Infinite and everlasting you as your sisters echo through eternity.

The Black Sacred Cosmos was developed through the conjoining of the African traditional past with Western Christianity. It explains the influence of the Middle Passage, and the efforts of enslavers to force assimilation of the Africans to Western religious beliefs and cultural practices. Traditional African religions encompassed all portions of life; believers found something sacred in their daily experiences. Modern day black religions encompass life as well, but there are certain days like Sunday, or Saturday in the Adventist church, where we may dedicate more time to God. Traditional religions were tied to family lines, from birth to death.

So, is the current criminal justice system working to prevent cases of unequal treatment under the law?

This poem is short but understandable than the “Behold, the grave of a wicked man” A man said to the Universe it seems the man is that the man was telling him that he was there. He existed, however the Universe replied coldly by saying so what? It is just you, your nobody. Who cares. The universe is adamant about it. We exist but the universe does not see us like in reality. For example, yes I did my journal but what is my professor going to act? Well, good for you it is your job. So it really does not affect my professor but it will surely affect my grade wether I do it or not.

However, the flapper girl stereotype was not the only trend that women saw in the 1920s, as women found themselves in the middle of the art deco movement, where a mix of exotic and flirtatiousness led to a different kind of modern woman, displayed by Greta Garbo throughout her career. When Garbo entered the American film industry, she emerged as an art deco icon, where the roles she was cast in continued to reflect clear mannerisms of the movement, and the audience saw her to be this exotic and modern woman. In Bean and Negra’s A Feminist Reader in Early Cinema, the authors describe how the art deco movement affected the public’s perception of the female role, creating “...complicated codes for femininity…” combined with “...modernity and its
In this weeks reading I found myself rather confused. This was because as I read I found my current viewpoint and ideas changing in regards to the subject of evil, but Ill get to that in a bit. The fourth book opens up with Boethius cutting of Lady Philosophy in order to express his difficulty in understanding why evil still exists despite there being an omniscient and omnipotent God. Lady Philosophy goes on to explain to Boethius (and convince him yet again) why it is that evil exists, and why those who are evil are not truly punished. It is my understanding that Lady Philosophy goes on to explain that God is a being with his own outlook on time. In other words, for God there is no linear time in past, present, and future.
Vignette number one, “The Moon Lady”, is shown through the eyes of Ying-Ying St. Clair, the mother in this St. Clair mother-daughter pair. Ying-Ying begins to realize that her daughter is beginning to lose sign of what is important. She then begins to blame herself for this. For example, Ying Ying wants to tell her daughter “We are lost, she and I, unseen and not seeing, unheard and not hearing, unknown by others.”(Tan 67). With believing that they both have lost sight of what is important, she begins her childhood story. Throughout most of the story she is a very fidgety and carefree child. For instance, Ahmad yells at Ying-Ying saying “Stand still, Ying-Ying!”(Tan 69). This gleeful child later turns into a very fearful and curious child. In this case, Ying-Ying falls from the boat and is saved and while on the shore hears “The Moon Lady...and the very sound of those magic words made me forget my troubles.”(Tan 80). While we read this vignette we begin to see that guidance is needed in numerous aspects of life. Throughout Ying-Ying’s story there is no real broad mother figure in her young life. With the limited guidance of the minor mother figure in her life, it made her lose sight of what is important which in turn made her daughter lose sight due to the fact of her mother’s modest guidance.

The short story “Paper” by Catherine Lim shows the symbolism and consequences of money if put before any other aspects in life such as family, friends and self-care. The author calls this story “Paper” because of how money can represent negative and positive situations. Catherine explores greed through this story in many different aspects.
When reading the shadow, the first thought that came to my mind was that this poem seemed pointless and held little or no meaning to it, but when I reexamined the shadow, being more mindful to the details this time, I finally recognized the genius of this piece and my opinion of the shadow drastically changed.but undoubtedly, what made this poem change my perspective to such an extent, was it’s ability to portray our human nature and display them so vividly and unlike any other, I was given a new outlook on our emotions, actions, and desire's as something we have to keep under control, but sometimes we have to let our suppressed emotions manifest us in order to keep things balanced and to let loose some steam and be yourself.
As every shade the light makes on your face Exalts my clocks to stop The hands of it become still So that the emotions of momentum take over As it also needs to build memories of you As never before and never again Will it see someone so wonderful as
