Lady Macbeth is one of the most powerful Shakespeare characters of a hunted mind. Naturally she is ambitious and hungry for power. Lady Macbeth slips into madness along with her husband, Macbeth. Macbeth hires a psychiatrist to diagnose lady Macbeth. From what psychiatrist observation lady Macbeth had more than one mental disorder. For example panic disorder, bipolar disorder, paranoid schizophrenia, borderline personality, and post-turmeric stress disorder.

From what psychiatrist observed lady Macbeth had PTSD. She showed symptoms of overwhelming guilt, trouble sleeping, reliving traumatic movements, and hallucinations. She experienced delayed guilt from the murder of Duncan, whom she first pushed Macbeth to kill. And she has also aided Macbeth in the homicide of Banquo. It is most likely that she has developed PSTD from the mental instability of her husband. And she was reliving the horror of the events, depression and feeling of meaninglessness. For example, In the movie when she pushes Macbeth to kill Duncan. When he brought the daggers with him, she was panicking that he will get caught.

She was showing symptoms of suicidal thought, insomnia, restlessness, and suicidal attempts. “Gentlewomen saw lady Macbeth rise from her bed, throw her nightgown upon her…returns to bed.” (Act V, I, 4-8) In future, Lady Macbeth might commit suicide because of her guilt that she was driven to the point of madness.
