Born as the heir of King Ahadi and Queen Uru, Mufasa was a courageous lion who ruled over The Pride Land. After the birth of his son; Mufasa, began teaching Simba about the circle of life, training him to take his place as king. As a result, his jealous younger brother; Scar, hatches a scheme to over throw him and rule his kingdom. Once it's discovered that Scar missed Simbas's presentation ceremony; Mufasa, enters the lion's den in order to chastise his brother for his insolence. As the king continues to scold his brother, Scar turns his back and walks away, stating he might attack Mufasa if he turned his back on him. A few months later, Mufasa travels to the Pride Lands to show Simba around his kingdom. As the pair continue their journey,
After Simba’s father, the ruler of the kingdom is killed while trying to save Simba caught in a heard of wilder beasts; is where Simba’s departure begins, he is banished from his homeland by his evil uncle Scar. Scar tells Simba “to leave and never return.” (The Lion
Back in 2000, something strange happened at the Berlin Zoo. That’s when zookeepers noticed a black house cat had somehow made its way into a bear enclosure. Instead of scaring off the cat or mauling it to death, Mäuschen, an 800-pound Asiatic bear, adopted the wayward kitty. The zoo named the cat Muschi.
Mufasa was the brother that was more extroverted, he had the throne, the strength, and all the good looks. Throughout the scenes in the movie you could see Mufasa had a personality of someone that was a strong, proud, and the dominant ruler of his kingdom. He was willing to protect his kingdom prepared to fight when he thought Scar had challenged him. He did all of that until his death, dying when recusing Simba from the stampede of wildebeest. He puts his trust into his brother who very easily betrayed him. Scar was the more introverted brother, he was much smarter than Mufasa, but didn’t have the looks, and his longing for the throne made him very deceptive. He produced the plan to at first kill his nephew, and then his brother. The first plan to kill Simba was by tricking him into going out into the elephant graveyard to be attacked and eaten by the hyenas. When that didn’t work he came up with the plan to kill Mufasa by not actually having to do it himself, giving the hyenas instructions when to create the stampede in which he had placed Simba right down in the middle of, knowing Mufasa would try to save him, because that is his son. These two brothers were very different Scar had a dark side going on while Mufasa was more of the bright light. One could say the message is that it it is brawn over brains which gets you money, power, and respect in the world we are living in
Scar can easily be identified as the villain in The Lion King because he is evil. Scar betrays his brother, Mufasa and his nephew, Simba because Mufasa is king of the Pride Lands and Simba took Scar’s place of being next in line for the throne. Scar attempts to have Simba and Mufasa murdered through a series of lies and deceit to claim “what he rightfully deserves” First, he tells Simba about the Elephant Graveyard, despite Mufasa telling Simba not to go there. Scar then sends his three main hyena henchmen, Banzai, Shenzi, and Ed, to the graveyard to kill him, knowing that curious Simba will disobey his father. In the next attempt of murder, Scar isolates Simba and instructs the hyenas to trigger a stampede. While saving Simba, Mufasa finds himself dangling at the edge of a cliff. Scar, who enjoys watching others suffer, ignores Mufasa’s plea for help and sends him over the edge. Another aspect that makes Scar evil is his tendency to take advantage of
Another repeated scene was when Scar was located on the top of a rock with Mufasa hanging on the ledge, asking for help. Towards the end of the film, Scar is on the top of the rock, while Simba is hanging on the edge, just as Mufasa did. Both incidents show Scar with a cunning expression, while Simba and Mufasa are filled with fear. This scene shows that someone must die in order for a new lion to become king.
Metamorphosis is a story of a traveling salesman who woke up one morning and found himself transformed into a bug. Though the movie version of Kafka’s Metamorphosis tells the major events of the story similar to the book, but it is hard to grasp the dynamic of the transformation and how one might interpret all this without examining the different details, and point of view of Gregor.
