Shadows are guardians. They are there to protect us from forces that we couldn't even begin to understand, and to make sure we never know they exist. These shadows are led by a woman named Katherine Lizbeth, but to the shadows, she was Queen Katherine. A woman driven by an intense killer instinct, Katherine uses her talents as an assassin for the glory of her people and the continued elevation of her family.
From her childhood, Katherine had always displayed a natural gift for combat. Being the daughter of a prominent Seversk General allowed many paths to open up for her, but she rejected them all for the path of the blade. She was trained by the finest assassins in Seversk, her father being the best among them.
It wasn’t long before Katherine demanded her first assignment. The task was simple, assassinate a low-ranking Baikalsk officer. However,

Returning to the camp she spied on her now heavily guarded target and realized a stealthy kill was no longer an option. Drawing her blades, she leaped into battle, unleashing a whirlwind of steel. As blades flashed one by one each guard fell, each kill bringing her closer to her target. One final thrown dagger to restore her honor. Bloody and bruised, Katherine barely escaped the Baikalsk forces and returned to Seversk a changed woman. A scar over her left eye now serves as a constant reminder of the day she let passion interfere with duty.

Screams echoed down the halls from the brass lined wooden door that lead to the dungeons. The screams had become a regular occurrence ever since the recent pop-up attacks from the Baikalsk army. Sometimes rouge attackers would find their way into the kingdom but they would soon be captured by the guards and then interrogated by the Lady Katherine herself.
The smell of rotten flesh would sometimes fill the corridors if there had been an attack on a larger scale than
“To kill or protect, what a pity our kind can choose only one.” He’d said that to her when, at eighteen, she’d told him she’d decided to become a guardian. “I wanted you to follow your sister and me.” He sighed. “Oh well, it’s probably best that you follow in your mother’s footsteps anyway, for you’re too kind hearted to have followed in mine. Still, with your skill, what an assassin you would have made.”
Author Karl Jacoby, Shadows at Dawn: A Borderlands Massacre and the Violence of History, depicts the events of three ethnic communities that led to the demise of Apaches within the Arizona territory. Karl Jacoby's Shadows at Dawn: A Borderlands Massacre and the violence of History, explores the events leading up to the death of 140 Apaches encamped at Aravaipa. This event which took place near a U.S. military base known as Grant Camp shed light to the justified actions of grouped communities versus the Apaches. The accused groups of Anglo-American, Mexican American, and Tohono O'odham took part in a brutal massacre that would later be acquitted of any wrongdoing. The efforts of the federal government were not enough to aid or bring justice towards the Apaches. Author Jacoby has pieced together the geographical networks which sparked a chronological list of minor and major conflicts between the other ethnic communities and the Apaches. The Author's purpose of Shadows at Dawn is to highlight the injustice through oral histories, primary sourced documents, and various perspectives that factored in Apache existence.
Her lips formed strange and unusual sounds, her eyes closed softly and her cheeks paled. From her side belt she withdrew a small knife, a dagger. With a quick movement she cut her left hand with the dagger. As the drops of blood hit the cold marble floor the knife also clattered to the ground. The girl remained speaking her foreign tongue and let her life's blood run down her outstretched arm.
In Lisa Stuart’s article, The Dark End of the Rainbow is an intriguing story of learning but for once this lesson is for the teacher, not the student. The teacher, in the article, was excited about a school wide activity that would be a show of unity and diversity in the students through a school photograph. In this photo the students would wear the colours of the rainbow and pose on the hill, however, a cloud would descend upon the teacher’s sunny plan when four newer students of Muslim decent arrive on the day of the photo not in their class colour but in black hijabs and, as the teacher feared, separate themselves from the other students. Once they were forced into the photo the girls preceded to cover their faces. The response was met
Shadows in Mildred Pierce add depth not only to the cinmetophgray but also to the characters as their intentions and motives throughout the film are revealed in a series of flashbacks. In opening the film with a shootout the audience’s perception of what happened thus becomes shaped through the characters interactions with the lead character, Mildred. The shadows however help add not only depth but also an air of mystery to the scenes, as they are most promonlty scenes in the house where the murder takes place. In understanding the intentions behind shadows in this film how do they contradict with the scenes in the daytime that take on just as much tension as the scenes performed at night?

Most Shadow Hunters ebing let through here older than she, but Rose was strong headed and demanded that she be let to go to protect her mother. Reluctantly they let her go, Scar usedd the parabatai bond as an excuse to go with her, sometime after Rose wished she'd saved herself the begging and had just ran for it like Jace Herondale and Clary Fairchild later did. There were more Endarkened at the Citadel than the Clave had suspected, never-the-less Rose plunged herself into battle. The rush filled her vains as she let her arrows fly, then switched to her seraph blade. Then suddenly her blood ran cold and she froze where she stood. Daren stood infront of her, walking towards her with a blade gripped in his hand, his face that usually held a smile for her was now replaced with a grim determination. The kinda look he got when his prey was locked in, but this was the first time she'd ever had that look locked on her. She called to him and tried to reason with him, forgetting everything going on, forgetting that there was no reasoning with an Endarken. Rose could barely hear the sound of her parabatai screaming at her to remember, screaming warnings at her. She couldn't kill him...how could she... Daren stopped walking and coughed up blood into the white snow they stood on, it was then that she noticed the blade protruding from his chest. Scar, her parabatai had killed him. Rose gasped as she fell to her knees and sobbed. Scarlett quickly knelt beside her and forced her to regain her focus and remember what was really happening. Shutting off the pain the way she once did when she was so much younger she stood and rejoined the
Through “statisticulation,” advertisers and propagandists misinform their audience with statistics in different forms. “The Darkening Shadow” is a prime example. Distributed by the First National Bank of Boston, a map shows what portion of our national income is now being taken, and spent, by the federal government. To show this, it shades the areas west of the Mississippi to indicate that federal spending has become equal to the total incomes of the people of those states. The states west of the Mississippi have relatively large areas compared to the east, and makes for a more convincing visual. However, while those states have larger areas, they have much smaller populations and, on average, make considerably less than states farther east
The smell of burning flesh, likely from the crematoria hit me as soon as we entered the gate, leaving me with an uneasy feeling for what lies ahead.
Should College Athletes Get Paid or Not? One of the biggest issues with college athletes is if they should get paid or not. College athletes do get scholarships to play for whatever sport they intend to play at the university of his or her choosing but they also need money for extracurricular activities such as going to the movies, hanging out with friends, food, etc. So my thesis is what are the advantages and disadvantages of college athletes getting paid.

She whipped her eyes towards him, but suddenly lurched and fell to the ground. The world slowed, she felt something warm and sticky pool around her.
