Kaylin Turner has asked me to write a letter of support on her behalf as she requests driving privileges to school. I am most pleased to do so.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kaylin this fall semester in my Anatomy and Physiology course. She is a high school student attending Wright State University to advance her education. She has successfully completed the first semester of a two-semester sequence in which she plans to finish the second part of the course next semester starting in January. Anatomy and physiology is a rigorous course and requires a great deal of face time in lecture and the lab. One attribute that has impressed me is that Kaylin is doing better than nearly 75% of her peers which are older and one would think better prepared.
I had found out about this class through my high school. It was through to Mayo Clinic in Lake City. It was a two week course. My class happen to be the very first class that Mayo had held in Lake City. So it was a little disorganized. First day of class I was very nervous. I did not know what to expect in this class. When I showed up I only knew a couple of the other students. When I first met Melissa I thought she was going to be a very strict teacher. So I thought the class was not going to be very enjoyable. Every day we started our day by taking each other’s blood pressure, pulse and respirations. Counting someone’s pulse can be very tricky. She made us try with everyone because everyone is different. We would read one to two chapters a day in our text book. We would have a test for each chapter. We also had memorize vocabulary words and abbreviations. We had one big test on them at the end of the course that we had to pass in order to go on to take the test for the class. She would have us practice them every day.
I am writing this letter of recommendation to express my support for Keyshia Martin in her application for the Jackie Lajeunesse Scholarship Award. Thank you to the Ontario Ringette Association for organizing this rewarding opportunity for a great supporter of ringette.
Hello Class, my name is KenToria Suggs and Im from Charlotte, NC. I’m a 20 year old, upcoming Junior Psychology major who resides off campus at The Reserve Greensboro apartments. I work part-time on campus in Nobel Hall as an office assistant for the School of Nursing. When I graduate from North Carolina A&T State University, I plan to go into an ABSN Program at Queens University in Charlotte and after I finish that program, I want to do 4 more years of medical school so that I can earn my DNP and become an OBGYN in Labor and Delivery. This year is my second year here at A&T and I’m very excited to start this abnormal psychology course.
I am Dr. Nicholas Pollock, professor of the courses Anatomy and Physiology I & II at the University of Texas at Arlington. My student Tania Mancillas has requested this reference as part of her application for your Jumpstart Program internship at Children’s Medical Center this summer. I recommend Tania for the intern position you are offering in the hospital based on her high-achieving performance in my Anatomy and Physiology I course this spring semester.
Graphic novels such as Nat Turner by Kyle Baker challenges the ways in which notable traditional novels refer to slavery by using panels to convey his message on the topic more explicitly. Kyle Baker discloses the power of learning contrasted with the disempowerment of not being educated by using powerful graphics. In the graphic novel, slaves were told who to be and how to be. Their opinions were never heard nor asked. Since birth, they had someone who told them that learning was forbidden for their kind. By showing the reader the state of the slaves, Kyle Baker introduces ignorance as a key factor to controlling individuals into accepting what they are told without questioning whether is right or wrong. It makes people weak and more likely to be manipulated. Baker also introduces the idea of how much power knowledge can give to an individual. Knowledge is power because what you have learned cannot be taken away – it can only be enhanced. Without knowledge, there would be no disobedience to an unjust act. Baker depicts the idea that knowledge is power through Nat Turner, who discovered different worlds through reading, became more eager to learn, and used what he had learned from his readings to become a leader. The chapter “Education” is an important chapter for this novel because it shows who was allowed to be educated, who was not, the benefits of being educated and the consequences.
Sophia was well aware of the rigors of medical school and she seems to be prepared. When I asked her if she had any questions, they were mainly thoughtful questions about life in medical
Going to school was not always at the top of Natalie’s favorite things to do list. With a full schedule of AP classes in high school, she thought what was the point in continuing her education However, now she now takes pride in going. Now she’s on her way to learn the tedious and important job of becoming a surgical technologist.
Attending medical school began early for Gabbie and attending high academic schools are a pre-requisite. Planning her high school life

My AP Biology class was the hardest class I have ever taken and my traditional studying skills did not help. Not knowing how to study and not having time to study made it very difficult to keep up with the class. I had to think fast and I learned that the only way I remember certain concepts where by seeing them in action. I am a visual learner. Reading words and flashcards do not help me learn unless I actually see things happen. So I started taking notes on videos and I started doing better. I would have never come to this realization if I never did Students Run LA. Also I was not the only one in SRLA who was in AP Biology so we were able to learn together while running together. I am ready for any challenge that comes my way and any other surprises along the way. I will become a professional in my
I have always had an interest in the human body and animal anatomy. I've studied it on my own with coloring books, online programs and thru home dissection kits. It is fascinating to learn the numerous ways our bodies function. I completed an anatomy and physiology course through our home school coop. I learned a lot of important information that will help me advance in my education and career.
After graduating from a small liberal arts university in Michigan with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, CC began working in the ICU. A year later, she moved to the Cardiac/Cath. lab, where she eventually felt most confident. Always one for problem solving, CC enjoyed performing PQRST wave assessments, closely monitoring patient medications and aiding in catheter placement surgery. Her day-to-day jobs also included monitoring patients post-operation, aiding in pacemaker placement, and educating patients about procedures. Most important to her day-to-day, CC stated, was the constant communication between her and her team members. CC cited her small class of students in
When I began my college journey, I started off as a Medical Laboratory Sciences Major. In addition to the required courses , I also took classes from my list of prerequisites for medical school. Being the first in my family to attend college, I didn’t have a relative or parent to ask for guidance, but I did have advisors and professors who occasionally gave me
Caitlin has made great progress this trimester. She has demonstrated good understanding and application of the concepts we have covered this term. Caitlin’s analytical skills have improved a lot and she is within sight of a top grade now, if she can boost her practical grades next term. Her overall grade this term is 90%. Her answers on papers are more thorough but she finds difficult to manage data-based questions. Caitlin must refine her revision technique and do lots of practice data-based questions.
It has been my pleasure to know Stephanie Ryzyk over the past semester as your Anatomy lab teacher. Stephanie is a pleasant, responsible woman who is organized and always turns in her assignments on time. She is a nature leader who helped her lab group accomplish the tasks necessary to complete the lab each week. Stephanie showed her care for others by always helping those in her group understand concepts or perform some of the more difficult assays that were assigned.
