I believe that Koubevta should be allowed a place among the elite gods and goddesses of Mt. Olympus. He is very creative, when it comes to his work, and is always helping the gods, and goddesses spread their emotions. He’s always putting up new filters so that they can send their emotions to their friends, and families. When Zeus wanted to show off his new girlfriend, he put up a new filter with hearts for him, and at the end he got a wife (Hera). “I couldn’t believe it! I stole her heart with one snap filled with hearts” Zeus said. Also, when Hestia was disappointed with one of her friend and wanted to burn her, he created a fire filter where Hestia could breathe out fire. This made Hestia’s friend really scared of her, and made her
Both Lynda Barry and Zitkala-sa would agree with the statement “school should be a safe place for all students,” yet both disagree with the statement “school is a safe place for all students”. Both Lynda Barry and Zitkala-sa agree that “school should be a safe place for all students” Barry had a good experience, but Zitkala-sa does know the importance of school system. Lynda Barry describes why she agrees school should be safe by using her school experiences: “I was going to sit at my desk, with crayons and pencils and books and classmates all around me and for the next six hours I was going to enjoy a thoroughly, warm and stable world”(48-50). Lynda Barry agrees with this statement because of her teacher Ms. LaSane, also Barry believes that other students
Sexual thoughts pop in and out of most people’s mind, but especially teenagers, and there’s nothing they can do about it. It is normal for teenage boys and girls to experience this, more than ever when they are hitting puberty. The hormones in the body begin to act up and teenagers want to experience other things on their own. Males begin to grow pubic and facial hairs, and their voice starts to deepen, while girls’ breasts begin to develop and their body begins to take shape. After hitting puberty, teenagers are now at the point where they want to experience things. ‚Don’t go out there and get pregnant‛ a mother
1. For my television commercial I used the popular Sham wow infomercial. According to the site the Sham Wow is “a washcloth, which will dry, and polish any surface. They are like a towel, chamois, and sponge all in one--except they're extremely absorbent and can be used over and over.” However, a segment on ABC’s Good Morning America gives Sham Wow a “C” and says it’s a normal towel so why have so many Americans fallen for the gimmick?
Krogstad is known as the antagonist in the book, but some of his actions are justifiable. He caused the Helmers quite a bit of trouble, but Nora had somewhat done the same to him. He visited Nora to check up on her and make sure she was paying what was due. He also threatened her in the beginning and told her that “it would depend on herself what type of Christmas she would spend.”(pg.19) this hinted that he was willing to do whatever it took to get what he wanted. There was, however, reasoning for Krogstad’s motives. He wanted to keep his job at the bank in order to support his family, and fix his terrible reputation. He said that for his sons’ sake he “must try and win back as much respect as he can in this town.”(Pg.21) The only way he
1876 was a year to remember in the American culture. During this year at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, we as Americans were introduced to many wonders that we still use or come in contact with today. For example the telephone or the type writer, though the make and uses of these devices have changed, if it were not for the exposition who knows what we as Americans would be utilizing today. But not all items introduced at the exposition continued to be beneficial to the everyday American. Some items would later become more of a nuisance rather than a benefit to the country for the decades to follow. What item might you ask this would be? That item would be Kudzu. Kudzu is a fast growing vine from eastern Asia. This vine was introduced
Referring to the purification aspect, Equiano mentioned the idea of decency in the African tradition. Therefore, “the constant washings and purification were the order of the day.” However, regardless of their constant practices of being extremely clean and pure, Africans and African-Americans have always been portrayed as the dirty and the infected race. Such an action is seen as a concept produced by dominating powers in order to accelerate the “Cultural Genocide” and identity diminishing. Equally effective, by spreading around and emphasizing the aspect of Yoruba traditions as not being considered a positive impact “cult”, the ATRs are viewed as suspicious practices that require certain bloody sacrifices and extreme rituals. Most of the
It is clear Ryerson University needs a better way to make education accessible to all their students. With the constant delays of the transit systems we have, and the rising costs to commute, students are skipping lectures. The best solution to this problem is starting VR enabled lectures. This will keep expenses low for students and save time that students struggle to find. VR enabled lectures are far superior to the alternative, which is living on campus. By living on campus expenses increase and you’re not in the comfort of your home. Also it is not guaranteed you will get approved to live on residence because of the limited beds available. Being a computer science students we already have the necessary knowledge to make this possible, as
Because of this funding, more women are being recognized as victims and have equal access to help regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and immigration status. Hence, in addition to saving lives, VAWA 2013, saves money by reducing or even preventing future violence as well as related social costs.
As is his weekly custom, Rabbi Moshe Yehoshua Schneider, who learns b'chavrusa with Rabbi Steinman, related the Rosh Yeshiva's talks from the previous week. Rabbi Schneider retold Rabbi Steinman's reference to smartphone owners.
We already know that there has been a precipitous decline in the study of liberal arts because many people do not value it anymore. English and history are now being pushed aside for math or science. Fareed Zakaria, an American journalist and author, in his article, “What's the Use of a Liberal Education?” writes, “Even President Obama recently urged students to keep in mind that a technical training could be more valuable than a degree in art history. Majors like English, once very popular and highly respected, are in steep decline.” This mindset is causing many people to turn away from liberal arts-based subjects, so they can pursue something that would “be more valuable”.
Zeus should be a President or a King because Zeus is already king of Olympus therefor he is used to commanding people. And handling such power which he uses to command Olympus imagine with that power war would be a thing of the past.
Certain mortals should be aloud to live with the gods upon mount Olympus. This should be a select few that are hand picks mortals. Men that are not just great leaders and saviors, but are that of heroes. The underworld is full of dead peopling through history. The prize after death is not good enough for a true hero. Hercules after saving all the gods lives from the titans should be more than just an honorary god. Plus there are a few mortals already on mount Olympus; “One such exception were the Dioscuri. These twin brothers, Castor and Polydueces, were champion athletes. They trained such individuals as Hercules. The gods decided to deify Polydueces for his works and Castor was given permission reside in Olympus for part of the year” (dl.ket pg 1).
We live in a technology driven world, almost everyone own a smartphone today. Uber and its competitors are allowing us to use an app on our smartphone to call for a cab. When a rider request a ride, the app gives you an estimated time of when the driver will arrive. It also calculates the fare and take the money out of your account. Whoever came up with the Uber idea is genius. Uber is beneficial to both the riders and the drivers. Uber created jobs for a lot of individuals, also for people who has a job but want to make extra money can drive Uber. The riders get high quality service for a fair price. In addition, the Uber app is easy to use and to understand. Increasing the amount of cars on the road results in faster pickup time which is

It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled.
