Men are persuaded very easily by women as shown in Macbeth when it comes to the killing of king Duncan. Macbeth is informed that he will become king, Lady Macbeth wants to become queen. So she forces Macbeth to do whatever it takes to become king. She is willing to risk it all to become queen. In the killing of King Duncan there was only one mastermind. That is Lady Macbeth with her power of speech convinces Macbeth to go along with the plan.
Macbeth wants nothing to do with the killing. She would kill a newborn baby that trust her. So why can Macbeth kill the King Duncan. She would smash a child's face in so why would it be hard to kill him. One of the reasons I believe that Macbeth is a tragic hero is because he is of noble stature. This is true because he is a military general and the Thane of Glamis. If you are a military general you are a high rank and usually highly respected and have a large amount of responsibility. He is also a thane, which is someone who owns a large amount of land that is usually granted by the king. Thanes are also usually leaders of clans who are in control over a large amount of people.

Reading the story of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth takes control and understands his state of mind. Lady Macbeth could not understand how Macbeth could fail, as he brings the daggers back with him. She had a plan, and prepared for the murder as well as set the daggers by the guards herself. She claimed that she would have killed the king herself, yet Lady Macbeth also states, "Had he not resembled My father as he slept, I had done 't." Lady Macbeth refuses to commit this murder being that she sees a resemblance between King Duncan and her father, which causes her to not be able to do the killing of Duncan.
She then went on to explain the plan to her husband and Macbeth was beside himself on what to do. He felt as if there was no reason to kill a king, who was nothing but good to him. His wife used the guilt and anxiety he felt to her advantage to make him feel like less of a man. Lady Macbeth said that she would murder her own newborn if that’s what she promised Macbeth to do. She persuaded him to think that he broke a promise made to her meanwhile she originally came up with the plan.

Indeed, it is the witches who plant the thought of becoming king inside of Macbeth’s head, but it is Macbeth who immediately “yields to the suggestion” (1.3.146) of murdering, which despite “make[s] [his] seated heart knock at [his] ribs (1.3.148), is a thought that he completely created on his own. The witches spoke nothing of murder, showing that even without being deceived, Macbeth has a dark mind. And although Lady Macbeth convinces him to go through with the plan, all of the other dark deeds he commits are formed based on his own thoughts, not those of others, showing that he is capable of deceiving without needing help from others.
As being the dominated one in their relationship Lady Macbeth uses all her control over Macbeth to make Macbeth murder king Duncan. She also challenges his patriarchy to make him murder the King. For example, when Lady Macbeth says "When you durst do it, then you were a man." Now that Macbeth is trying to back out of it, Lady Macbeth is calling him a coward and torments him to do the murdering. She also says " Wouldst thou have that which thou esteem'st the ornament of life and live a coward in thine own esteem..." In other words, Lady Macbeth uses the power of love to persuade him. She also says if you love me you would kill him straight away with no hesitation. Lady Macbeth says "I have given suck and know how tender tis to love the babe that milks me: I would, while it was smiling in my face, have pluck'd my nipple from his boneless gums and dash'd the brains out, had I so sworn as you have done to this." Lady Macbeth provides a scheme for Macbeth to assassinate the King. She is manipulative and persuasive in corrupting Macbeth s judgement. “What beast was’t then that you break this enterprise to me? When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man.” (Act I. Sc.VII) In this quote, Lady Macbeth is agitating Macbeth by saying he is not a man if he does not do what he says he is going to do, which is to murder the king of course.

On the other hand, Macbeth was hesitant and didn’t want to go through the plan, but Lady Macbeth had no problem at all going through with the plan. “We will proceed no further in this business. / He hath honored me of late, and I Have bought / Golden opinions from all sorts of people, / Which would be worn now in their newest gloss, / Not cast aside so soon.” (1.7. 31 – 35) Macbeth was just honored by king Duncan and felt great about and wanted that feeling to last and didn’t want to do anything that would prevent it from lasting as long as it could. This also shows that from the beginning of the play Macbeth never wanted to do this, but the influence of lady Macbeth changes and kind of forced him into continuing with the plan by killing king