The two of us often discussed his future as king of the savanna. One day I was perched next to the dozing Mufasa while planning out how I could help teach Simba the qualities of a king. I perked up when I heard the sound of a stampede rushing through the valley. What can the wildebeests be up to now? I thought to myself. “Do you want me to go see what all the commotion is about?” I asked Mufasa. Before he could respond, his brother Scar came rushing forward shouting, “Simba is trapped in the valley!” My body tensed as I realized that I should have been there to stop Simba from foolishly wandering into the only place I had urged him to avoid. Mufasa leapt onto his paws and feverishly fled into the stampede that was raging within the veins of the valley. I watched helplessly as Mufasa struggled against the surging wildebeests in a final attempt to save his only son. I could do nothing as he snagged Simba from a branch and tossed him onto the ledge of a cliff, saving him. I urged Scar to help Mufasa up, yet I was too weak to save him myself. There was nothing I could do, except comfort Simba as I watched Mufasa fall victim to the massive stampede. This was all my
When I was younger my fear for insects was nonexistent. Growing up I didn't see many insects till I moved to the East Coast. Some of the insects I came across was beautiful, for example at night fireflies would light up, and that fascinated me. Other insects such as flying ants and roaches made me no longer enjoy the idea of insects as once before. In today's American society it's common that people deveolped their own perceptions about insects. In Kafka's Metamorphosis, the story explained how Gregor's family didn't accept his transition. Gregor was practically disowned and treated differently. His family viewed him as disgusting. Therefore,Gregor's experience directly correlates with how people today view insects now. Americans tend to perceive
Although The Lion King and Macbeth seems like two different stories. One is set in the medieval era while the other is set in postmodernity, but both displays the similarities of the character’s strategic battle for power. Scar, known as the villain in the movie, The Lion King, committed selfish acts to fulfill his distorted desires. As Simba was at the edge of the cliff, about to be murdered by Scar, Scar snarled at him, “That [is] the way your father looked before I killed him” (The Lion King). Simba leaped up from the side of the cliff, and pushed Scar to the ground demanding him to confess to his crime of killing the king, his father, Mufasa. This quote proves that Scar’s ambition leads him to do ruthless acts, wanting to kill Simba, who was next in line of the throne. These malevolent plots are what fuels the battle of evil against the good. Scar stated to his three murders, the Hyenas, “We [are] going to kill him. And Simba, too” (The Lion King). In the movie, The Lion King, shows that Scar is resentful of the king, Mufasa, and the power he retains. In this quote, he plans a plot on who he wants to kill with the three hyenas to help him finish the deed, which shows his strong ambitions. Another
He notifies where he has had his guards bring Cordelia and King Lear to be executed after the battle between his brother and him, for Edgar explains the last breath upon their father, therefore, his last amend was moved by the words spoken from his sibling. In The Lion King, Simba was placed in the same position in where his father once laid to be sacrificed, but in return, Scar told the truth behind the murder of Mufasa to Simba right before Simba’s death. Although, Scar was not in guilt like Edmund at the last part of his life he did admit his faults unintentionally, therefore, allowing Simba to gain enough rage to escape the grasp of
Near the climax of their confrontation, Mufasa rescues his son after defeating all three of his attackers in combat. After his minions fail to kill his nephew, Scar enlists the aid of Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed for a new plan to steal Mufasa's thrown. As the hyenas wait for their signal, Scar lures Simba into a trap and orders the trio to scare a large group of Wildebeest, causing them to start a stampede. Meanwhile, the king's trusted advisor, Zazu, reports the sighting of an unusual migration of a wildebeest herd. Not long after his report, Scar tells Mufasa that Simba is trapped in a gorge with the Wildebeest. As a result, the lion king heads for the gorge in order to save his son. Upon his arrival, Mufasa catches Simba right before he fell off of a branch, however; the lion king suffers an attack by one of the Wildebeest. Despite his injury; Mufasa, manages to reach a ledge and brings his son to safety.
However, Scar, the main antagonist and brother of Mufasa, tricks Simba into a gorge, forcing Mufasa into a dangerous situation. When a stampede of wildebeests approach, Simba has trouble getting out. After saving him, Mufasa is unable to climb out and falls to his death amongst the stampede. This event causes Simba to withdraw from his usual personality and become depressed. He blames his father’s death on himself, running away from the rest of the pride, and meets with Timon and Pumbaa, a meerkat and a warthog who teaches him a separate way of living life. Now, Simba lives a carefree and happy lifestyle, forgetting about his responsibilities at home. No longer respected, he refutes his past, unable to see the need to return home and help the other animals. However, Rafiki, a trusted and wise baboon and ex-advisor
A bloody battle with the lionesses and the hyenas left Simba and Scar head to head in a battle for the truth. Scar reveals that he in fact killed Mufasa and blames the hyenas for everything. In turn, the hyenas change their loyalty towards Scar and kill him. Simba regains Pride Rock and circle of life begins once more.
Now, this looks familiar. Hmm. Where have I seen this before. Let me think. Hmmm... hmmm. Oh yes, I remember. This is just the way your father looked before he died.” Scar still believes that he can kill Simba just like he kills Mufasa; he still believes that he can use lies delude Simba. Scar’s overconfidence makes him cannot imagine the final result of Simba’s counterattack.
Mufasa, Sarabi and Simba all love each other and Simba’s parents are protective of him as he is still very immature and young. Simba looks up to his dad and loves him. Mufasa teaches Simba many things, such as how to hunt and become a good king. Mufasa saves Simba from the hyenas and the animals. He also forgives Simba for going to places that he was ordered to not go. When Simba does not want to go back to the Pride Rock, Mufasa tells Simba that ‘by forgetting who you are, you have forgotten me as your father.’ This makes Simba go back to Pride Rock.
