The story takes place in olden times with a semi-barbaric king where if someone goes on trial they go into a arena where they choose their own fate and either open a door that a tiger is behind or open a door that a beautiful lady is behind. A man goes on trial who is having a love affair with the king’s daughter and so the princess has to decide whether to tell the man to open the door with the lady or the tiger in it. The reasons the lady tells the man to open the door with the tiger are “How in her grievous reveries had she gnashed her teeth, torn her hair, when she saw his start of rapturous delight as he opened the door of the lady!” (Stockton 3) and “... she hated the woman who blushed and trembled behind the silent door” (Stockton 3).

Women will do almost anything for love, to be loved, or to keep love. That is their mission. When women become jealous, however, the love they want to hold onto disappears, becomes selfishness, and one does not know if it is love anymore. The punishment is to be devoured by a fierce tiger and the reward is to be married to a lovely damsel of the court. This story ends with all wondering, so which is it, the delicate and fair young lady or the savage, fierce, wild-eyed tiger standing behind the door. This makes us ponder whether human heart chooses love or jealously. Within this essay, there will be proof that it is the stunning young woman behind the door. Although there is evidence proving that it is the tiger, in a sense there is more evidence stating that the elegant and barbaric princess allowed her real lover to continue living. To begin let us start with the small dwindling points that the tiger, lye behind the door.

"The Lady, or the Tiger?" is a short story by Frank R. Stockton that takes place in a land ruled by a semi-barbaric king who rules sternly, and has a creative punishment for criminals that were brought to his attention. They are led to an arena where there are two doors; the accused must choose one. Behind one door, there is a tiger, who will maul the accused to death. Behind the other door, there is a fair maiden, chosen by the king himself. If the criminal selects this door, then the pair will be instantly married. The story kicks in when the king's (almost as barbaric) daughter is caught having an affair with one of the king's courtiers. As expected, the courtier is sent to the arena, but the princess has found out which door will contain which punishment. However, the fair maiden behind one of the doors is someone the princess hates. The princess gestures towards the right door and the story ends on a cliff hanger. Despite the ending, it can be inferred that the princess sent the courtier to the tiger.

“Did the princess choose the Lady or the Tiger for her lover”. The king of the country was semi-barbaric, and his way of justice was to be put in an arena, and to open up a door what came out was a lady or a tiger. The young man was dating the princess, and the king didn’t like that someone was with his daughter, so he put him on trail. The princess knew what was behind each of the two doors, and told her lover which one to open, but you don’t know which one is behind the door because the story ends with no one knowing. It is clear that the author gives you enough evidence that would support she will choose the lady for her lover.

Some think love conquers all, but that's not true. This story not only about the strong love between a princess and a youth, but a story of how humans can turn that love into something ugly. The princess, without a question, chose the tiger, nit only because she loved him with all her heart but because she was selfish and human. Humans aren't perfect, and love doesn't help fix

Knowing that her lover would forever be taken by another woman she so greatly despised she chose to point to the door which awaited a gruesome tiger. The ladies semi-barbaric nature, a lot like her fathers helped drive her to make her decision and the man knew. So as the man approached the right door he knew of this nature that his lover possesses and slowly moved toward the left door. The arena was incredibly quiet as the man placed his hand around the handle to open the door. Then in what felt like weeks the man opened the door and after a couple seconds of hesitation out walked a beautiful young lady.

The short story The Lady Or The Tiger has the setting of the medieval times . There was a semi -barbaric king that took delight in fixing the wrong doing of others. He was a very Cruel especially during in the trials . The king did not have trails for the justice for the kingdom but for his enjoyment and aesthetic pleasure .His trails were simple , the accused person would enter the arena in which they were two doors .One had a tiger behind of it while the other had a maiden behind it.

The princess had to make a difficult decision that changed her life, and not for the better. The princess had a deep love for a young man; no one can come between them, not even the king. Although she loved the young man, she hated the lady behind the door. As difficult as the decision was, she made it without hesitation. She sent him to the tiger so their love could last forever.

The princess told her lover to pick the right door, which the tiger had to be in. Any girl would be stupid to let the guy pick the door with the lady in it. The princess is very jealous, she does not even want to think about him talking to the beautiful lady. She hates the lady just because she's so gorgeous.

If people are blessed, they will have a beautiful wife. If they don’t they will die in the horrible way. When the king finds out that his daughter and commoner are in a love relationship, he gets angry. The king immediately chooses a day for the man to enter the arena to face the challenge. The princess knows which door can’t save his life, but she is confused about whether she should rescue him or not. Because she doesn’t want him to get married to someone less, and she also doesn’t want him to die. The king gives a change for criminal reward and punishment. The lady represents a new beginning, and the tiger represents for the end of life. This essay describes the princess’s process of making the decision before her darling’s trial. The princess is trying to understand her emotions of love, trust, and hope as well as juggling with the feelings of jealousy, selfishness, and personality. I suggest that the foundation of the story pertains to how the princess would like to let the man to live a new life with the beautiful wife.

In the story, “The Lady and the Tiger? “ By Frank R Stockton, there was a semi barbaric king. He had a daughter that loved a man with a “lowness of station”. When the king found out he immeadntly cast the youth into prison. The princess found out which door the tiger and the lady were behind, and she couldn’t pick which room to tell him to go to. She tells him to go to the right one and then the story ends. I think the tiger came out of the door.
