What does change mean? For most it means going beyond the norm and for some it can be frightening. For me, it’s about growth. One of the hardest decisions I ever had to make in my life was leaving my job of 5 years to better myself. La Posada was a great atmosphere that provided me with experience, self-development and beautiful relationships with not just fellow coworkers, but residents as well. I admit, that over the period of 5 years, I found myself becoming complacent. I was ready for a challenge, so I went back to school, but growth with the company wasn’t offered to me. There wasn’t any space for being selfish, I am the prime role model for my children, I have to take every opportunity I am presented with to make life more than …show more content…
There was nothing more exciting than actually exercising that knowledge. I chose to further my education. I believe that it is the key to my success, no one can ever take that from me, so why not work to strengthen it? I was working fulltime and attending school full time as well. It was a tough road, but I learned so much and as each day went by, I knew that all of the hard work would pay off in the end. The only person that could stop me, was me. When I finished school, and scheduled to take my NCLEX exam, I was extremely nervous. Without a doubt, I knew that I had worked too hard to allow my fears to stop me and with La Posada as my current place of work, sky was the limit. Within 2 days I received the news that I had passed! I was full of joyful cries and thankfulness. By the grace of god I did it. I loved La Posada, and never once did it cross my mind that I would have to leave, but I realized that my future was no longer bright there. I didn’t want to risk losing the relationships I built and no one ever wants to “start all over again”. Eventually, I had to do what was best for me, and I retired my position La Posada. Every day I rise, I see my children that are the spitting image of me. I encourage them daily, …show more content…
Many times, as parents we try to conceal our troubles because “problems are for grown-ups” right? Our children always know when something is wrong. I was so stressed out about graduating and being “stuck” at my job of five years that it was surfacing in ways that were unnoticeable to me. What we choose as a career shouldn’t be stressful. We should choose something we enjoy. I practice what I preach so moving on to Brookdale as an LPN was unquestionable. I am using skills that I learned and helping elevate the lives of others. I have met my goal! AT the end of the day, I want to inspire my children. I am able to take care of them by doing what I love. I’ll be completely honest, I love to dress nice and upgrade furniture in my place of residence. I want to be able to save for a rainy day and splurge when I want too! In order for this to happen, my income needed to be more than sufficient. The opportunity I was presented with, offered me better pay and benefits. I would be insane to let this go down the drain. I am able to do things I wasn’t able to do years before. I am grateful for this
The decision to build again was based on my success in making money in the stock market and a distorted and unrealistic perspective, without conscious awareness, that I would continue making money without my close advisors to say, not a good decisions.
Education has been one of the ways I have been able to add competititive advantage in my personal life. Although there are other components critical to my personal success. These include: determination, willingness to learn, and dedication. Having a great job that reaps monetary rewards is great, however, there are other factors necessary to be successful. These include my value as a human being, what do I do for others, how I am with my family, who I am as a fiancé and
My school work and education are taken seriously. I know that my education will certainly affect my future.
Ever since I was a young child, my parents always told me to try my best in school, they always told me this for the reason that they never had the opportunity to have a good job because they never finished school. This event is shaping me to care a lot regarding my education. In addition to that, another event that has shaped me to become the person I am today is that since my parents don’t have good paying jobs they have to work hard to take care of me and my siblings this event has caused me to become a hard working person and to seize all opportunities to live a good life because I don’t want to struggle like my parents.
There is a certain point in people’s lives where they begin to have a yearning to discover what their purpose in the world actually is. This purpose can also be described as a “Personal Legend”. What is a Personal Legend? It is one’s destiny in life and something they must achieve. Throughout Paulo Coelho’s novel
Losing my job at OLOL was truly an awakening moment, But I must say GOD Blessed me and I've grown since then in all aspects especially professionally, morally, and ethically. I've received my practical nurse license through the
While working for different places, has made me realized that you will need to work hard to become successful and education is very important.
Give an example of a time when you made a commitment to something and saw it through from beginning to end.
My mind got tired and I did not feel like making the effort so I left school. My parents encouraged me to enroll somewhere else to get an education.
There was no turning back. It was a moment when I had to use every ounce of my body to accomplish a task. It was this perseverance that I have channeled facing many other challenging moments in my life. Whether it was within my educational tenure or in my personal life, the grit established by this event aided me in times of struggle.
I either had to push through with everything in me or accept my fate. That is when I decided; I was going to fight my hardest to stay alive instead of taking the easy way out.
To this day, when I want to stop doing something that is difficult it’s much easier to look back and say, “I’ve done something harder than this, just finish this up.” Also, I learned to drink water, because we really do need it to live.
I gave up. I was not good enough. Pressure got to me. I was a failure. Key word, was.
What has been your journey, the key experiences, and decisions that have brought you to this point?
I had dreams and the only way I knew how to live out my dreams was through education. Although I fell into temptation as an adolescent, I never stopped attending school. During the end of my freshman year I found out I was having a baby girl. I knew I had to succeed more than ever, just to prove to her there is a way out of poverty. I had very little to offer her, so I was a single mother on welfare. I had many sleepless nights and moments that I just wanted to give up, but I pulled through and was able to attend East
