On June 24th 1947, Kenneth Arnold while piloting his private aircraft over Mt Rainier in Washington state, sighted what he described as nine shiny saucer like objects flying at high speeds. He contacted a reporter who published his story in the East Oregonian and submitted his story to the Associated Press. The story was picked up and published in papers across the country. Along the way the phrase “flying saucers” was coined for what Kenneth Arnold had seen. As the story spread more people started reporting seeing similar objects of varies shapes and sizes (Gepper 335-336). It was ten days earlier from Arnold's “flying saucer” report, that a sheep rancher Mack Brazel near Roswell, New Mexico found debris on is land. At the time he was
One of the strangest most frightening flying saucer sightings occurred in Flatwoods West Virginia on September 19 1952. Eddie May who was just 13 years old at the time and his brother Fred who was 12 were out walking on that dark misty night when they saw a round object dropping down through the sky amidst streams of fire. After the UFO disappeared behind some trees the boys ran to tell their mother what they had seen. Refusing to believe her sons’ story Mrs. May went outside and saw a red flashing light glowing on the hillside. Frightened she sent the boys to get help and they soon returned with Gene Lemon a young National Guardsman. Armed with only a flashlight Lemon led the May family and 3 other children up the hill.
Steven Barone, a Nevada resident known for his alien chasing hobbies, has finally struck gold. Barone apparently caught his first UFO sighting on two HD cameras. This would be great news, unfortunately, Barone hails from Las Vegas. The City of Sin isn't exactly known for its truthful reputation, but perhaps Barone will prove that wrong. Probably unlikely.
But not just any balloon,”the debris recovered on a New Mexico ranch as that from a balloon, a radar-tracking reflector, and an instrument package from "Project Mogul. " Project Mogul was then a Top Secret field experiment being carried out at Alamogordo, New Mexico, by New York University scientists to study the possibility of detecting low-frequency pressure waves in the atmosphere from Soviet nuclear weapons tests”(Weaver 1). To add to this information, The debris found on the ranch were matched to the top secret project mogul(Park 4). Because the project mogul was kept in such secrecy it could of helped spark false conspiracies about this weather balloon crash. Furthermore, the witnesses that had claimed to see something extraterrestrial also described the wreckage similarly to the descriptions of a weather balloon(Weaver 2).
One of the biggest alien conspiracy theories is the UFO crash in Roswell New Mexico. On July 2, 1947 many witnesses see a glowing, disk like object falling from the sky, and disappear behind the trees. The next morning a ranch worker discovers a trail of metallic debris and brings it to the local sheriff. Word of the crash traveled quickly, and the Roswell Air Force was notified. At first the announced that they had in fact found a UFO crash with three human like creatures inside. the next day they retracted the information, and claimed that the wreckage to be a weather balloon. When skeptics went back to investigate all roads that lead to the crash were blocked by the military.
“With respect to the alien craft, we have American citizens who are working on UFOs 24 hours a day. We are trying to learn what to do” (Willtakeover par. 5). Boyd Bushman, a scientist who won many accolades and was awarded twenty six patents, is outright stating that Americans have access to alien technology in Area 51. Shortly before his death, Bushman revealed a plethora of interesting details about the alien visitors who he claims continue to visit our planet today. For instance, Bushman alleges that a crashed UFO is in possession of the United States government and that the extraterrestrial space vehicle was studied and tested at the top-secret Area 51 facility in Nevada. All this would be hard to believe, but he backed it up with a convincing
B. He also claims to have seen nine flying saucers housed in a hangar built into a hill.
Any discussion on this conspiracy, however, will not be complete without talking what went and goes on in Roswell, New Mexico, or better known as Area 51. Area 51 is known to be a US Military Base where 75 miles away, there reported to be a UFO crash landing on July 2, 1947 that left an exceptional amount of debris all over the area. The Roswell Army Air Field reported that they recovered a “flying disc” but a few hours after this information was released, the government immediately said it was a “weather balloon.” RAAF even reported having recovered alien bodies but as expected, the government denied again and simply stated that it was the military men’s trauma from accidents. Countless witnesses during and after the reported crash date have confirmed seeing flying objects, crop circles and usual activity within the area. Area 51 is now conspired to be a place where they examine evidences of alien bodies, UFO crashes, etc, but the government refuses to confirm and have denied these allegations. More than sightings, as promised, let me take you in on one of the craziest abduction stories.
