Hello Mrs. Garcia: My name is Kymberly Wimberly. I am a current Master’s student at the University of Texas Health Science Center here in San Antonio, and I was wondering if you had any shadowing opportunities within the University Health System. Dr. Nicquet Blake of the graduate department referred me to you to inquire about such opportunities. I am open to any specialty that may be available. Thank you for your time and consideration. Kymberly L. Wimberly
The 291-foot-long L.R. Doty was carrying a cargo of corn when it sank during a ferocious storm on Oct. 25, 1898. It vanished for almost 112 years, the steamship rested in ghostly silence at the bottom of Lake Michigan, unknown and unseen until a group of divers kicked their way down to the deck and solved a perplexing maritime mystery. The deckhouses were gone, the smokestack was tipped over and a wheelbarrow used to move cargo lay on the boat's

I'm absolutely certain that Kykuit is the oldest best kept mansion out there. Constructed in 1913 Kykuit is a historic mansion where onced lived John D. Rockefeller and the family . Who were known for industrial, political, and banking family that owns one of the world's largest fortunes. Kykuit is a six story stone mansion that has been up for more than 100 years. The house has a underground art gallery collection from as far as the 20th century. That contains the artist Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore, and lots more. Also part of his collection is Picasso tapestries, and the cavernous Coach Barn. Trust me it's not an experience you want to miss.

African-Americans in the South after the Civil War were new to the concept of freedom, yet that very small two syllable word meant a lot to them. Slaves were not considered as a piece of property that could be used and abused by their slaveholders anymore. Slaves families were separated by the effects of slavery, so the freed slaves immediately tried to reunite with their families. News finally reached Texas about slaves being freed on June 19th, 1865, also called Juneteenth. Juneteenth is considered one of the oldest known celebrations that commemorated the end of slavery in the United States. The news of the Emancipation Proclamation did not reach Texas until about two years after its public awareness because there was little Union

It is also known as the home of the legendary Kentucky Derby horse race and bluegrass
In addition to working full time as a research technician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I have been trying to gain more clinical experience. I have shadowed a few physician-scientists from my laboratory who are oncologist while they are at clinics. I have also been in contact with a family doctor whom I plan on shadowing every weekend starting in September. Most of the physicians I have shadowed in the past were specialists in their field and I feel it is important to expose to all types of different physicians. Shadowing a family doctor will give me a better idea of what being a primary care provider entails.

I love to tell stories about my childhood. Looking back now, through all of my life’s experiences, it almost feels like I was living in a fairy tale. It brings both joy and sadness to my heart when I share these memories with my daughter. The joy comes from remembering how things were back then and how those things impacted my life today. The sadness comes from knowing that she will never get to experience those things, therefore, she will only get to live them through me. Even now as a young woman, she will say to me from time to time, “mom, tell me a story about the Good Ole Days”!
I have been given many opportunities to help others and make an impact in Johnson City through organizations like the Family Medicine Interest Group at ETSU, serving as the coordinator for student involvement in free clinics. I have also been able to make an impact through medicine in Cleveland, TN by way of the Good Samaritan Clinic. This is a free clinic in downtown Cleveland that I have been volunteering at for the past seven years. I have also been directly involved in the start-up of the Just Care clinic in Mountain City, TN, a medical student ran free clinic in rural Appalachia. I was also been able to spend time in rural Guatemala with a medical team from my undergraduate university helping diagnose, treat, and care for patients whom receive little to no regular healthcare. From my own first hand experiences in both Guatemala and my time spent in the Just Care and Good Samaritan Clinics, I have seen the impact that an inadequate health care system can have on a population. I hope to use my medical and public health training in areas that do not have adequate access to health
The first paper is due by Monday, April 9, 11:59 p.m. You MAY use sources outside of the Liberty Search Engine (and are encouraged to do so). Also you may use scholarly books and not just journal articles. You should avoid using generic websites that do not appear scholarly in nature. A good rule of thumb is that if a website does not have an author, it is not a good source. Good online material has also usually been published in print at some point. Google Scholar and JSTOR are great places to search, as well as the online encyclopedias I've shown you. Always feel free to send me an email if you have questions about sources or formatting.
On May 2, 2012, the National Football League lost one of its elite players to suicide: Junior Seau. Seau played for the Chargers, Dolphins, and the Patriots during his professional football career and was a 12-time Pro Bowler before retiring in 2009. Three years after his retirement however, Seau committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest with a gun. This greatly shocked the football world and its image of Junior Seau as a person, but it soon realized the cause for his action. Shortly after Seau’s death, researchers examined Seau’s brain and found that it contained a disease known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy which is formed
In the United States, starting salaries for teachers who have completed a four-year degree are far lower compared to many other professions, which also require a four-year degree. In most states, teachers must undergo testing and other rigorous certification requirements, but they are given the same consideration or status as beginning professionals in other areas. Although attractive incentives are offered, the compensation does not compare to the long hours of work and schooling required for a teaching career.
I have been living in the United States and preparing myself to continue my journey in medicine. To this end, shadowing various doctors in the Washington, DC metropolitan area; has introduced me to the American health care system and also enabled me to keep my direct patient care knowledge current.
