Have you ever heard of a boy that became pharaoh when he was just 9 years old, and died when he was 19 years old? He is Tutankhamun, also known as King Tut. He is probably one of the most famous pharaohs now in the world. Why was he such a famous pharaoh though? He was only recently discovered. He didn’t have many victorious wins of famous battles and such like other pharaohs before him. Well, the reason that he got so famous, was probably from the discovery of his tomb. King Tut was the son of Akhenaten and the grandson of Amenhotep II, both of which were famous pharaoh before him. His name, Tutankhamun, meant “Living Image of Amun”. King Tut was giving the responsibility and the power of a pharaoh when he was just 9 years old, which was a very young age. Tutankhamun had a crippling bone disease in his clubbed left foot, and he had to use a cane to walk. He was also a tall and frail person, and was constantly sick. He is married to his half sister, Ankhesenamun, and had two daughters. King Tut is actually the only pharaoh known to have depicted seating during physical activities like archery. The traditional inbreeding in his family, along with the multiple malaria infections that he had, was probably the cause of his early death. …show more content…

Although his legacy had been largely neglected by his successors, he had reversed the Ancient Egyptian religion, which had been changed by his father before. The citizens of Egypt were angry at King Tut’s father because of the change that he made in the Egyptian religion, and the nine year old pharaoh was left to deal with them.
