First of I will tell you what chivalry is. Chivalry is seen today but started out back in king Arthur’s day. It is the code of the knights. Things like being loyal, honest, and courage. For example when a lady walks in you stand up and if there is no seat then you give up your own seat for the lady. Also you always respect your elders so if there is no seat available then like a lady, you would give up your seat. In all of the stories we have read so far, a major theme that has been constantly discussed is Knightly Behavior and the Chivalric Code. In what we have read so far Arthur and his knights have displayed these themes multiple times throughout. The knights were held to a much higher regard than many other people during this time.

What is chivalry? Chivalry is qualities expected of an knight, that shows courage, honor, courtesy, and justice. While chivalry in the medieval era was institution of knighthood referring more to the codes of conduct, including courtly love. But, today chivalry isn't more to different from the middle ages we have a great deal of wealth and resources and freedom at our disposal, it's also considered a choice to do the right thing for the right reason and helping out others shows that side of chivalry. Chivalry still exist today in my opinion, why do i say that?

Chivalry is a term that is used in modern times that relatively means to be a gentlemen. That would mean that men treat women with utmost respect and do things to win over their love. However, in medieval times, chivalry was a more complex and serious set of morals to any man who was a knight or striving to be. Chivalrous knights have certain standards such as bravery, courage, wisdom, and being polite to women that they had to follow, or those knights would lose their honor and respect. The good knights are the ones who are willing to step up and die in order to save another, showing the chivalrous trait of relentless bravery, and the ones who are always courteous to others. There are many ways that chivalry is portrayed in various texts from the medieval era of knights in shining armor. Chivalry is expressed several times in the texts, Green Knight, Song of Roland, Percival, and Morte D’Arthur.

The Knight’s code of chivalry was the bible of the Middle Ages. The code of chivalry was a noblest path that knights swore to live and die by. We all have our own code we live by weather you've thought about it or not. Me? I believe in being nice to people, making friends with dogs, and keeping my positivity amped up around those I interact with in the hopes that I can brighten their day. I know what it's like to be sad and talk to yourself all day and have nothing seem positive.. I want to bring a little light in people's lives if I can. Though, I am also a firm believer in the justice of karma for the wrong doers, even though everyone does deserve to be surrounded by positivity, there must be a balance. It is just miserable to live and function regularly when everything happening around & to you seems so negative. I will force my positivity for the wellbeing of others because it is too often then not that I am affected heavily by emotions in a negative way, I don't want to radiate that unto others. It makes me feel good when I radiate positivity because people receive that positivity and the positivity bounces off of them onto the next, and onto the next, and so on. It’s very important to keep the peace and stay positive.

The definition of chivalry in the Middle Ages is very similar to our modern day’s definition, but they also have their differences. Chivalry had changed so much from the Middle Ages to now, the modern day. It affected men and women differently, and it changed a lot in the past centuries. The concept of chivalry in the Middle Age was extremely important.

In two stories there is a code that knights follow. Chivalry is the code that they follow. The code says that a knight should be a brave warrior, a good christian, and selflessly fighting for justice. The knights are supposed to fight for their king and queen. In the stories Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and from Morte d’Arthur they show the idea about chivalry.
