These were adults that were overworked and barely slept. They avoided the responsibility of supporting themselves and caring for their health. “Gerry Parks was called up ‘on the floor.’ Jones humiliated him in front of the community, gathered in the pavilion. ‘How can you complain about the food,’ Jones raged. ‘You, with a full belly, when two out of three babies in the world go hungry.’ Dale then watched his father being beaten.” (Tim Cahill). Dale witnessed his father get beaten after he complained to Jones about the food. Due to the complaint Jones got angry and humiliated him in front of the community. The Aztecs were a civilization located in Mexico with a ruler by the name of Montezuma II. They were not peaceful people, but rather known as warriors. They were especially not peaceful when the Spanish came to Mexico. A Spaniard by the name of Hernan Cortes sailed out of Cuba in 1518 and encountered a civilization named the Aztec. It was horrible for just one man’s greed to end a whole civilization.
These two cases have one clear fact connecting them; that men of color were shot and neither carried a weapon. In the case of Keith Lamont Scott , they are still investigating but from what we know in the video his wife tells the officers “He has a TBI. He’s not going to do anything to you guys. He just took his medicine.” In a CNN report they state “The gun police say they recovered from the scene was loaded, a source close to the investigation told CNN. The source said investigators recovered from the weapon fingerprints, blood and DNA that matched with Scott. The source said the blood most likely got on the gun after the shooting.” So its possible he had a gun with him at the time and its possible he didn't .
