
