Extraterrestrial encounters of all forms and kinds leave some kind of evidence whether it is physical or non tangible evidence like a person’s story of seeing a flying saucer or possesses photos of the unidentified flying object. These forms of evidence aren’t always the most reliable as many are reported false and considered hoaxes. Ever since the incident at Roswell, any information or evidence that proves other worldly existence automatically becomes the center of attention and can bring an individual fame and even
Being the first to witness a true sign of a paranormal activity is a dream for many people who believe that humans are not the only ones in the universe today. With the amount of publicity and beliefs that come with pseudoscience, people start to become delusional because of their want to witness a UFO or the infamous Bigfoot. When one is in an area that is said to contain the possibility of UFO’s, such as the Northwest, the possibility that a UFO will show up can be deceiving and lead people to depict objects in the distance as such phenomena. In Nickell’s second article, the “Mysterious Entities of the Pacific Northwest Part 2”, a pilot claims to have a seen a group of UFO’s, when further investigation revealed that the objects turned out to be pelicans. “A veteran Northwest Airlines pilot who has flown over the Pacific Northwest’s ‘flying saucer’ country for 15 years spotted nine “big round discs weaving northward two thousand feet below us.” Capt. Gordon Moore stated, ‘We investigated and found they were real all right-real pelicans’” (117). This claim was made soon after two scientists Arnold and Johnson claimed to have seen numerous amounts of UFO’s while flying in the Cascade Mountains. The short duration of time between these two claims shows that your brain can play tricks on you when trying to witness pseudoscience. Had the possibility of UFO’s never been brought up, Moore, the pilot, would probably never
On January 25, 1878, The Denison Daily News noted that John Martin, a local farmer, had reported seeing a large, dark, circular object resembling a balloon flying "at wonderful speed." Martin, according to the newspaper account, said it appeared to be about the size of a saucer, the first known use of the word "saucer" in association with a UFO.[23]
Newsweek was the first magazine to report a saucer outbreak. On July 14, 1947, the magazine’s headline screamed, “Flying Saucers: Spots Before Their Eyes?” A week later, a Life magazine headline told the story of the summer: “Flying Discs Break Out Over U.S.” By that fall, respected publications like Science Digest were publishing long features on "unidentified flying objects (UFOs)," and the flying saucer craze was off and roaring.
Roswell is perhaps one of the most famous alien reportings that has sparked the interest of many humans. The so claimed UFO pieces of debris that were found near Roswell, New Mexico were actually the remains of a military balloon. History, an informational website reveals that, “Project Mogul used sturdy, high-altitude balloons to carry low-frequency sound sensors into the tropopause, a faraway part of the Earth’s atmosphere that acts as a sound channel.” At the time, the U.S. military was
To begin, any of the “UFO” sightings easily can be explained, and or duplicated with the same effect of the first sighting. There has been 1,177 reported “sightings” across the U.S.A in the last year; but mainly in the southern states (Historical). Now at first glance one may think how does prove
Millions of people have claimed to see or experience something paranormal and out of the ordinary. Even if most of them can be explained away, that still leaves a lot of unexplainable objects in the sky and unexplainable sightings of other worldly beings. UFO sightings have been reported all over the world, not just the U.S.A. A flying disc was seen by pilots, crew members, and a bunch of other people at the Chicago O'Hare Airport in November, 2006. The whole story was shown on CNN January 6, 2007.
On February 24, 1942 shortly after the United States entered the second world war, 100,000 people watched as an unknown craft invaded the skies of Los Angeles. Anti-aircraft guns went into war against unidentified aircraft within the Los Angeles area. This research paper is about aliens, it will analyze: their existence, purpose, and power.
